  1. my 94 used to do that also i too it to lexus and they found nothing wrong with it when i still had a warrenty the problem has gone away since i added a cold air intake i think it was a problem with the throttle controller and vacum sensor which was being fooled by the car speeding up but it giving no additional fuel so the ecu was all confused as to why the car was going faster should be no problem with the tranny
  2. if find it interesting thanks for the details i just think of it as information to understand how you are rated she never said go and do it it is up to you so don't knock her for helping someone understand where they are getting extra billed for in Ontario if you do not tell them upfront of all tickets then they have the right to blacklist you and revoke the insuance which leaves you with no comanay that will touch you or a high risk broker who charges as much as a drunk driver homicide liscence rate for a perfectdriver who has a rolling stop sign ticket

  4. well if you are filling it up tehn you definatly have a leak more than likely it is because one of the rubber flex hoses at a wheel is brittle at the flanges to test which one press on your pedal hard quite a few times with the engine running it will either break or leave a puddle under that wheel also look for any drops anywhere where the car is parked to get an idea of it location i personally would not drive a car with brake failure because the second you need the brakes it will be gone not a good feeling to be braking with 1/4 -1/2 of the regualr braking power
  5. what anniversary was in 94 the 89-94 5 year anniversary one? i have never heard of an anniversary edition maybe it was a local dealer special edition i doubt it was a national program go a pic of the rims?
  6. it is only a problem if you leave it for months of have stone chips in the area as the paint is now bare and can oxidize
  7. the main thing to be careful of with power washers is the electrical components we all know there are way to many in there just cover tehm up and wipe em down after my alt looks real dirty still but looks as clean as the rest of the engien as it is lower down in the shadows go ahead and get dirty :o and clean that crap out of there
  8. i use a dual product from cd2 it is a degreaser alsmost any will work like gunk it is petroleum based but i am not going to let it sit on the car from longer than the 15minutes it takes to work i cover the alternator first with a plastic garbage bag spray the degreaser then power wash it off the engine turns out real nice then the second car is the clear coating that is hard like paint it goes on after and make the car look real good especially for shows keeps the engine bay real clean also about 20 for both cans look at the es 300 gallery for pics of my clean engine you'll be suprised i was
  9. try looking on the bmw boreds as they usse alot of the diy stuff to try and make the silvervisions as they are so damn expensive for a simple bulb i am sure someone tried a bunch of different paints and i have heard of them doing it alot since about 99 when they first got the silver visions so i am sure someone perfected it
  10. it just hold the gear longer and increase gas milage kind of a dummy button as if you need more power just press the gas and it does the same thing by holding the gearing changes
  11. interesting there is guy up here who has one on his 94 camry but the turbo is further back in the exhuast flow from what i have heard have you dyno tuned it or just run to see its numbers any internal changes to strengthen it up it does sound nice though i preferthe older steel block engine if it is going to be turbo'd as the guy up here( tony the tiger) has just blown his engine,he blew the tranyy 6 months ago also but sent it to level 10 to get upgraded what did the set up run $ actually would like to see the piping and if you ran an intercooler when ever you have time for a pic as it is a pic that people would love to see ,rather than a bone stock car in the pic gallery nice work by the way
  12. if your turbo is up front is it running off the rear and front of the exahust manifolds? or just the front manifold ? how long have you had it on the car ?
  13. there are 2 main types of lsd's the viscose which is clutch bands inside a goo that when one wheel is slipping makes one set of clutches spin and heat the goo causing contact and turning the opther wheel in the same rotation the other is a mechanical one which is the use of gears it causes a basic gear set i think planetary to spin locking both wheels together

  15. i don't think there is a lsd in an es there is vsc in some last 96 but started in 97 the tire marks are supposed to be uneven
  16. yah it might actually beat the us emmision specs as the asain goverments keep a tight rein on cars going bad atleast from what i have heard figure about a month in a container on boat and 6000 to ship it but it might be cheaper talk to us customs to see how much of abreak as no one on this site can give you an exact answer it is all up to uncle sam
  17. have you tried hitting the trunk area without closing it might help you get closer to the loose wireing unless it is a laser problem if hte radio is still on ad you get in with the trunk closed can the cd player work still? i have the same problem with my civic i have a clarion changer and every hard bump makes the changer spit out the cartridge
  18. well it seems that the bearings are gone on my pump i got under it and took the belt off and started the car and omg it was so quiet again and i was thinking for the last year or so i needed to get my valves adjusted but it seems tehy are perfectly in spec by it having no noise well atleast something good came of this it seems the dust cover on the bearings behind the pully had moved away from the pump so dirt and water got inside it so over the past year or so it has gotten progressivly worse the race that holds the ball bearings was damaged i am guessing from wear of the bearings getting small as they had no grease in there anymore and started to bind on the pump and the race could no longer hold the ball bearings at an equal distance apart thus causing it to bind and shave the metal apart unfortunatly there is no kit from lexus to rebuild the pump although the manual shows a full breakdown of all internal parts for disassembly and repair i hate to buy a new pump for $470 when all i need is a $2 bearing and race to support the pulley oh well it could have been worse and cost alot more i asked the dealer and he said he has never changed on on an es only the 400 engines on thels and such just my luck
  19. when is the last time you changed the brakes and bled the fluid
  20. ask him what codes were registered i cannot in any way see how gas will effect the vsc light to come on the 2 ecu's are seperate i am not too big a fan of that dealer i prefer don valley when i lived in scarborough
  21. the greyish colour is usually form metal particles int he fluid
  22. i think from other threads i have read it is in the dash on the passenger side
  23. do you want a permanent disable a temp both side or just the driver removing the airbag ecu will shut it down by unplluggni the harness may turn the light on the dash on though which basically will happen no matter what you do
  24. year of vehicle? P0330 KS 2 Circuit Malfunction i am not sure how this can be attributed to the tranny in any way unless you are pressing the gas too much making the TC not want to engage there are problems with the rx trannies as they are on back order talk to the dealer
