  1. yah there is a nut on the pulley but i am wondering if anyone elses es 300 has had a pulley or power steering pump go bad
  2. have you checked the rims for it being true? even a balancer can only get it to certain speeds but usually not perfect if the rim is bent
  3. you should still have warr take it back and let them find it it might be in the drivers door as that is going to be opend for sure and give the water more acess as the door flexes

  5. basically my cousins car when he shifts the car from park to neutral and back the rpm's shoot up 500 rpms this is not by leaving it in reverse but quickly just moving the lever so the tranny doesn't even have the chance to engage a gear if it wa in gear i could understand the rpm s going up as the tranny is being uncoupled from the wheels but it has no time to even engage just seemed weird anyone else have this problem as the car shifts normally otherwise when driving
  6. you didn't mention which year but are you putting the cd's in upside down i know in my 94 es it has to be label side down or it showed an error message
  7. one thing you might be able to do is clean the glass using a clay bar to remove any dirt then use a rain x type water repellant which is basically a hard acrylic that goes over the screen this will fill the tiny chips i have tehm also on my car but it doensn't bother me much also this is only a temp fix as it wear away over time

  9. have you looked at the general maintance guide? it has a self diagnostic for it but i would guess one of the dampener doors are not working to control the flow inside the dash
  10. the petroleum base is used to disolve dirt on tires to mak ethe dressing stick the main ingredient for the spray on ones the one i have that is a spray ( free from a car show) uses acetone
  11. going up one ratio is usually no problem if it says 215/60 16 then go to a 225/55 16 just ask the tire shop for a best fit on sizes that is only an example for a width change
  12. nope i meant spray nine i guess 409 can work also as it is just a real good cleaner
  13. grinds are probably coming from the rotors internal drum brake if a piece of debris gets intehre it will sit on the endge and gring away you forgot to mention if the noise stops as you keep driving another thing to do is always use the parkign brake flat surface or not it will help keep it from seizing and adjust the e barake also and it might eliviate the problem a grind is usually metal and another hard surface like metal or a rock
  14. anyone ever have to replace a bearing on the power steering pump or a pump on one at all? mainly the 94 and up ones as the previous 92-93 are probably different it seems that the last pulley that is way in the back of the engien bay is makeing a horrid noise it has its own belt from the crank shaft and it is spinning and grinding at the same time i also noticed that there aer slight metal shavings so i am guessing the bearing is worn and causing the pulley wheel to rub on the engine i was going to cut off the belt but then my coolant would not flrw properly not too bad since it is a straight highway drive home but did not want to risk it so i called lexus and after a while called me back to say there is no flatbeds availabe until 8am this is at midnight so i had to sleep over and the tow came this morning to take the car back to my house as the dealer is closed, since that is where they normally drive the car 2 but since it is a show car and a long weekend they dropped it off at home first time my car has ever broken and needed a tow ever. it still drives except for the racket it makes and i didn't want to drive it home just to hear bang as the puley lets go spraying my alternator with coolant and frying it then the pulley damaging the crank and the hood just to save a few buck and hassel what a night anyway anyone else had a pump go bad or the bearing and if so got ideas on pricing as i never heard of one being replaced i think i am going to pay for this damn thing being variable assist on the steering and for it running the fan also
  15. sometiems it is dirt along the panel slowing down the belt try pulling the belt all the way out and cleaning it with spray nine and for best results take off the panel ,clean the inside of it and then as much of the components as possible for the retractor
  16. i don't think there is a petroleum base int he tire dressing did you buy one of those one step spray and walk away dressings? rather than one you have to wipe on?
  17. if it starts by the roof it might be just that is tehre any extra gaps around the weather stripping? also it might be the sunroof drain has come undone it runs from the sun roof all the way to the bottom of the car along the front pillar
  18. is it a 1991 or a 1992 sounds like either a realy is stuck or a good short in the system does the hazard light make them blink?
  19. you are right the rim diameter and the inside bead diameter of the rim have to match or else it will not seat to hold the air in
  20. they are going to be in full production shortly in Cambridge Ontario, Canada which is 20 minutes from Toronto about 40 minutes from the Niagra fallls New York border

  23. you will need to repair it it is sensing an open cuircit you need to short the wires before the break or atleast see if the plug on the side of the bottle is off
  24. you have a problem that needs to be diagnosed go straight to the dealer
