  1. Most cigrette plugs are the same length only different heights, which is why there are universal cigarette plugs for phones radios and so on. get a cheap one from walmart it is the same thing. Lexus shouldn;t charge more than $5
  2. that would be the first place to look then replace the cap and rotor for the distributer.
  3. here is a pic of mine , which is still under construction
  4. It is a waste of time to change the headlights and bulbs especially since you need to make sure you get the bulb headlight and ballasts. Otherwise it is useless most wreckers would never sell the set for that cheap . Get the aftermarket kit and save the hassel Also the rear suspension is where the sensor is mounted and measures the amount of travel from the body to adjust the lights angle ( not all 4 suspension corners)
  5. try doing a search i answered this same question like a week ago
  6. It all depends on the shop ,if the guy is reasonable ( since lexus prices aren't) and reliable then go for it,if it is out of warrenty. If it is still under warrenty then have lexus do it to be on the safe side.
  7. Well then you might need to have a pro diagnosis it before . Do you hear a click when you activate the light stalk to high beam position and does the blue light on the cluster illuminate ?
  8. It is not really an issue of detergents but the synthetic filtering process ( hence the name synthetic) It basically removes more waxes to make a better flowing oil which makes it superior to conventional filtering duno. This makes is more noticcable for leaks . It doesn't cause them it just lets you know you already have them and it passes through the smaller holes in gaskets. If you got to dyno and to syn there is no problem to do either or. It is up to you there is no kind of damage bettween them, It is the difference bettween filtered water and tap water. You can drink both ,but why?
  9. that's odd, usually a white exhaust smoke means it is burning coolant. especially since the cat is still cold and not working. Black smoke is from it running rich? Hey atleast it worked.
  10. the ect does nothing in regard to fuel injection duration. your hp is the same you are just held in the torque band of the engine more.
  11. Possible ,but have you tested the wiring with a multimeter?
  12. I use pre wax cleaner or mothers chrome rim polish
  13. actually it is , feel by catching on your nail not hand. and if it does catch then it is too deep to be buffed out.
  14. just a thought Got gas? did he clean the engine?
  15. year? did you need a battery boost lately? get it reprogrammed at the dealer
  16. Wallet keys have no chip which is why tehy can only get you in the car but not start it. Lexus roadside assistance is i think 7 years in canada then $70 per year afterwards ,worth every cent. I had tehm pay to get my key cut and delivered. as well as a flatbed to tow my car home ( it was a long weekend and the dealer was closed ,so tehy needed a safe place to keep the vehicle and towed it to my house instead of the dealer only) Plus gas and other boosts over the years.
  17. If you want a real upgrade find someone sellig a set of supra twin turbo 4 pot calipers and rotors
  18. memorize the number it is 1800-25 lexus in the states 1800-26 lexus in canada but they still would have had to get a key made and shipped. or paid for your taxi there and back to get the key I had one delivered at 4am one night . Luckly the only canadian key cutter was only 20 minutes away. Lexus woke him up to make the key, he wasn;t very happy.
  19. Here in toronto ,they are franchised soters with emploes that are trained at the head office in pitsburb or somewhere in the states. Or you can buy the tools for about 5000 and get training for 2 weeks. I got my wifes sunfire done with a bout 22 dings all over for 200 canadian total of 6 hours and it looked amazing. This was an unbelivable price ,but i also sent him alot of buisness and he owned that particular dent doctor.
  20. I don't take my car through car washes ( the one pictured with the girl ) But at a self wash power washer bay it hasn;t peeled a bit which has more force than a regular car wash.
  21. The reason i asked why is drilled for wet brakeing is because i wanted to know if i was unaware of something. Slotted would do more to directed gases away faster than drilled as drilled is used to keep the overall temperature down.Drilling too many holes causes fractures as does in the wrong spots. The should be in the center of a vent spline of the rotor if applicable. Once heat is generated it will remove almost all the water by itself no need for drilled or slotted. It is great for reducing brake fade especially. On a road car drilled are only going to be used for looks as you probably will never need the temps reduced from normal driving ,if you are then you would have already been using SS brake lines and dot 5 silicone brake fluid already.
  22. Actually the oil colour darkening is a natural sign of oil. It does not tell if it is broken down , as it used to be with older dyno oil before it became more complex than just digging a hole in the ground.
  23. They can get stuck on either . especially if it is the wrong flange style.
  24. WHat is the biggest advantage of drilled in the wet?
