  1. I was very lucky when i bought my Ls400,everything was in the car...my car is a series 1....a 1991 uk car. Just been over and had a look in the boot at the tools and they are as follows.. a metal wheel stop......for when jacking up the car a lexus screwdriver 2 spanners..one is 12 and 14mm each end and the other is 8 and 10mm a wheel brace for undoing the wheel nuts and a lexus touch Hope thats of some help to you I was also lucky to still find the Lexus CD :D Good luck with sourcing the tools
  2. Hi Sbelangia, nice to see something different on here, your car looks very eye catching mate...fairplay for choosing them wheels, bet there a pig to clean though... What offset are the 20 inch wheels, the Ls 400 has a wheel offset different to most cars, its 50mm standard offset so you need to buy as near to the 50mm offset so they dont rub.I had problems with putting 18 inch wheels on my car, they rubbed on the front.I had to have the wheels machined, there fine now... As for the ride height of your car, coilovers is the way to go,there not cheap but you can adjust the stiffness and ride height of them... The ones i was looking at were made by "Tein"....but there £1200 here in the uk!!! Good luck, let us know how you get on ;) theres the Tein link for you,if thats of any help http://www.tein.com/
  3. Mines a 91,had my car a couple of months now,how time flys...no problems so far with mine...good luck if you buy the car..happy motoring :)
  4. Hi,my car has OEM standard suspension,my car has 132,000 miles. The car has been looked after so i know things are how they should be.Ive found the rear a little to soft when ive the boot full of shopping and people sat in the back,a part from that im really happy how the car copes with the poor condition roads here in the uk.
  5. You tell um Steve,80 pence a litre for us....think your selfs lucky guys ;)
  6. Very nice pool you have there,im also in the uk...your garden looks bigger than me street... :D :D
  7. Alexr, just like to say what a nice motor you have there.
  8. Fairplay mate,i think it will be one of the best mods you could have done ;)
  9. Hi,id says theres abit more to it than the tyres, may be a tracking check?
  10. Thats fair enough,i :D when i saw mille miglia's ..... Glad your doing your home work ;) ....think they were the spider plus alloys, they all some do a Uno alloys, there a 5 spoke shape, but ten spokes http://www.millemiglia.co.uk/bigwheel.php?...D=15&modelID=96 Its a tricky one,in the uk the wheels they sale that fit a LS 400 are rare because of the wheel off set :( Good luck matey.
  11. just tryed the link myself, its not working... Saw the clip over here in the uk the other night...ive got it on video but no video card or know how to get it on me computer...only way ive thought of is to record it off the television with me camcorder
  12. Hi...ive 18s on my car and like ive said in other posts...with the 18s in my view its now the car it should have been..... If i had to go back to the 205/65/15s....think i would sale it and buy something else.. Thats just my view ;)
  13. Hi ive heard that these will fit http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lmc0QGmMp9G/c...w.asp?i=109P432
  14. Try turning the steering from lock to lock 3 or 4 times with a couple of thousand revs on while parked up....you may have a air lock in the system. ;)
  15. Good info boys i had the same sort of problem my self with my door lights ;)
  16. saw a link some where to a company that will make up the Lexus symbol for the centres, not sure where i saw it though. If you go for larger wheels then you will have a little more tyre noise, but better braking if youve wider tyres than stock and more grip allround ;)
  17. Leave your car as it is and save for larger wheels....spacers in my view are never a good option, you may have to get longer wheel nuts if you go for spacers...if you buy new alloys they should come with new wheel nuts and id say thats a better option than spacers...just my view ;)
  18. How did you get on with the links lexuslad?
  19. Thats a clean truck..really love the colour, just wish we had more of your rigs over here...see the odd american truck on the roads now and again..over here. Nice pictures :)
  20. I also dont want to cut the car metal about....or upgrade any part of the audio in the car,it sounds good enough for me...id be happy to put a Lexus replacement sub in but here in the uk the price from Lexus for a replacement is £127 :whistles: ...no way im going to pay that price as the one ive took out is just a paper cone one.Im going up to have a look at a second hand one at a breakers yard tomorrow...so all being well it will be a quick and cheap fix :D .....i was looking at replacing it with a kicker air free sub at £90,thats meant to be for sale in the shops over here at the end of the month..but like you say i would have to may be make new brackets for it to fix right.. Thanks for your info about the outputs
  21. :D :D :D mechanic your right there,i call them fitters....most people in the uk also call them mechanics ;)
  22. Hi all,im looking to replace my standard 8inch sub with a aftermarket sub.. Can anyone tell me the output of the amp that powers the sub...and how much the sub is rated at watts wise?
  23. Let us all know how you get on..which ones you go for ;)
  24. http://www.elitedirect.com/frameset3.html http://www.radisol.com/autosmart/main.htm http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/catalogue/ca...R012&tlgrp=R012 http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/ http://www.wheelmania.co.uk/pages/home.htm http://www.alloywheelsonline.com/ http://www.performancealloys.com/choose_co...visualization_2 That should keep you going :D :D :D
  25. Its a long story... I looked into getting a set of alloys for weeks and weeks...found out about the offset etc... They said the offset was 43...so i ordered 43!!...when i looked at the paper work it said they were 38 :chairshot: ......had to send all the wheels back to them...they had to be machined taking 3mm off the inside of the wheel where the wheel bolts to the hub...the wheels were sticking out to much hitting the wheel arch when driving on bumpy roads(everywhere in the uk )and under braking. So take it from me..get the right offset or YOU WILL RUN INTO PROBLEMS :D I didnt have to pay anything extra, but it took me 3 WEEKS to get the wheels back from them...PHONED THEM EVERYDAY :chairshot: .....they told me i would have them back after 2 or 3 days so i sent them back to them. Then when i finally got them back one had a chip in the rim where it must have been dropped ......then i had to wait for them to send me another ... So youve been warned :D :D ;) Where abouts in the uk are you then?
