  1. nope it has no traction. It is only possible on the mcv10 with a late odel 96 which had the early 97 setup in it. I have seen them on one 96 camry only. It is an even larger module attached to the abs modulator.
  2. kuhno's are a POS do not buy them ,take them or even use them for a tire swing. They are very attractive as a set of cheap rubber but that is it. they don;t grip they buldge on the sidewall and have not good qualities other than it is something inbetween the road and the rim.
  3. I also repalced my weather stripping on my 94 a few yeasr ago it had no normal signs of problems but i thought it would help, It didn;t at all. It wasn;t that expensive maybe 200 for both sides of the car. The bar in between the doors is called the b pillar , It is part of the weather strip . You can scrape the rest off if you want as it is only a thin strip bettween them. If you replace the strip it comes with a new painted peice.
  4. you have mulitple issues with parts you are unsure of. You need to have the car physically looked at, other wise it is a guess. It would have been beeter to post in an already started topic that is related as to already cover mentioned fixes. The creaking has been mentioned how to fix , the dolhin noise is probably the tires rubbing the body because of a damaged wheel or suspension part. You need to get the car looked at.
  5. You sound like you have a good understanding of it bruce. I personally think you wouldn't need use a 40w oil in a newer car ,i perfer to use it in a higher milage one that could use the extra barrier for taking up tolerances in worn parts. 5 50 is over kill for many areas unless the car is used heavily in stop and go traffic. 0 30 is better for performance in regards to the co efficent of friction of the ligther weight oil. I perfer reduced frictoin over mpg. 0 40 makes more sense in an older car than a newer one which would have less need for it.
  6. and don't forget the 02-03 camry se. ;)
  7. If you have a faulty gas gauge then you have no idea. Fill the tank all the way up ,drain it till it stalls and keep a jerry can to fill it up. If you never get right down to the bottom you may have deposits of silt in the tank but there is a filter in the tank before the pump and after to take care of contaminents. That will giev you a more precise reading than any other. Also all gas gauges are made to be a meter not an exact reading. As tehy all are slow until 1/2 then seem to drink gas. It is no different than any other car as it is made to meter the last 1/4 of the tank more precisely than the first half. After all do you really care if you are 8/10 or 9/10 full. It would make more of a difference on a 500 mile drive ,knowing how much you have as the last half is usually more important
  8. Please do not continue this group buy as neither of you are authorised to set one up. The unichip is very good but unless tehy advertise on the loc there are no group buys. Let me know if you are interested in being one to have a GB.
  9. Call lexus head office to verify wetehr it is the original vehicle or not. It should not have a temp vin maybe a stock number but a temp vin is for stolen recovered vehicles or any other vehicle with no vin from the factory
  10. I am not sure ,but have you tried to remove the center cap of the rim and tap it off back wards with a large 19mm or larger socket and a hammer?
  11. Call lexus and let them know about the defect. They might be happy to know and help in some way.
  12. As the faq states the factory system is not made for high power just very efficent if you change anythign you have to change everything. There is no bass as the speakers are not getting enough power as the amp cannot produce it. The original speakers worked as tehy were efficent and made use of low power .
  13. I supposed you are right , but he is only taking another cars decals and placing it on an auto art rx 300. They are very good models for 1:18 as i also have the same one. But saying it is a washington police vehicle when it is just some stickers ,to me is wrong. If he was selling a kit to make any vehicle it then i suppose it would be different. Besides does washington state troopers use an RX ,i highly doubt it.
  14. Sorry my bad i read it as 5000 as you noted . 50 is still too high. I have a set of plug and play hid's on mine and have sold and installed over 15 sets that are also plug and play the rebased ones should cost no more than 300 canadian as they are way too much work to put in . They where originally designed for motorcylces with weird bulbs. There are simpler solutions to get hid's . Definatly not for 500 usd 500 canadian is a more reasonable price ,but i have not priced the US market ones now that they are illegal to sell.
  15. I had mine adjuseted on the drivers side for 150 and they ended up making it worse. The easiest and best fix as i mentioned in the faq is to use silicone spray or the meguires tire endurance on all the sunroof doors and trunk seals to seal all in and out air traffic
  16. The ps pump is located on the ower side of the engine behind the subframe on the passanger side.
  17. Maybe it is me but from that picture it is just a cheapass POS rebase kit which needs to be modified to fit with another bulbs base. A complete waste of time. $5000 that is the most rediculas price for any hid kit unless it was a full oem kit with headlights and levelers
  18. I don;t agree with the hovering but i already stated that. I do agree that throttle regualtion and braking is needed in emergency manouvers .
  19. It is a common problem with the gauge cluster. DO a search and you might find the fix.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...5&category=9088 the picture is of a regualr auto art 1:18 scale rx 300 with a glued on roof light bar and simple decals probably off the truck behind it in the picture.
  21. The germans use a projector with a lens cut off or angle of the projector to creaet a blueish hue on the edges like diamonds do. The kits are all the same only difference is the generation of phillips ballasts and K valuie of the bulb which is its colour. Do not get a rebased kit which has to be modified but a simple install one which has the phillips patented 9005 and so one bases. Phillips owns the technology for all ballasts and bulbs as well as the bases. So other companies have to buy them from phillips and relabel them ,unless it is a rebase.
  22. bsa or asa both used to sell the rims, now i think it wouldbe only discontinued stock to find them in.
  23. I don;t know what halogen bulb # you have .But get a regualr direct replacement for it by buying the plug and play kits for the bulb #.Usually cheaper than 500 and takes 10 minutes to install.
  24. :o It is all a matter of perspective , if you where taught using both feet then you would feel it is better and it seems logial to think it is faster. BUT It is slower to use both feet ! Test yourself hold one hand( if you are right handed use your right , if left handed do the same ) against a desk and your other 6 inches above the desk. Now pull up the one against the desk and push down the one in the air as fast as you can. After doing this a few times you will get better but in an emergency reaction you will only have the speed of the first time you tried it. There are not retests. Your brain is trying to counter one movement while applying another. You will either have one foot still on the gas while the brakes as being applied and reduce you breaking . To do this properly in a car you need one foot ont 2. If for any reason you are in doubt of going faster then use the "hover " which is remove the right foot from the gas and hovr over the brake. Which is what you should do through all intersections anyway.
  25. Alarms especially remote starters should be installed by a professional. Who gets the wiring schematics and colour code from a program and has experiance putting it in. I have a starter and am an automotive tech and very good with car and home wiring and audio and creating lan systems ,but i still would not attempt to do it myself to save a couple of bucks.
