  1. Thanks monarch, this is the info I was looking for.
  2. I've found that an oil filter from my Lexus dealer is far more expensive than any filter sold at the Toyota dealer. Like 50% higher! I bought a filter from the Toyota dealership that belongs to the V6 Highlander. Which I believe is the same as the RX300. Does anyone know if this is correct? Or what Toyota filter crossreferances with the Lexus RX300?
  3. Is there anyway to tightin up the swivel armrest on the captin chairs up front on a 2001 RX300? I noticed there is a cap on the end of the armrest, but I didn't want to force it off.
  4. I have a 2001 RX300 for sale. It has a few more miles on it, but its sludge free. I've had all recommened service done to the vehicle, the last major maintance was performed at 60,000 with all oil changes done at around 5000-6000 miles. Its in great shape and I'm asking $21,500 for it. Email me if you are interested. Or check out the this link http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...olor=&cardist=0 cuball142002@yahoo.com
  5. I've just noticed that my wifes RX300 is getting some bad steering wheel vibration when braking. Its a side to side vibration and is more noticable when I'm heavy on the brakes. Does this sound like a warped rotor issue? I still have 25m on my Lexus Certified Warranty. Do you think this would be covered?
  6. My first post says I have 75m on the vehicle. And the year is in my signiture at the bottom of the post. Thanks for all the info everyone.
  7. Well it's a funny thing. Its seems to have become an issue when I purchused my Toyota Tundra with the I-force V8. Maybe there is nothing wrong with the engine. My wife and I may have just become spoiled by the horsepower from my new truck. Although its only about 40 horses more than the RX, it does have a lot more torque. I haven't seen any engine light come on at all. So I don't think its the O2 sensor. But the tuneup with a set of new plug wires sounds like a good place to start. I think I can eliminate the converter. BTW, I just had the 60m maintance performed on the vechicle about 3 months ago. Wouldn't they have changed the spark plugs then? I guess I can go thru my records to see if they were changed.
  8. Does anyone know when the Catalytic converter should be changed on a RX300? Mine seems to have gradually lost power and I'm trying to pin point the problem. This is the first thing that comes to mind. I have 75,000 miles on the original converter. Any ideas of the cost?
  9. I have a 2001 RX300 and I had the belt replaced around 60m. It wasn't making a horrable sqeeling noise. But it did make a sqeek like there was a bearing getting dry. I mentioned it to the dealer and he replaced the belt. It is very quite now, and is back sounding like a Lexus. I think you will notice a big change when the belt is changed. I think the cost was around $100. BTW it did start to sqeel a few days after the new belt was installed. But after taking it back to the dealer for a re-adjustment, its been fine. So you will have a little strech in the belt a few days after it's installed and will need it re-adjusted. ;)
  10. My highbeams work fine, never replaced them yet. Its the normal headlight bulb thats the issue. I do NOT have them on all the time. I use the "Auto" feature on the headlights switch. They come on when I start the car in the garage. Because its dark the sensor turns on the headlights, when I back out of the garage the headlights turn off. As far as cleaning the bulbs go. Is it neccessary when coming directly of the package? Do you use a cotton towel? I know your not to touch the bulb with your bare hands, which I've never none. Has anyone had any luck with PlasmaGlow bulbs? They have a 10 year warranty and will exchange them when they blow out. Sounds to good to be ture.
  11. I have a 2001 RX300. I owed the vehicle for about 18 months. I had one of the headlamps go out about 6 months ago and decided to replace both with a set of Sylvania's Silver Stars. They put out a nice white light and I really enjoyed them until one of them when out. Only lasted about 6 months! At $40 pair I thought this can't be right. Is this normal life for a halogen bulb? I also wanted to mention that I do use the auto headlights on my vehicle. The lights come on everytime I start the car in the garage. Will this cause exsessive wear on the bulbs? Its not a easy task to change these bulbs and not to mention the cost. I really would like a product that would last a year or more. Any suggestions?
