  1. Looks great, Den! B) I really like that color; it reminds of the almost exact shade of paint as my Uncle's Town Car! hehe
  2. Me too. I really don't care for how they ran the exhaust through the rear bumper. It just doesn't look right to me. Hopefully it'll look better in person!
  3. That's entirely up to you, and the only way to answer that question is to stop by a dealership and sit in the car. ;) Seat preference varies greatly from one person to the next. I hugely prefer the big, soft bench seats that my Buick has to the seats in my LS; my Buick's seats keep me much, much more comfortable over long distances than my LS's seats. Different strokes for different folks....
  4. Patel, I found myself in the same situation a little while ago, that is, I loved my Energy tires, but wasn't up to spending $140/tire. I put BFGoodrich Traction T/A T rated (118mph) tires on my '95 LS about 5 months ago , and I have nothing but positive things to say about them after riding on them for almost 12,000 miles. They are much cheaper than the Energy tires @ $90-$100 (depending on where you buy them). I find them very quiet, and they are excellent in the rain. I put 20k-25k miles on a year, so treadwear is an important factor for me--the Traction T/As have a 620 tread rating which is better than the Energy tires. H rating is fine. I read that going down in speed rating can degrade your ride quality and/or handling, but I have not noticed any difference when I dropped down to the T rated tires from H.
  5. Josh phoned me as well, but I couldn't take his call since I was in the middle of bribing someone for an inspection sticker. He left me a message saying that he would be deploying on Sunday. I'll have to set aside 3 or 4 hours (LOL) and give him a call to night to see if it's tomorrow or sunday.
  6. The clunk while braking? 10:1 it is your strut rods. I don't know if they are to blame about the clunk you get while turning the wheel. I don't see how they would. My old strut rods were hellacious, but my steering never clunked. Maybe lower balljoints, tie rods, etc.......
  7. I wouldn't mind putting an end to this "feature" on my '95 as well. It annoys the hell out of me for some reason--I guess it has to do with just seeing it move a centimeter everytime the key enters/exits, and since I have the wheel tilted high enough so that I don't crash my damn knees in to the steering wheel, I don't need it to move a centimeter to let me out of the car.
  8. You said it, in not so many words! LOL ..... Thats because its 14 years newer, that would not be the case comparing it to a new or newer LS ;)
  9. Nifong is such a jack !Removed!. What he is putting those boys through is really a shame. No DNA evidence + great alibis = no case for the prosecution. Nifong's day will come...I think Mel probably believes in the comments he made. A lot of people speak the truth when they are drunk because the boos cause them to drop their gaurd and speak what's really on their minds. People prejudge other people, and Mel is obviously not above that.
  10. I don't think it would have saved you any money. I just paid $70/corner for OEM struts, so that's $280, and then you add another $400 or more for coil springs. Add another $100 for bumpers/mounts/etc., and the Arnott conversion is looking like a nice deal. ;)
  11. Congrats Craig!! That is one helluva machine you just bought, I can only imagine how great 400+hp of Hemi power is! B)
  12. LOL Someone has to defend these fine cars eventhough this is a Lexus club! LOL I agree with price dictating inventory, but there are exceptions to every rule. American car co's price their cars stupidly. Check off every option box on a F150 and you are looking at a $40k-$45k sticker. That's rediculous, the truck just isn't worth that much which is why they lower it down $10k+ without much negotiation. "Employee Pricing" is nothing more than a brilliant marketing scheme. Ford, Chevy, and friends were knocking the same amount off of the msrp's before they started the employee pricing, and I'm sure they will continue to do the same after the program "ends." Do tell, if they were so aweful, then why didn't you start buying Japanese after your first bad Ford, instead of buying 3 more American cars? You say that as if the Japanese have a crystal clear reliability record when that's anything but true. No one is perfect, not even Toyota.
