  1. I am interested in getting a remote starter for my wife's 01' RX but I have read that getting an aftermarket starter installed is a bit tricky. Does anyone know if having an aftermarket one put in will affect the security system, etc. What would be the cost to purchase one from Lexus and have them install it? Any insight would be great. Thanks.
  2. You easily get them at a dealership, but you'll pay for them!! I have found numerous sites online that sell Lexus all weather floor mats for around $50 and even less. Just search around. Good Luck.
  3. You're welcome. I was going to suggest the same thing to PlanetLexus... try doing it with the engine on and see what happens. It shouid beep pretty quickly if you do it right. Good Luck.
  4. A few months ago I replaced my standard halogens with Silverstars and to be honest, I wasn't really impressed. They are a bit whiter and brighter, but not worth the $40 a pair in my opinion. I didn't notice much difference driving at night. Nothing compares to true HID. Also, they blew out after 1 month, both at the same time! I wouldn't spend the money on them, but that's just my opinion.
  5. Tell me about it! To be honest I didn't call the dealership where I bought it to tell them the situation because I know I will be told that they didn't do it, plus we didn't notice it until a few days later and thought it was just glue until I tried to get it off and realized it was scratched. I just found out yesterday from my Lexus dealership that the marks are actually scratches in the glass and it is not covered under warranty. It will cost $215 for a new window plus labor. I agree, I don't understand how a car dealership could be so careless, no matter what kind of car you're buying from them!!
  6. I haven't really looked into getting it fixed. I would imagine the only thing that can be done is to replace the window for who knows how much! I'll ask the dealer the next time I bring it in.
  7. To program your settings all you need to do is push SET together with number 1 or number 2 until you hear a beep. It's pretty simple. You have to do this with the engine on or the key in the on position and the gear shift in park. Hope this helps.
  8. I just recently purchased a 2001 RX300 from a non-lexus dealer and when we got it home my wife and I noticed that the rear driver side window had major scratches on the factory tint where the window sticker was. My thought is that the dealer scrathed it when removing the sticker before we picked it up. Has anyone ever heard of scratches like this and if so can Lexus re-tint it or does a whole new window need to be put in. Also would this by any chance be covered under the factory warranty? Any information anyone has to enlighten me whould be great. Thanks.
