  1. Man, you mean just put the whole mat in the washer?? That won't mess up the rubber will it? I may try it though...I have nothing to lose since I was probably gonna buy some new ones anyway. But its worth a try since its not really the stain but the smell.
  2. Does any one know of a cheap alternative to the dealer?? My wife spilled fish grease on the from passenger side and I CANNOT get rid of the damn smell!! Oh well, if anyone has some for sale or knows of a cheap place to get mats let me know. Thanks. Oh yeah, I'm looking for black.
  3. I'm a little biased but I would definitely go with the Black exterior (and interior if you like that). While black exterior would require a little more maintenance and TLC, its well worth it when you have it shining clean and waxed...there is nothing that makes a car look more sleek than a freshly waxed black finish. But once again, I'm a little biased since I've only owned black cars for the past 7 years...but like someone said, you will have to wax and wash regularly or every little scratch and speck of dirt will show up....but boy do they look nice clean!!!
  4. I had the same issue with my GS 300...although I did have aftermarket rims...but when the centering rings didn't stop the vibrating, I took it to the dealer and they did the "laser alignment" and had some sort of computer based balancing machine where they don't take the wheels off...either way they had something fancy shmancy that most tire shops don't have. Now the problem is solved...my GS rides just as smooth as a brand new car with new tires. They showed me a computer print out of the balancing and what they did to rectify the situation. My suggestion is to take it to a Lexus dealer or some other high tech shop that would have something like this and see if they can fix it. Oh yeah, it cost about $120 bucks for this.
  5. Its been a long while since I posted but I had to tell somebody!! Just came back from the KC Auto show and besides the BMW M5, the new GS was the only car I came to see...and I wasn't disappointed. That car had all the extra options you could ever want!! From the standard "navy system like" features to the push button start, I love it. This is definitely the next car I get! I'm not sold on the new body style just yet but once I see one in black I will be in love. :) ....anyway, I'm VERY jealous of anyone who has one already and would love to see more pics if anyone has them. Anyway, on a sad note, I will probably have to sell my 99 GS in the next few months cuz I'm considering Law School....but it will be very tough to give it up. I've put so much work into customizing it the way I want but she will have to go unless I win the lotto or something. If anyone is interested, I will probably make another website with details before I sell it on ebay or something.
  6. Maaaannnn.... for all that I might as well just hire a midget to live in my car and turn it off for me every time I get in the car.
  7. What I meant by "rides better" was that I don't have to worry about the transmission seeming like its slipping when I'm trying to take off from a stop sign or something. When the VSC is off I can take off like a normal car without the engine reving and me going nowhere. I do however see the need for it especially on rainy days. I just want it to be my option to turn it "on" when I need it and not "off" when I don't need it.
  8. How can I set the VSC default to be in the "Off" position? My car rides a lot better with it shut off but the default is for it to be on so whenever I turn off the car I have to press the switch to turn it off. I know there is a way where I can make it so that when I start the car its already switched "off". How can I do this or do I have to take it to the dealer??
  9. Is there any way you can confirm that recall? A website or something? And what happens when you take your car to the dealer once there has been a recall? Do they just fix the problem or do they do some other stuff?
  10. One quick question...how do you control the satelite radio? Do the song titles and channel listings come up where the normal display is? Do the controls for the CD changer also control the satelite? Or are you just using what would be the equivalent to an FM modulator??
  11. How much did all that end up costing?? Sounds like it might be worth it...400 HP!
  12. Thanks...that PB Blaster worked like a charm...I didn't even have to work too hard to get them off...just spray and remove...thanks for the tip! :)
  13. Don't waste your time or money. I got the L-tuned springs and some 18" rims and that alone upgrades the steering and handling. I didn't notice any difference when I installed the ECU. I sure could use that $145 right now...if you aren't going to upgrade anything else i.e. lowered, shocks, after market rims, etc...then there might be a difference but if you are planning to upgrade other stuff then save your money and don't get the ECU. Just my 2 cents...
