  1. Well thanks for your analysis! I will take that into consideration. I forgot to say, but the car has 100,000 miles.
  2. Well I took the 1990 LS400 I was thinking about buying for a test drive. Immediately upon entering the key and starting the car, the battery dies. The salesman assured me he would "take care of it" before it was sold to me, and that he never lets a car off the lot that does not run properly. Well after he restarted the battery I took a test drive around the block for a few minutes, no high speeds. I noticed that the A/C is out and only blows hot air. When I asked him about it he said it was not a major issue and that I could always replace it. __________________ So how much would this A/C cost? Also, I made an offer for $4,500 at first, the dealer just laughed and said no way. So then I got the price down to $5,500 (originally 6,500). I said I only had 4,000 however and he then pulled the price down to 5,250. Is this a good price? I don't particularly like the color(burgandy/maroon type, not sure) but Lexus' are hard to find in my area.
  3. Hey thanks for your help! It just looks funny without something over there on the right, I guess im used to it. If I end up buying the car, I will most likely purchase the LS400 emblem off of eBay. How would I go about attaching it? Is there some special solution or do I just use superglue? lol
  4. As you may know, I am currently looking at buying a 1990 LS400. On a closer inspection today(still did not make final offer), I noticed that the back of the car doesn't list the model. It just has the usual Lexus and nothing over on the right, is this normal for the older models? Thanks again! B)
  5. Well thanks alot for the help guys! I will probably return to the dealership this weekend and make the offer of $4500. Then will most likely up the price until around $5,500. It is a small dealership operation, and was most likely bought from auction or a tradein.
  6. What kind of service by the way?
  7. Hey, I have found a very nice looking 1990 Lexus LS400 at a local dealership. Right now it is at 6,560 dollars with 90,000 miles. The test drive feels fine, everything seems operational. However, the outside has many small dings and scratches, especially on the hood. Also, my budget is around $4,000 only. Do you think asking $4,000 - $5,000 for this car would be out of the question? How would I go about asking for it to be lowered (im a little inexperienced :) ) Thanx alot! :D
