agreed ,sort of The powersteering pump can be remaned by anyone ,what parts are used is what will make it last or not a disabled pump can cause a problem on a 92-96 es which uses a hydralic cooling fan so it can overheat if it stops but should be fine if driven at over 30 mph i am pretty sure the 97 uses an electric fan though good luck the better way to evaluate the pump is to look how long the warr replacement is 6 months forget about buying it 12 months is ok but 2 years is someoen who stands behind their work

In older pre-99 S-class MBenz has so much wood trim paneling that it smells like their is broken walnut shells covering the interior. First time i got in one i thought the owner ate nuts and left the shells all under the seats as i couldn't see them ? ha ha lol :)

ok the key turns then............? nothing? lights dim? starter clicks? engien turns over but does not start?

if yours stream it is because someon tampered with them and damaged the nozzels which are supposed to give out a fine wide and flat mist by someone putting something in the ends they opened up the nozzel causing them to now stream out you need to replace them

I didn;t know kyb made the inserts i though they only made full shocks for the 92-96 I think the mechanic is refering to the bump stops which don;t control the travel but stop the shock from exploding by having them fully retracted from a hard bump it basically sits on the sturt rod at the top af the shaft against the upper mount you can use your old bump stops no need to change them as they don;t break never heard of a bellow for a strut

agreed but be carful as too much force or a large pin will cause the spray nozzle to get damaged and it will only stream out after and not a wide spray

you need a throttle body cleaning it needs to be cleaned on the insdie of it not the outside

go to you loclal lexus dealer and ask the servie advisors if they have any extra old keys you can use for parts they gave me one for free

Welcome The headlight issue should be if you only pressed lock once it shuold be on an adjustable timer and will shut the ilghts off by itself but you can overide it by pressing it X2

I keep saying this external tranny filter ,i posted info previously to install in 10 minutes and for $50 it gave me my tranny back after it slowly over 3 weeks cleaned my valve body of debris which clogged ti, my cousin who runs a tranny shop half a football feild deep said it wouldn;t work but i always belive in trying things. He still doesn't belive it is fixed, if only i had put it in before i had problems

It may help turint the wheel to unlock the pin but form others who had this problem they had to get a locksmith and replace the ignition to get the car working again you should be under warr though

They will pick up the bill I had Mc donalds pay to clean my interior because they made a special plastic cup that didn't fit the tray they gave me, you can only guess what 2 big gulp sized cokes can do to an interior take it to lexus to get it done if anything screws up from them they will look after it

it may be the valve located on the firewall halfway down on the passanger side it has a steel cable and a 1 inch hose coming from the engine and the otehr end after the control valve going in the fire wall to the heater core try doing the diagnostics i posted in the general maintance section.

i am guessing you mean the light on the dash not the actual taillights? have you topped off the fluid since changing the parts as you probably had enough fluid before the brakes were bedded in and now it needs more

When you turn the key does the engin make a click noise? does the starter turn the engine over but not fire up? or no noise just dimming lights when you turn the key? immobilisers usually only prevents firing but the engine will turn over when the key is turned

Sure it is possible if you have about 8 hours to spare you'll have to remove the center console trim on a pillars all lower dash shrouds radio climate control cluster vents you may have to remove the steering wheel and everyother small part on the dash I would never recommend anyone ever remove a dash unless it was detremental as afterwards it WILL rattle and squeek like made if not perfectly refitted which i have never seen and if you forget one small part like a curve in the vent piping it won;t work a very detailed heavy and long job to do especially without the OEM lexus service manual showing where everysingle screw bolt nut and fastener is
