  4. you have to also realize sema is inclusive of aftermarket products that are not only HP related things like regular headlight bulbs tires and replacement air and oil filter and other normal stuff of that nature so napa goodyear and other ordinary parts are included in that gross figure
  5. a cone filter is for a replacment intake otherwise you can only get the drop in flat panel one
  6. personally almost any other with a socket set cna do it themselves in about 2 hours and a $10 can of throttle body cleaner and an old toothbrush. I only say 2 hours because you cna go slow fastest is probably 30 minutes for experiance members. the egr can and has been cleaned by others. I would pay 2 hours max for shop time see if you can negotiate with the dealer to do it since it doesn't involve replacing anything
  7. it might be you powersteering pump leaking on your alternator

  18. WOW i must say i commend you on making a more than excellent first post this is better than most vintage members but truthfully your problem is common normally i tell people to seach but from the time you spent to give such a detailed question i will spell it out for you. Your problem is carbon all 97-01 1mz-fe engines have it you need to clean your iacv egr and throttle body. best bet is to look for a local place to do a motorvac then if nessacary remove the iacv and clean it their are atleast 100 posts on the problem some with pics
  19. All auto climate controlled cars turnt he a/c on even if it is max heat you can turn it off if you want though but the auto light shuts off but the rest of the controls are still computer controlled
  20. read the faq then the workshop tutorial for the step by step of changing them
  21. Did you own a 97 RX in the first year of its life? All cars have issues that were not anticipated from the engineers when it is the first of a new design. what would you rather have a broken switch or a broken crankshaft like a ford focus with 20 miles?
  22. Who did the fluid change? what type of fluid did they use? flush or drain ? If you are gettting a $450 charge anyway, get it done , but make sure you get an iron clad warr and from a good shop
