  1. The adjustments( the bolts behind the headlamps) are broken not the headlight itself. Look for a cracked cylinder around one of them.
  2. Please make all oil type questions in the General maintance section. As well as search out your statment or questions as 99% it has been asked answered or experianced already , their is no new ground breaking oil stories.
  3. Please do a search when asking anything about oil as it has alwayus been asked before just like this question. General questions that are not specific are found in the General maintance section.
  4. SK8I dont; think cleaning contacts is going to fix the locks ? Since the key and the button do not work. It is more likely a wiring problem. you need to have someone look at it physically to trouble shoot it.
  5. LOL that is a new one. Got pics?
  6. You asked a question in the title of the topic but made a statment in the actual thread! What do you want to know if you already have the rims?
  7. If it reads obd2 then they are all pretty much the same what year your car is will make you need either an obd1 or 2 scanner You can get them cheap all over. they have basic ones for toyota which will work on an obd1 system for $20
  8. no problem , by the way i did a tutorial on changing ES brakes which are the same so it is the same step by steps.
  9. I never said the vvt -i was available on a 97 It came with vvt no I for intellegence.
  10. By using single points you can create multiple waves to make a gorund loop noise. Those ebay kits are over rated and priced. Why do you need to ground your head and block? They are botled together ? Just another cash grab. On an ES their are 3 main ground points 1 - under the battery tray , .5 feet 1 - to the transmission , 1.5 feet 1+ to the starter, 1 foot everything else is not high current and is usually fine. 5 feet 0-1 gauge wire max ,$25 6 0-1 gauge gold teminals $15 Adjust lenght by engines just take a look and see how much you need. that is everything and it works great , i don't use cheap wire which can harden with a cheap copper conductor, which leads to the reason you just replaced them. Compare a GM ground wire which is hard brittle and oxidixed after a year or 2 to a Toyota which is much more plyableafter years of use. If you decide to change your battery terminals do not buy cheap ones as they will not fit snug and fall off, i had more than a few customers who have had problems and left them with me for paperweights
  11. Agreed with a stereo store as i mentioned earlier. I did another car this past weekend with more than happy results as usual for a 12 year old car. I am not sure i would use a marine buss unit as it works but in a fibreglass hull you need a ground point but in a car everything is a ground point. 12. Please define all 3 of your questions with some more detail of what you want to know and to whom?
  13. No amount of broken engine mounts will ever cause a tranny to slip. Glad you solved one problem.
  14. you can but that is only if the box is secured properly as well. or you are looknig to short out the wires.
  15. Actually TDS using the sunoco 94 before testing is fine but you don;t want to test with 94 as it will cause the car to run rich and cause even more emmisions and increase you HC (hydrocarbon ) readings. What are your limits and readings for your test. Without it their is no way to evaluate the test.
  16. show me a GS to face off against this BMW So far this takes my first place for a replacment on my next car.
  17. Depending on the colour it might look nice with a ghost pin stripe.
  18. WOW , what alot to read. I dont; care who thinks they know anythgni about a Cherokee it is a peice of crap. It falls apart brand new. How do i know, my last company i was with i got a ride to work everyday with a guy with one. We got to know the name of the towtruck driver real good as well as the cop for dropping a diff. Chyrsler makes garbage and the Jeep cherokee must be its crown jewel. As for all this childish crap RX if you don;t like the truck sell it ,leave it at the side of the road or burn it. Some people whine then their are others beyond it by far.
  19. lots of years of maximas, which ones? If you think Lexus are expensive take a spin in a Nissan for parts. I think you have found the worst people to deal with so far. For $1000 i would have sold you all 4 of my 6 month old shocks and struts which are kyb already put together to reduce install. I think you might have a bullseye somewhere. Good luck with the other car. This time have it checked by a pro for $100
  20. You know ,i read HK and i just keep thinking JDM dreams and lump asian into JAPAN. My bad ,speaking of which saw the grudge based in Japan after a Japanese original movie, a very funny movie( if you like laughing at all the people jump up and down in the theater.
  21. Sorry sun ,you better check yourself on this one. VVT-i became available in 99 before it was the first version of vvt.
  22. If any one wanted to know the RX shares the same brakes as the camry 97 and up front and rear. As well as the avalon and ES from those years.
  23. I am paid to be anal with cars so i notice the smallest differences and abnormalities. I was floored when i first looked at the car by the bumps on the handles . I thought it was an imprefection then noticed it is on both doors ,must be part of the keyless system. Funny how it also has a big plastic know to start the car and no key holes.
  24. I wouldn;t use brake cleaner as it is a thin resistor filament in their to measure temps. Using a brake clean or anything else in high pressure that comes out COLD is looking for trouble by making it brittle and easy to snap. A little bit of throttle body cleaner left to soak for a minute is all you need.
  25. Y pipe is about right The moisture is odd maybe you notice it more from sound deflection. Or you have another problem making it more prevelant when it is wet like a bad sensor.
