  1. I will second this issue. I found on this forum about how to replace the filter, but the acuator that screws on to the side of the glovebox to slow opening and closing fell out. Well I see where to put it, but what a bad design it is a plastic tip that is split in the middle and is suppose to hold in the back hole of the acuator. However it tends to bend forward and the split will not stay apart, thus the acuator just slides off the end. Any input or help! Thanks. Mike hello, I got the little shock thing or tension device back on. the two larger screws on the side of the glove box came out o.k.. back in o.k.. I put the acuator or tension device back on. the black screws on the side of the glove box just keep the glove box from falling foward. I don't like how the acuator or tension devise mounts on, seems like a clip should hold it on. I'll spend $20 or $25 for a filter and mess with this junk then spend $75 per hour at the Lexus dealer. Much better car then any of my GM cars. Very happy with my 04 es 330. tim
  2. hello, just wanted to check my cabin filter on my 04 es 330, did a google search found out how to get at it, pulled the glove box, blew it out with an air hose, had some leaves and junk in it, seemed dry, this wasn't that hard, but the little shock or what ever you want to call it, fell off. i can see where it goes, but can't get it on, not now, try later. glove box lines up o.k., just opens fast. i don't use it, only thing in there is the manual. how often should you change this filter? not going to the dealer for this, i just won't use the glove box. ran the air and heat, everything works fine. car has 61000 miles. runs and drives great. also, how cold temp. F. should the air be coming out of the vents on cold settings? thanks tim
  3. hello, i have 2004 es bought michelin exalto v rated stock size. very happy with this tire. 61000 miles on the car. tires good in snow, very good in rain and quite. got a good price on them from discount tire. tim
  4. It sounds bad if that is just for the flush. hello, i had trans flush, oil change, tire rotation for around $270, not from the dealer. 2004 es. they used a bg trans flush. car shifts a lot better and smoother. i know, a lot of people say don't flush, my car had 50000 when i had this done, now 60000 and no problems. i don't go to the dealer unless i have to. Tim
  5. hello, will stock aluminum camery rims fit my 04 es 330? tim
  6. hello, glad I could help. Some people don't like them, working out good for so far. had it for about two years. take care and enjoy your car. Tim
  7. hello, i got a bra for my 04 es, bought it hat the lexus dealer, about 180.00. car is dark blue with a lot of chips and a dent on the hood. 90% of everything bad is covered up. i take it off a few times to a year wash and wax and don't have any problems. I'm happy with it, had car over 100 m.p.h. with no problems. tim
  8. hello, I have a 04 es 57000 miles original battery and no problems. been a great car. dealer should take care of you. hope everything works out o.k. take care. tim
  9. hello, i have a 04 es with 57000 miles and have Michilen pilot exalto v rated stock size and car is very quiet. i believe the car is made for v rated tires, some people say h rated is ok. matched tires make the difference. i had toyo, and dunlop. both ok till about 20000 or less miles and they got noisy and rough. tire is a good source. have fun! tim
  10. hello, good deal, car just broke in. i have a 2004 es with 57000 miles and love it. take care of it and will last a long time. tim
  11. hello, had my first trans fluid change and flushed, 04 es, 52000 miles, found a local shop that works on toyota, lexus. worked on my gm cars and trucks for over 10 years, great service. car seems to shift better, smoother. seem normal? i'm happy. saved a ton of money over the dealer. the tech took me back in the shop and showed me how they did the flush and fluid change. thanks tim
  12. hello, i will look around to see if i have my 04 brochure around, in my pile somewhere. i keep all that stuff. i have a 1969 camero brochure in same pile, i hope. my 04 is a great car. tim
  13. hello, I would go with the es, I was a gm fan for years, I have a 04 es 330, 53000 miles and no problems, best car I ever had. I feel the es will last longer, if you take care of it. Check the car out real good before you buy. Have fun, take care. Tim
  14. hello, for the first time had my oil changed by someone else then the dealer. they worked on my gm cars for the last ten years never a problem, never asked if they worked on toyota or lexus. saved lots of money. got four oil changes, four tire rotations, four saftey inspection, $80. went in the shop twice to watch them work on my car. also had the trans flushed and fluid changed. (04 es330, 52000 miles). watched them do that too. clean work, good people. small chain about 6 or 7 stores. how about power steering fluid, can i change that myself? worked on a lot of gm cars, never worked on my lexus. any help would be great. thanks, tim
  15. hello about the bra or mask, i have one on my 04 dark blue. i think it looks good, i take it off 2 or 3 times a year to check the paint, everthing looks good. water seems to drain good, had car up to 100-110 m.p.h. no problem. hides alot of the chips and hood dent. no rust on the hood dent or chips. i touch up the best i can. if it gets bad i'll have it repainted. $180 for a mask is cheaper then $1100 for a small dent and repaint on the hood and a dent on the fender. if i do get it fixed, i'll look into the clear mask. got mine at the lexus dealer. black mask on a silver might not look too good. just my opinon. have a good save weekend! tim
