  1. The elderly ( snowbirds) are in florida all winter which is 9 out of 12 months, kidding . We only have 2 seasons in toronto winter and construction. lmao I dont; like winter either but i dislike hurricane earthquakes tornado's rednecks and Bush worse.
  2. Their is supposed to be a small peice of wire ( not sure if you can see it) that attaches the chip to the key (metal) to use it as the ant for the key.
  3. right at the top of the forum it has a thread for this?!!
  4. the iridiums are fine. Why are you using 89 octane? you spend so much modifying the car and use cheap gas? Your engine is prone to engine carbon buildup so by useing lower octane your are compounding the problem.
  5. moved to modifications
  6. find the pin and make it stick in one position when you stick a tape in it switches to tape mode which means their is no use for the ant being up if you run the radio while a tape is inserted it should return the ant up . The noise is a turn off signal lapse , you might have an aftermarket amp running your speakers with a badly wired remote signal as well as the amp being cheap
  7. the parking brake left on will only damage the shoes in the rotos not the pads and rotors , so that is not a possibility. You also did not explain why they were bad as all in all that is meaningless.
  8. All dealers use shop rate according to a book. Only mechanics vary Lots of people i know have change dmaf's with no reprogramming only the tps sensor needs to be recalibrated to the ecu from my understanding. TRD bar fits the mcv20 97-01 You don;t need to change struts to lower a car an inch Is rims work fine but the offsets are a bit high and could use a good 10mm spacer to bring them from 50 to 40mm
  9. Lexus doesn;t know anything about starters or installing them, the ones they do get put in are the cheapest bidder for installation and product who goes to the dealer to install it. For the same price of around $1000 to have it installed the same guy would install it at his shop for $300 You need to figure out features you want to buy one.
  10. I have never heard of a belt freying although it is going to when it is about to break. Also never heard of any car dieing because of a bad battery when already running. Something smells fishy with your dealer.
  11. lol igloo houses. Funny ,i see more siding houses compared to brick ones here. I was amazed at the (so called ) highend end neibourhood my cousin lives in Jersey and all the houses looked cheap with siding. Just a random thought
  12. so is it a problem of range or just the noise is not being made? I am not positive of your location for the chirper but mine is in the front bumper a small cylinder looks like the airbag sensors as well.
  13. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=ebay++wheels
  14. read the FAQ is their an echo in here?
  15. all filters have a valve some are glued others are welded oem is usually welded not glued
  16. I agree if the belt broke it is not supposed to btreak anything else since the valves are non interference meaing they don;t touch the pistons still moving when the belt no longer connects them to move both up and down according to timing. Lexus is expensive but all sounds like it needs to be done. for $3000 you will have a very solid car afterwards. Not sure how they know a valve is bent since that would mean they have to take apart the engine or replace the belt to hear it. the mounts may be a nessacary part but usually not detremental depending on the degree of engine rotation they are allowing. Are you sure you ran out of coolant? they rest is unknown without seeing the car. you have to get a new belt to drive the rest can be done elsewhere cheaper including changing the belt. It costs 600 at lexus but less everywhere else. Shimming the valve is to only stop them from making tapping noises which if the engine isn;t running is impossible to know, so i don;t know how they can know that if the belt hasn;t been changed yet.
  17. then take off the battery tterminals it takes 3 system runs of driving the car not just turning the key to rest the light.
  18. Add some brake fluid and the problem will be fixed
  19. ^^^ called an iacv
  20. now, I could live there :) ← lmao ,it is called Canada
  21. i find that offensive it is not a sausage muffler but it is regarded as a tomato soup can muffler and tip lmao
  22. you did not mention how much brake fluid is in the resevouir? are you talking about the red brake light on the dash ,the same one that activates when you use the emergency brakes?
  23. like monarch says their are only a few toyota filters that also work on all 90 and up toyota engines
  24. your engien is the same as an es search in that section someone did post pics a while back
