  1. Well, its your car so you can do with it what you will, but i would never let that thing come anywhere near my car. It will probably work and give you a few extra horsepower(5?), but its not worth it. If im seeing it correctly, it just intercepts the signal from your AFM and lowers or raises it accordingly to dump in more or less fuel.
  2. Sounds like a bad strut. Can you tell from what corner its coming from?
  3. Mind sharing your exhaust cam gear setting? im putting them on next week
  4. $3k for a total tear down is a steal! if i had $3k, id spend $100 on primer black spray cans and the rest on the engine but thats just me.
  5. I know some of the aussies have the S/C sc400 with some wild setups, but with the availability of the 1JZ and 2JZ, you cant blame them for not having an aftermarket. Plus the fact that the cars arent really marketed to the "racing" crowd. (If you import a soarer for racing you -have to have a racing license -can only keep it here for a few weeks -will get to watch your car get crushed as they do not impound, only destroy)
  6. You can bypass the crash data by providing a letter of a substantially similar model from the original manufacturer that would state that there is a USDM model that passes the crash test. I.E.- Soarer compared to SC400.
  7. Depending on the model and year, around $50k for a newer one and 35 for older models. R32s are around 6 and R33s maybe 10-20. Theyre cheaper in mainland too
  8. Racing brakes are just that. For racing. For street purposes they might not work exactly as you plan either. Im sure theyll stop good, but they are going to wear pretty strange since they arent being used as planned from Brembo. If youre getting a street kit then i wouldnt worry too much, but youre still going to have to do alot of maintainance on them
  9. Australian Soarers are way too expensive. Come to Okinawa where $6k can get you a GT-R, EVO VI, or three Soarers
  10. Is the Gumball Rally a contest of speed or just who finishes it? Both seem to be issues when going long distance from my expierence. You might want to consider a Supra six-speed diff to help out on the highway also
  11. If the wheel is scratched then there really isnt anything that you could do to fix it. It wouldnt be cost efficient to get it repaired when you can get a new one cheaper, also. If the bumper isnt cracked then it should just need a repaint if the scratches go that far down. Are you seeing any other colors in the scratches? Besides the other persons paint i mean
  12. I wouldnt count out the auto too quick. If you get an upgraded valve body and a fluid cooler you should be able to hold a bit more. You might want to think about a dragon torque convertor also. The Getrags go for around 1500 for the trans alone. Total swap a bit over $2k depending on the shop and how much they charge for custom driveshaft and mounting.
  13. Sounds like you got it planned out pretty well. You going for stock looking outsides?
  14. Im pretty sure that the supras didnt come with the seat warmers. i could be wrong, but im pretty sure they didnt. You could do a custom add-in, but i really wouldnt recommend it with stock supra seats
  15. Yes! Use periods at the end of your sentences.
  16. If you do transfer the heat element you may find yourself on fire one day.
  17. The only other likely thing is if the gas tank is leaking onto the diff or the diff has a hole in it. Otherwise, you could replace the gasket. Just take off the cover, scrape the gasket off the diff, put a new gasket on the cover, tighten down the cover. Done
  18. Its my understanding that the Supras with the 4 pots came with 17s from the factory, but theres no telling if the Enkei's have the same clearance. If you can measure the inside diameter of the rim then thats a start
  19. Theres alot of people on the Australian forum that swear by the Vlamos bushses. I think you can get the whole front set for around $500US
  20. In theory its the same. If you could get the wiring off of a Supra turbo or even an Aristo or whatever else comes with the 2jzgte then it should work with no problems. Its pretty easy to get a soarer ecu or just a half cut now. I can buy the whole car for under $2k here.
  21. Might be that whatever filter was on there didnt have the same flow characteristics as the original Lexus filter. My car has sticky lifters every once in a while, but i would only be worried if the noise is continous. Usually it will happen when you first start the car and then go away after it warms up and the oil gets flowing, but it shouldnt happen that often if at all. If you dont hear any noise then i wouldnt worry about it.
  22. Well, you can get the Soarer Bible and the converted electrical diagrams for a price. A bit over charged if you ask me, but its alot of information. Just do a google search for Soarer Bible and it should come up.