  13. This is all really simple to me. In general, it all comes down to the price of gas, and it has little or nothing to do with quality. Toyota/Honda builds more tiny tin can cars that get 30+mpg than Ford, Chevy, and Dodge do, so their sales will be higher until gas comes down. I looked at the Yaris the other day, and I was shocked at what a POS it is for the $14k sticker it had (you can get a more well built Corolla for a little more.). I'm all for getting 30+ mpg, but could you imagine getting in an accident with say a Chevy Suburban--let's see 3 tons against 1.1 tons....ouch!!! I'm glad that my LS and Buick have substancial weight and mass behind them should something bad happen! Rob, those Tahoes aren't selling slowly at all--sales are up 27% from this point last year, according to the Star-Telegram. And the new Tahoe gets 20mpg on the hwy which is impressive for a big suv. There's nothing wrong with that, just like their is nothing wrong with you only buying Toyotas. I love American cars, but I'm not going to say that I'll only buy American--that'd be silly, you buy whatever you will suit your needs/tastes at that point in time.
  14. My '95's solenoid screwed directly in to the pressure valve, and I didn't have to remove any bolts. I just looked at PP Lex, and they show different racks for the '95-'97 and the '98-'00, but I'd bet they are similar. This is probably one of the best things you can do to your car. My driveway has a ps fluid stain from all of the ps fluid that leaked from the rack prior to cleaning the solenoid, and mine wasn't nearly as dirty as some of them that were posted here. After blasting it with a little carb cleaner, my rack (and driveway!) is nice and dry!
  15. Wonderful news Rob! As for that dreadful lurch, we'll get to it some day! LOL My latest thought is the TPS for two reasons 1)I have an abnormally low idle (like 400rpms) with the a/c off--which is a rare occurance in Louisiana and 2)I remember reading a post about retuning the TPS cured this problem for some of the first gen guys. I'll have to check out one of these days..... PS Oh yeah, now that you're so pleased with the ride, you shouldn't have any trouble catching up to my odometer reading (which is over 280k)!!! LOL :P :D
  16. Yep! ;) Some of the wealthiest people I know live in between Bum-F%$k and the middle of nowhere, Mississippi! LOL True, there are more HD trucks and SUVs in rural areas, but just because they don't have a L or a 3 point star on the front of them doesn't make them cheap. Price a F250, diesel, Lariat, blah, blah, blah, and even after you deduct the incentives from the MSRP, the price you are looking at is similar (or more) to some Lexus or other luxury cars.
  17. There are plenty members here that are out in Plano....errrr, Dallas/Ft. Worth! ;) For a good wash and wax, $75-$100 (multiply that times 2 or more if you have swirls or other defects that need fixing.) if you want it done right. I'd head over to autopia.org, and fish for a pro detailer there.
  18. Thankya TC! I have about 280k miles. I go 5,000 miles between M1 10w30 changes. I despise changing the oil in this car (because of the oil filter location), so I'm all for spending a little extra for a product that will allow an exended interval. LOL The oil looks bad to my eyes when it comes out (I'll pull the dipstick tomorrow to see what that looks like.). I think the PO of my car was lax with the oil changes because the valve covers and what lives beneath were varnished pretty badly, not to mention the bit of sludge that we found in the oil pan.
  19. After test driving an ES350 the other day (just for the hell of it), I'd have to agree with that! The 350's ride is amazing, an A++, although the slope of the windshield and lack of legroom made for a somewhat awkward driving position for me. I found the ES's interior and exterior to be waaaaay better looking in person than in the pictures posted online; it's not nearly as awkward in person. I really can't wait to see and drive the ES's big brother this fall since the ES has set the bar so high..... LOL That's almost as funny as the time you asked if everyone in Texas is racist!
  20. Chris, have you checked for any leaks under your car? My high-mile '95 doesn't require me to add any M1 between oil changes. One of these days I'll run seafoam through the crankcase...
  21. Thanks guys very much! I really appreciate the kind words! Rob, if you called me anything other than Amigo, I'd think that someone else was using your LOC account! LOL
  22. Welcome Mario! I could only imagine how heartbreaking it would be to have a "new" car break down on it's maiden voyage back to the house! I too agree that it's probably the alternator. Park Place is selling the alternator for $275: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...amp;catalogid=1. The labor on the alternator is very, very minimal-less than an hour. Parts and labor at the dealer, I'd bet they won't let you out for less than $400-$500. ;) You can't edit titles, but I fixed it for you! ;)
  23. I put a Kuda in a while back since I copy everything Jim does with his carphone! LOL I really like the way it looks! B) If any of you are really, really big on the small details, the Kuda is not a 100% fit--although it is very, very close. I think it's because it fits first and second gen LSs.
