  1. Read your posts again, you put down everything he said in all of them. Some people do like their ES for performance and a lot of the folks on this forum would love to read about performance mods. Annoying is posting after every time another member posts to disdain "performance" posts, so check yourself before you call other members names.
  2. If you do get pinging with 8x octane just use 91, 92, 93 with the advanced timing and youll be fine with the 7 deg advance. Hook the timing light pickup to the #1 plug wire, jump the e1 and e01 diag ports, ground and power the timing light. Start up your car and let it idle to normal operating temp (probably around 700rpm for yours). Loosen the bolt holding the distributor tight (there may be a second bolt as well) and turn it towards the right to advance the timing. Youll hear the motor rev faster and slower by turning it to the left and right. Youll find the timing marks pointing to the acessory belts on the lower left side of the engine. They range from -5 to 15 usually. You would want yours to say 7. When you have the timing set properly, tighten the distributor bolt and un hook everything you had connected. If the MAF cog part seems difficult to you, do not touch it.
  3. This guy has done more performance R&D on the internals of a 3vz-fe than anyone i'vs ever seen. You guys should listen to his tech advice.
  4. Your egr shouldnt cause the car to stall like that. When it's off or leaking, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak but does cause the car to stall. Check the vacuum lines going to the egr for splits and cracks. If your egr system on the front of the intake manifold is messed up, i have a spare one from a 92 that works, so let me know if you need it.
  5. Yes, the motor could def be much "prettier." I still need to have those 2 pipes in front that have green spots on them ceramic coated with a nice chrome look. Next photo I post will look much different, as i need to heat wrap the majority of the electronics in the bay.
  6. Have not dyno'ed it yet. turbo is a borgwarner gm-8 found on 98 silverado turbodiesels
  7. 6psi, yes strut bar is going back on -- just wanted to take a quick pic after i had started it once. I'll have way more details and pictures when it's not 9 degrees out here!
  8. Yes ES manuals = 92,93 vcv10 3vzfe model years
  9. Its been about a month in the works. Transmission is stock for the time being.
  10. Down stream? The pipe going down is my down pipe. That turbo is plenty close to the exhaust outlets and yes it is real. Sorry, you havent messed with turbo cars much have you? Lag doesnt make you lose power, it will just delay it for a few rpms.
  11. Its not quite done yet. I still nee to install my FMU BPV and oil lines. I'm retarding the timing to -3 and using an s-afc with a wideband dyno to tune when it's finished.
