  1. The mold of aftermarket glass is never as good or even close to oem it always will have waves when veiwed from the side as well as being more likely to crack again over oem finish and quality issues the thin laminate between the 2 layes of glass can make a huge difference in durability beside i have never seen any after market glass look anywhere close to oem if you know what you are looking for
  2. I heard you guys got hit nicely when i heard Boston i immediatly thought about your ES............... Kidding, Here is my contribution of what my car intially looked like when i went to work yesterday. You have to remeber my car is raisedhigher than stock from adjustable suspension as this is my winter car. and this is a low spot i stopped in to get out of my car. it sure was fun yesterday So instead i drove around a G500 for the weekend looking for every big 5 foot snow drift to plow through, damn that thing is ugly but goes through stuff like a tractor. I guess that is why the G is the choice of european farmers everywhere. lmao
  3. just get regualr bolts who the hell steals oem factory wheels anymore unless they are a special edition besides if hey do go then insurance would buy you a new set which i am sure a store could make the exchange for something else you like instead. I know more people who get into problems with the lock buts breaking or lossing the key than anyone without them getting them stolen
  4. You need to figure otu which one has more games you like where you want to install it I have a PS2 under my drivers seat i love PS2 games which is why i got it. But an X-box can be fitted with a hard drive and have all the games you own preloaded right into the xbox so you never have to walk around with the disks in the car , then use it as a dvd player for movies liek mine does
  5. Well if it reads inaccuratly and you can prove it then you have grounds to say the meter was inacuratly calibrated and thus any reading from this device is null and void just liek a radar speeding ticket you have to uderstand the technology in question to fight it. I never heard of a meter to gauge tint but then again i have a $1200 meter to measure paint thickness on ferrous and non ferrous metals called an elcometer that most people have never heard of.
  6. well you only mentioned the rim width before but not that it was from a GS with a different offset the 16X7 is no porblem the offset is slightly diffferent so they will be higher and sit further in towards the shock it should be fine though only issues might be in the rear but usually only with 17 inch rims if needed just add a 5mm spacer and problem solved
  7. Insurance shoudl not be raised for a windsheild replacment or theft or fire atleast it isn;t here and many other places as well. I would get oem and make sure it is fitted with new oem trim as well not aftermarket rubber seals and guter channels
  8. sounds liek JPI is on the money with the valve body either being still clogged or a check ball /valve is reinstalled improperly basically the tranny is a big hyradlic pump it uses pressure from actuators and the engine to change gears depending on load from the driver and speed of the wheels and engine take it back
  9. cap and rotors shoud be chagned if they haven;t been done latley as good maintance then look for a rip in you intake pipe
  10. just rewire the antenna for a new deck i did and mine works fine the trigger for the antenna is frmo the amp under the pass seat i think
  11. yes they would fit fine with no changes needed you could go to a tire width of 225 and still be fine 16 X 7 would be fine also for the same tire
  12. Well if you changed the pump i woul look further up to the injectors the motorvac would be the best bet first
  13. 3 grand with the maintance already done is a good price if you like it just get a compression test ot make sure the heads and block are good
  14. who need the light once you read the manuakl you know if you have them on or not by turing the switch to top it off fog lights are useless i have never seen one that works great in real fog other than the 3rd rear taillight ones which really help you see the car with them infront of you
  15. You aern;t doing anything wrong btu their are guidelines in the policy to stop spam for our memebrs from peopel comign on the site trying to sell stuff and harass people. It takes 20 posts or being a gold member to be able to send PM's to members
  16. LOL it was -35 and i had to go to ST. Catherines to inspect an MB SL55 on the way i found out my driver nozzels where clogged. Wanna bet i started to think about this thread......... Lucky when i got home i took a small peic of telephone wire( i have lots from being in the telecom buisness) and slid it in and out and they all work perfect again. oh what hell it was
  17. a fuel perssure gauge is the only way to tell but you may have clogged an injector or 2 do you get any black smoke at start up?
  18. HID's are best to be powered on and off at full engine running voltage for longevity so just say no to the auto switch
  19. First take it back their should be no code if it wasn't their before take it for a free check at autozone or anotehr parts place it should also not be jerky ever especially if rebuilt. souinds like they didn't fix it properly
  20. Put it this way their is a 98 GS400 in spectra mica blue here in toronto it sold for 16 000 canadian with 123 000 km very nice car with awful repaint I guarntee you wouldn;t see it in a pic though it had some crazy bondo to me it is accident repaired but under the guidelines of the auction place it is not because the job was not done properly which entails repalcing the panels and not repairing them. Funny but that is probably why it went for only 16 000 it is cheaper than the one you are looking at and has less milage after the conversions. btw the price i mentioned is wholesale not retail ,so i am sure someone is going to get boned thinking the car is perfect because they don;t know any better
  21. Just wondering why you mentioned not getting a 98 steve? I agree t for a 4 door with a v8 their is nothgin better than the GS unless you spend crazy cash for an M5 of the same vintage or jsut keep your car as CD kind of mentioned and add some tein suspension rims and it will feel alot more sporty under normal driving but still be lexus smooth
