  1. The click is normal ,it is the brake aftey switch relaseing the parking lever lock.It always clicks when the brake is pressed in park. SAearch for the other posts on for pics of repairing the damaged wiring in the trunk arm
  2. The dealer charger about 100 a sturt but can be found cheaper ,look for a post regarding this in the ls section or the workshop tutorial on how to replace them with other brands for 30 instead. the button might have the lock turned on which is unlocked by the key beside it. i would get the alternaot check as well as seeing if the power steering fluid is leaking on it as it is very common to blowing them.
  3. The aqua tread is a very nice tire as is the michelin X one both are a bit pricey but sam's club should have the hydro edge cheaper. A 16 inch tire there goes for 130 canadian so about 100 usd over there.try em and see.here they also only charge 10 a tire to install balance and free rotation as well as road hazard warranty.
  4. For the price ureathane bushings are an excellent upgrade as the make the steering and road feel much more solid by repacing worn or even on good ones a sloppy feel for the road. It doesn;t make it harsher just a bit more snug as tehy don;t compress as much as rubber inserts do.
  5. To me the first upgrade to a car should be the brake lines. I would have done tehm first butat the time it was extremly hard to find .For about $100 you will get an amazing pedal feel and response. They definatly are no snake oil. To me it should be the normal for all manufacturers but it isn;t.As it is so simple but such a drasctic change in response.
  6. kuhmo makes pure !Removed! as well. i wouldn;t put them on anything. I have had 3 sets. I actually loved my michelin x ones when i had stock tires they were much better than the stock dunlops but a bit pricey .They deliver excellent handling and traction all year round.
  7. i got brembros and love them.Only slight wobble when around 200 km and braking. But at that speed almost anything is not that flat.
  8. Then it is likely either the main ground for the battery or the alternaotr ,the alternator is which is more likely.Mine does the same thing as well ,it need to be rebuilt i found it did decrease once i changed my wiring on the battery.
  9. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ghlite=detector the word detector is better than laser or radar. there are about 7 on the first page try em
  10. I think the newer ones are DVD based not cd as there is alot more info stored and available on it.
  11. You have to have the scanner to change the settings. It is only made to give the owner personal settings when needed but not for really user adjustability ,which is kind of stupid to say the least. There is a list in the general maintance setion for all the options.
  12. Does it work when you turn the key in the doors lock cylinder to unlock all the doors? or open and close the windows and roof?
  13. How much did you pay to have the tranny rebuilt?
  14. If the do not cover the replacment. Just clean it up and apply some clear coat to add some extra protection as well as doing the other caps also at the same time ,incase.
  15. The LS has the gas tank in the trunk? I thought only the SC had that?
  16. what are the part numbers they gave you jimbo?
  17. That is one way which is much simpler than mine. But for an open air vehicle like an rx or any hatch car.A simple and space efficent way is to use a bazzoka tube. They make a few styles now and have self powered and non amplified. .It doesn;t add anything to the sound but braoden the lower end as to not cause any spatial crossover or anyother added noise. Also can be removed with a click of the harness and it is out withing 15 seconds. I love mine for about $300 with a built in amp.
  18. I get marred easily once i try a product and under real world testing it failys or performs very poorly. My expericance starts with a customers 91 300 zx with the same FZ-4 tires. It is noisy as hell with them on. I also keep getting the rear end loose much more often than needed. If you drive a 300 it is a really heavy car with moderate power( non TT). Compared to another 300 i have driven also with 18's but falkens it was a dramatic improvment in stability of the sidewall, road feel, noise . Toyo makes great tires the RA-1 ,T1-S but the price point and the return are completly dependent on the tires demands. They make a basic tire for summer and that is there fz-4s. You will never see that tire on a track, car shows maybe but only on a car picking up points when toyo sponsers the event for a few extra points.
  19. a hum from the car is usually one of a couple things. The main ones are the radio ,did you try turing it off? Or the transmission fliud being low and the gears spinning without being submerged completly , did you check the fluid?
  20. Gelling is only common on the 1mz-fe engine from 97 and up as it got a new head design which also increased the heat for emmisions. It is not a problem on pre 97 cars unless it is a major lack of maintance. It does need to be checked though.
  21. You wouldn;t get much of the oil from the engnie or tranny out as it would never get in the right spot..It would be easier to find a curb and drive up on it for added ground clearance.
  22. try reading the FAQ ,it may answer even more of your questions like this one.,
  23. there is a really good post that has quite a few replies about the EXACT same >?
  24. fz4's are noisy harsh and junk. they make a much better all around summer tire called a t1-s leaps and bounds above.
  25. for the price of resurfacing about 20-30 each ,just get a new set of rotors as it will be harder to warp again. i also agree to what stevie said are the causes.
