  1. I love the way a a6 drives but it is a bit bulky. Love the super saloon look and both interior and exterior sytling. But their reliability for electrical and other systems is just palin awful it is what keeps me from buying any audi and my wife wants an a4 bad. But sorry my time for having to keep extra parts in my garage for the known break downs is over. The GS is nice looking and moves well but is pretty much bullet proof.
  2. It would blind oncoming drivers. I agree the computer is for self leveling not to run the sytem. Who was the advisor? Starts with a H? He is usually really good to deal with. The parts people at Dv are idiots always have been. but the service is good erin park has idiot service people but great techs also but their parts guys are good their. If you are ever in mississauga let me know and i can take a look at it for you. You can buy me dinner later if i fix it , no shop rate.

  4. the oem horn has a relay but it is not made for a compressor but a mechanical horn. To use an air horn you need to add the ground wire and positive wire from the battery then attach the old horn wire to the relay and wire it up as well to the new wires . Then you can use the horn. I have one compressor on my civic and eventually will add the hella triple horn set to my lexlater on as one of my horns are shot.

  6. It is a motor that is activated when you press the button . It has a rod connnected to the lock assembly. Try dowsing the lock mechanism with wd40 and locking and unlocking it with the key and the button , It should loosen up the rod from sticking.As it has a strong kick to it it can keep it stuck if it is dirty ad sticking.
  7. You need to adjust the actuator on the lock rod it is sticking.
  8. For only about 40 codes no scanner is needed as all it is is a display screen. A true scanner costs thousands as it read variables and shows their outputs. It is simpler to buy the obd1 plug in for the diagnostic port and get the code flashed to represent them which is the system you have and is much cheaper than the 200 i spent on mine. I would have much rather spent 20.
  9. Then for a car based platform the RX is at the top of the game, for a truck it has to be the X5.
  10. Both bases are the same for a d2r and d2s only a strip for a projector. Their are cheap replacment bulbs which are painted and others which are a different spark level. Phillips makes a good replacment for big money called a ulitron i think.
  11. For wear and tear items it has too be looked at physically to advise on replacments Midas and others give free brake inspections. The key turned in the door should unlock/lock all doors. Their is a lock and unlock button on both front doors inside.
  12. Agreed the X5 is fast ( 4.4) comfortable and looks nice But it handles like a truck as in slow to respond and top heavy feeling. The RX feels like a car jsut higher and much more easier to control. You have to set boundaries on what you are looking for to ask for advice.

  14. Get a motorvac. It helped mine ,i would have passed if it didn;t heat my cat so good it burnt the cat and blew out the back. Damn cheap cat.

  17. Bad yes, ever i think their are quite a few worse built, the Jeep Cherokee comes to mind, hell the chrysler minivan since 01 or so is another load of crap.
  18. No need to be scared just use good tools as the screws on the side took forever to loosen on mine luckly i have a full box and chest of oddball tools and luckyl as well i had a rachet adapter for i think it was a torx
  19. Looks are deceiving The fenders have to be higher in the front to allow the rim to turn. Changing one set of springs makes the car unbalanced as their is 2 spring rates causing it to jump up and down in the back while the front would be more solid

  21. The pda systems are the obd 2 ones as their are thousands of codes. OBD1 uses less than a hundred and mostly uses a flash system like SOS or dahs dot dash flashes of the CEL to signify a number like 2 long then 5 short flashes would be 25. this is the one i have http://www.autobarn.net/eqobdiicodre.html OK i looked for 20 minnutes on the web and cannot find anything but obd2 I know they have tons around in stores. Go to your local pepboys or napa they have them for about $20
  22. 350 is slow as well as bad resales. Both have bad resales actually due to a large number of defects from the american ML's, If you do get one,Stay the hell away from any vin that starts with 4jgab54e1 it is the american ones. It is very rare to get a German one here. If buying used do not buy any of them before 03 drive and 01 and an 03 worlds of difference. the 500 drive much better an self assured but the gas milage is awful. You realise this is probably not the best forum to ask this question .
  23. Ls has dual exhausts? Which one did they try ? If one cat is gone then you might have bad luck. I think it is more likely a cat as i just changed mine after a failed emmiosn test on my other car. When was the plugs wires rotor and cap oil ( but it barely makes a difference to co) changed ? BTW hoew long did the car sit before the test? Did the tech take it for a drive to warm up the cats?
  24. Disconnect the battery ,wait a few minutes. Remove the flaps on either side of the wheel to get acess to the side bolts of the airbag. Disconnect the bag carfully to not damage the wires. Get your steering wheel puller after loosening the wheel bolt and pop the bolt off. Remove the wheel and check fitment for you new wheel to the bag just incase it doesn't fit. Plug everything back together cross your fingers and attach the battery. No srs light and your done. Those side bolts are really tight sometimes.
  25. UMM d2r's or d2s's will not fit your car you have 9006. LMAO now i know why it won;t work. You need 9006 HID's not oem style above.
