  1. A usdm 2jz is going to cost alot since american sellers like to charge any outrageous price for them. Another alternative is to keep your stock block and use the top end from the 1jz Itll save some trouble as long as you get a good head. Then again, if youre going to rip apart your motor, might as well get the GTE
  2. Cheap and carbon fiber dont go in the same sentence. The cheapest youre going to find is taking your stock hood to a custom shop and having him put a single layer of fiber over the top of the hood. Thats as cheap as it will get
  3. You might want to think about an oil change at least after that run
  4. You can get wideband O2 sensors, but they wont be very useful in your application. The W/B sensors will run around 0-5v while the Toyota oscillates between 0-1v i believe. You can get the W/B for as cheap as $28 or over $200 but the factory ECU wont read the signal since its looking for an oscillation betwen 0-1v. You can get a WideBand controller like the Innovative Motorsports LM-1 which alot of people use around here, but only for performance purposes. Unless youre changing your fuel curves or going forced induction, the stock O2 sensors should work fine
  5. Im not a big fan of the extra fuel injectors, just larger ones in place of stock. You could probably go up to 550s all around without affecting idle that much. Have you looked into the AEM EMS? it should be plug and play for the 2JZ
  6. If its for the rears it shouldnt affect it. Your camber may be off depending on how long it has been like that and wether it was adjusted with the bad shock or not. For peace of mind you may want to get it done. One less thing to do later on
  7. First, its a Toyota Second, its his car and he can do what he wants to it or with it Third....nevermind.
  8. I saw a kit made out of cardboard one time. Not too shabby....
  9. If its the whole thing then thats a damn good deal. Cover and fogs alone are over $600
  10. Actually, the front bumper has a list price of $335.01. If someone is charging you a grand for a cover, youre getting screwed
  11. You can get a good idea of the costs from this page
  12. As long as you dont have TEMS or some other crazy suspension it should be just bolts. The only hard part is if you dont have a spring compressor to get the spring off of the shock. I think i paid $10 for one at Wal-Mart. Just make sure you have a 1/2" socket or a large breaker bar. Those suspension bolts may have been there for the last seven years and might not want to come off that easy
  13. If you ask the dealer then they should be able to tell you the P/N and by the diagram of the EPC you should be able to see where it is located at. Id either get the wiring diagrams or a Haynes manual for repairing
  14. 2500 for a valve gasket?!?! That is absolutly insane. Sure that wasnt a head gasket? Even then its still insane
  15. You know what works good is to rip out all the insulation on the hood. The rubber strips at the front and back and the blanket on the underside.
  16. Yeah, sure...just loan me $100k if thats cool with you. I could get CF everything for a VW bug. If that group ever really cared about CF though. They already have glass everything including bodies
  17. Doesnt Takahiro Ueno have dry carbon...everything?
  18. Who would have thought... Spark Plugs .com Theres a dot com for everything i guess
  19. Trust me, get some good pads and slotted/cross drilled. Night and day from stock system. Its probably going to run around 3-400 for four normal rotors and pads are up to you. I see some pads for 60 for a set of four. Just depends on what kind of rotors you get and how you drive
  20. Im pretty sure thats just the auto trans heating up. They all pretty much do it, but the easiest way to destroy the auto trans is to let it overheat. Depending on how you feel, you could take it to the dealer just to get it checked, but its going to cost you quite a bit.
  21. ok, we need to take it a bit easy on the quotes here....
  22. You can get the valve body and a torque convertor from MV Automatics in Australia for around $700 AUS. Keep in mind that it doesnt cover shipping and the torque convertor is not light. If you do upgrade the trans youre going to have to get a better cooler for it as well
  23. I have 18x8 and 18x10 on the rear and it looks like theres at least an inch more to play with. If i get the fenders rolled then i may go with 10 in the front and 12 out back
