what kind of grease do you use? i changed pads 2 times, first time original dealer and then ceramic pads and the squeaakin is still there! i'm lost and *BLEEP*ed! its pretty embarrasing to drive around in LS that squeaks like a pig!!! you can hear it at any speed when i press the brake, i have to press brakes really hard to stop the squeaking which is not very pleasant for the passengers and the car. any ideas guys?

same was in my case, but i got scared that it might leak one day so i switched. just a precautionary move but i feel safer now:)

if alternator would not work you will have the battery light on. its just a dead battery. if there was no joise to move the steering column and no lights were left overnight then its def battery. you better chaNGE IT ASAP since you will have to jump start the car almost every time:)

hey Blake, i would not recommend using 5w oil in ur engine since it has a lot of miles. i recently switched from m1 5w to 10w since it has more viscosity thus making a chanse of the leak smaller. 5w is good for engines with less then 100k after this 10w is recommended. i also noticed that u use green coolant, i would recommend flushing it and refilling with toyota recommended red coolant. thats what service manual said. just my 5c:)

yeah this is a radar detector, the front sensor is in one of ur headlights and another one is either is in the taillight or in the bumper. i forgot the brand but i will ask my friend since he has it installed

yeah, def the wiring problem in the trunk, search the forum for this issue, there have been couple of threads related to this problem.

might be just the hot air from the fan? i have hot air there as well. if you would have a hole in the exaust system you would def hear it.:)

my suspension is till intact, PS pump is also doing well so far, LCDs are just fine as well, no radio problems or any electrical problems. antenna works flawlessy as well. its either coz i'm lucky or due to the good maintanence. i dont know but i'm surpised mself that with 135k i dont have any probs at all. (except a burned bulb in the scan/pscan button on the radio)

the key itself is cheap, programming it is what costs money and only dealer can do that since they have to check the your specific code in the database. you give them vin number and they will program your keys. you also have to show the ID and registration or title with your name on it.

enjoy the LS, 96 is a great year and they dont seem to have problems. i didnt change anything and i have 135k miles on it already. the only thing you need to do is to check if the timing belt/tune up service was perfomed. also i would recommend to do a steering flush, rear differential flush and a tranny flush, but first check the dealer for the records of service since the car was serviced there. this will tell you what you need to do and what has been done. feel free to ask me any questions since i got a lot of experience with 96 model year:)

hey, in my case i just have couple of them not workin buttons 7-8 dont work, trac button light is not working as well as another one (forgot which one). what do you think it is in my case? i didnt investigate this problem myself since it doesnt really bother me that much but since you are at it i would like to hear your opinion.

oh one of those, i drove E55 AMG, now thats a fast and nice car.ive heard that this is the fastest mb. sl500 is not worth the money, for the proce range around 120k fully loaded i would rather get myself 2 lexus cars.:)

infinity qx56 is the !!!!!!!!!!! i rode this car and its awesome! and looks awesome!!!! they did a good job!!!!! i love lexus but knowing bout the tranny problems etc qx56 is superior and i love the look of it.

whats an sl500?

i love my HIDs! given the fact that they are aftermarket they match perfectly with the lens and they dont shine into the eyes but illuminate the road in front of me perfectly, i had bunch of different bulbs b4 and none of them can match HIDs in any way! I LOVE MY HIDs and i would recommend them to every1!

i had this prob too. try to leave the resrvoir open overnight see if thats gonna help. you might still have air in the system and that will def take all the air out
