  1. Same problem! I live in the Northeast too, and the traction is very poor, pails to my old Audi A6 Quattro, most likely due to the tires more than anything else. Tire options are not that great for snows, trying to find some, $1,000 for 18" without rims, $1,800 for 17" snows + aftermarket rims, anyone have better ideas for snows?
  2. No problem for me on the recall. But, I have had a ton of issues with my '04 RX, nothing super serious, but the RX has fallen far from the family tree, its not rock solid like the LS or ES, more like its sister the Highlander.
  3. I want to get snow tires for the RX 330, I have a 2004 with 18" wheels. Has anyone got snow tires for their RX? If so, what do you recommend, its hard to find snow tires to fit this car.
  4. I think it's for most of them. Go ahead and call 800 25 Lexus, give them your VIN and they'll tell you if you're part of the recall. Lexus is slow in rolling out notices so the dealers don't get over-loaded, but the dealer will fix it for you by request before you get a notice.
  5. Recall on the 2004's, you can schedule an appt with the dealer even if you havent received a notice yet Make : LEXUS Model : RX330 Year : 2004 Manufacturer : TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V558000 Recall Date : NOV 18, 2004 Component: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH Potential Number Of Units Affected : 183090 Summary: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH AN IMPROPERLY DESIGNED BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. A SILICON OXIDE BUILD-UP OCCURS ON THE CONTACTS INSIDE THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, WHICH CAN MAKE IT INOPERABLE. Consequence: IF THE SWITCH IS INOPERABLE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL NOT ILLUMINATE AND CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DECEMBER 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331. Notes: CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATIONS AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
  6. I may just have a lemon, but my 2004 RX330 fit and finish is lousy inside. Wood does not line up on the center console, dash board materials are nothing like other Lexuses, creaks every time it goes over bumps, both clothes hangers almost broke off with a regular amount of dry cleaning, and terrible dealer service.. with an attitude, I have had other Lexuses before, anyone else surprised by the lack of Lexus craftsmanship with their North American made RX? Any data out from JD Powers or others show a decline?
