  1. Yea i fell for that,i put them in face up and ERROR came up,after trying them upside down i found they worked :chairshot: Hope its this easy fix for you
  2. A car Alarm is as only good as the person who has fitted it. Over here in the uk,the Clifford is now a well known brand, there not cheap to buy,but have loads of gimmick features...and are known as a designer brand.. Ive heard good and bad of Clifford.. Cobra are a well made unit and thats what my money would be on. Each to there own, just my own option :)
  3. Hi,there is a tranmission drain hole on my uk car, changed to tranny fluid the other week,JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE LEXUS TRANSMISSION FLUID,or you will damage the box ;)
  4. "When I turn on my air conditioner it works well, however, the two passenger side air vents seem to get cold a lot faster than the driver side vents. When it's a very hot day and I turn on the air conditioner the passenger side starts blowing cool air right away but the driver side seems to blow warm air for a while. Eventually, all vents start blowing good cool air but why does the driver side take longer? Isn't it all the same A/C?" I had the same problem on my car,the gas was low,so the a/c would work, but i had the same warm air out of some of the vents...you will find that if you shut all the vents....then open anyone of them, you will have cold air...open them all and theres warm from some to start will....Id say that the a/c needs a re gas. Sounds like your up againist it,good luck mate with the repairs.
  5. :D :D :D Thats what i do :D ;) I tell people when they comment about the stick holding the bonnet(hood) up,its because in its life time the bonnet has hardly been lifted cos nothing really goes wrong with them, and its not used to being lifted up :D
  6. :D :D :D Thats what i do :D ;)
  7. Glad you sorted the problems out and wish you happy motoring
  8. Some interesting comments guys, nice to here all about the newer versions of the LS models,i want one my self now but i will have to wait until they come down in price over here :( The LS430 is a very rare animal over here, only ever seen one or two on our roads..in fact dont see many LS400s of any series, people see them as big gas guzzers in the uk,and most people dont drive cars of more than 2 litres :o Ive always owned big cars and to date the V8 4 litre Lexus is the biggest so far, mostly had 3 litre cars...the old engine on my series 1 LS 400 with 130k is the smoothest ive ever driven,so ive got alot to look forward to by the sounds of it.
  9. Hello mate, not seen any wheels like that on all uk cars, looks like they are after market wheels...with Lexus centres, there are companys that can make the centres caps with what ever you what pictured on them. Hope if thats of some help to you ;)
  10. Sorry to hi jack the post,i need to take the radiator condenser out of my car and replace it as its leaking as ive lost all me air con gas...ive had a quick look looks like the engine cooling radiator needs to come out first to get to the condenser radiator. Then it looks like it can be removed from the engine side of the front of the car.. Is this how its removed? cheers chips
  11. Shes a great looking motor mate ;) ...i was up at our uk nec car show over here a few weeks back.Went to the Lexus stand and fell in love with the LS430... I sat in the 430 and loss track of the time, was sat in there over 30 mins just pressing all the buttons and finding my way around the car...some cool features.. The thing i noticed was how you still knew you were in the LS and found the same sort of feel and look as my series 1 :D Enjoy mate...its way out my price range at the moment at £57k over here... Give it may be 10 years and it might be in my price range :D
  12. Some good info there...i used the Meguiar's car wax and found it gave a good shine but i found Autoglym wax easier to use and rub off, each to there own but a car the size of the LS,i want easy of use cheers
  13. Hi 90LS400Lexus,your not alone :D ,i had my aircon regased up about a month or less ago...worked fine until Sunday The weather over here in the uk over the last few weeks has been dry, sunny and very hot for us....it rains normally :D I was very happy to have the aircon working and its been a dream driving around in the cool...looks like ive lost all the gas again, the bloke who re charged it said there were no leaks, but said the rad condenser may fail because of its age and condition,so im in the same boat as you,but lucky its not been raining and hot at the same time...as per normal Lexus uk want the world for a replacement £527.81 ...got the price down to around £300 for the rad. So my heart goes out to you,i say get yours fixed mate...good luck ;)
  14. Fair play for fixing it your self and saving a fortune, niceone
  15. Im glad youve had most of your problems sorted, and its not made you poor. :)
  16. I went to my local Lexus dealer here in the uk and they told me they cant get the touch up paint for my series 1 ls 400 because "its getting long in the tooth" :o :( I went to a car shop and they mixed up the bottom colour from the vin plate but the lighter upper colour they could not find a ref for it :( The bottom colour matched up spot on :) So in the uk Lexus arent really interested unless youve got a new version of the car.I did tell Lexus that its very poor them not being able to get the paint for my car and that they should value there customers better and they should have more respect for us owners of older models, told them if it want for my series 1 model all there fancy building and newer models wouldnt have took off :chairshot: :chairshot: The series 1 is the daddy of "LEXUS" :D :D :D :D
  17. My 91 series 1 only says Lexus on the left hand side, happy as it is cos over here in the uk unless its nailed down it will get stolen so its less for me to replace just the Lexus badge :D ;)
  18. Im glad im not alone here .Having problems my self trying to find a 8 inch free air sub to replace the 8inch on me series 1 Ls400. I also found that kicker has the best choice, but the bolt holes are different from the lexus one...lexus uk want £127 to replace it!!! :( Im hoping to buy a kicker one and adjust it to fit in my car.The trouble is most shops over here, dont carry the 8 inch free air in stock and want me to order and pay before i get it.Any thoughts guys?
  19. Ive spoken to Tein, they told me that the coilovers will adjust to the standard ride height and stiffness of the standard Lexus ones. ;)
  20. Nice clean looking motor youve got there Elsupremo, looks nice in white...i want one ...i want one :chairshot: ,your model over here in the uk is still to much money for me to afford to buy for now :( ..look after... If id just bought your car from a dealer,i want take the car back and get it repaired by them, you wouldnt catch me paying to have it fixed Id go back there and would argue until they said they would repair it You shouldnt have bits falling off a car of the Brand name.. Good luck mate ;)
  21. I had the same sort of options my self with my old car,not a lexus but i know where your coming from davey. How do you feel about the car...i was on my second one(the same model, same colour, same spec, just that id owned that model for nine years and i needed a change, something different. So if you still enjoy driving the car and its in good condition and you know the car inside and out and its not been a money pit id keep it ....if you fancy a change and your tired of the car sale it mate.. If you can do most repair jobs yourself then you will be laughing. Ive thought long and hard about having the emmisions pipe what runs from the exhaust down pipe back up to the inlet manifold replaced by lexus..they wanted £100 for the pipe and 5 hours labour at £89 a hour to do the job. I took a days holiday on Tuesday this week cos the weather was forecast hot and dry...surprise surprise for us in the uk. I ended up doing the job my self I started at 8.45am and finished it at 6.30pm :chairshot: but i saved a fortune....everything went wrong all day, nothing to eat all day till 8pm :chairshot: But the feeling of fixing it my self and saving loads of money as well, driving the car after fixing it :D out ways the effort it took. Have a go mate do as much your self and the tricky stiff get the garage to sort out mate... Good luck with her...let us all know how you get on ;)
