  1. Ok i'm getting the po446 code on my 97 es300, i read that theres an extended warranty? Does that warranty include if i'm not the original owner??my car is now 10 yrs and about 130,000 miles. would i be covered under that warranty. The code that came back to me was Code PO446 EVAP Vent Solenoid Problem. Now would that be the same problem that was first listed on this topic? changing the charcoal canister?? Weird also that someone posted that the Check engine light and Trac Light is on at the same time, its exactly that way for me too.
  2. Oh no its 2.85 for regular here back in '99 is when it was 75-85 cents. I had no idea people would be getting into this post as much. I posted this out of shear outrage and now i find myself laughing my butt off.
  3. OMG i just did a quote from that website and all the parts came up exactly, except they came up nearly $400 less, now i got some considering to do now, thanks a lot for that link!
  4. Well I went to the Lexus dealer by me today, and i asked them to quote me some prices. I now know why It took so long to for me to go up to the dealer. For all 4 Struts and the support assemblies, and this is just the price of material mind you, is $1737.74 .
  5. I graduated High school in 99 and I had an 84 Buick Lesabre V8 everyweek i had a hockey game and once i week at least for like 4 weeks I would fill up with gas that was 75 cents a gallon. I'm in delaware, and games would be in South Jersey, namely Deptford. I was a poor high school student filling up my Big buick for like 20$
  6. I wanna know, cuz these fricking gas prices are insane. $2.80 - $3.05 a gallon. Not to sound like my grandparents but I remember back in 1999 I could get a gal of gas for 75 cents. ah the good old days. Still keeping my es300 but a MOPED with the lexus emblem on the front sounds mighty nice right now.
  7. Ok my Es300 is 2 toned, (no really) yeah really. :chairshot: Anyways over a year ago I got into a little fender dinger with a guardrail. Thankfully I only messed the right front fender, the corner light, and the side of the front bumper shell but not the hood. it took a few months to get the replacement parts, but i still haven't got it painted/blended in with the rest of the car. I'm looking to maybe get the paint myself and i've looked online at where the paint code for the car is and i think i found it. my 97 is the oyster/champagne color paint I believe the code for that is C/TR:4M7/LF61. Now the only confusion is that not only will i need to get the primary color but i need to get the secondary grey color of the 2 tone on the car. is the grey color the same on the 97-01 es300's and if so what is the code for the grey. Or is it somehow included in the code i just gave.
  8. Ok if I was to go onto KYB website to look for struts for my car whether they have AVS option or not. Is the strut the only thing i need to do i need to get anything else. THe car creaks and knocks over bumps. Is there more parts to the Strut assembly that can go bad other than the spring and strut, like any other top or bottom pieces. I am very confused, I had an 84 Buick lesabre and the car was easy to work on, if the shock was bad, Boom you change the shock. things were a lot easier, now i'm just completely confused.
  9. Now that I know what the type of suspension is called now, (AVS) Does anyone know where I can get those kind of struts without going to the dealer. Push comes to shove thats what I'm gonna have to deal is suck it up and go to the dealer :cries: . If I don't have to that would be great
  10. I have a 97 es300 with 100k+ miles on it. I have searched and found lots of topics on struts and parts for it. However none of the topics said anything about the car they own having the SPORT/COMFORT option on the middle console below the shifter. I've searched on the sites that some of the members have recommended but none of the struts that came up had the "electronic suspension control" (sorry i do not know the technical term) option on their suspension. I would like to replace my struts with the same exact ones so that my ride stiffness option can still be used. What other parts would I need to get to completely replace the struts (the rubber bushings and all that) . Does anyone know about how much to expect to pay for the parts with the electronic suspension option? I'm sure i'm missing more to ask but its very confusing because auto parts stores only have struts without the electronic suspension, and i don't want to order online and get stuck with the same struts I can get at the parts store near me. And a last case senario would be I guess I would just have to bite the bullet and go to a Lexus Dealership.
  11. thank you, It's such a strange thing, i've always wondered how bad i would feel if my lex did get into an accident, but I tell ya, after the accident happened i wasn't even concerned with my car but the well being of my girl and wether or not we would be stranded out there or not. It sucks but it now gives me a shot in the arm to finally take care of a couple ding's in the car i've always had and to have to car re-painted.
  12. Sorry guys, I've been M.I.A. I met a great girl and you know how that can be. Anyways....I was visiting my girfriends family in Ohio over the thanksgiving weekend end. Well we just got done going out to see a movie and leaving the parking lot I was sitting at a Red-light. At the red light i'm talking to my girl and then all of a sudden this big pick-up truck pulled behind me we what looked like his Hi-beams on. After a few seconds of being annoyed the light changed but at all the while the light had changed green so i started to go. ( oh by the way the intersection was a "T" and i was making a left) To my stupidness and annoyance i started to fiddle with my rear view mirror and turn at the same time. to make a long story short I made about 97% of my turn untill I kissed the guard rail and damaged a bit of my lower bumper, Right fender and Right cornering light. well yesterday I went online to a website called Fast Auto Body parts.com and they had every part i needed. 3 parts to be exact for under 400$ I think is a good deal and i put the order in and am now waiting. Just thought i'd let ya all know and i'll keep ya updated on my progress when i finally get my parts and put them on. 1 Corner light, 1 right fender and one lower bumper all for less then 400$.
  13. Oh i forgot to Add is $800 the price for just the stock amp or for the amp and labor?? if its the price for the amp and labor then (and u want to just replace the stock amp) just ask for the price of the amp because replacing the amp is literally removing the glove compartment and then taking 2 nuts off the stock amp and unplugging the connector and then plugging the new amp back in and bolting everything back up. It is no how difficult to do. Sorry but i am one for not having to pay for somthing so expensive when it can easily be done by ones self
  14. if u don't want an "uber system" and just a replacement system that sounds well better then what u had, buy a aftermarket head unit (example Kenwood-X579 50 watts by 4 for 220$) have it professionally installed and, unless u haven't blown any of the stock speakers, u should be able to use everything u have in ur car minus ur stock amp and stock cd changer for well less then 800$ for just the stock amp. Sounds to me like they are trying to get one over on you. an aftermarket head unit like the one i describe for that price has a built in crossover for the speaker layout that the 97 es300 has and will sound soo very much better. You won't need to replace the speakers if you want just an enjoyable ride experience. that is Unless u want to start shaking windows out of their panes. bottom line 800$ for a stock replacement amp is entirely TOO MUCH money for what you would be getting.
  15. could it be the wheel bearings? does it sound like parakeets chirping? or maybe its the front rotor is warping.
