  1. i dont understand how can one part with lexus to drive a malibu, once u driven a lex, especially the LS you cannot drive anything american, even with the same class. i'm gettin a 2005 mustang gt but i will still keep the lex, its gonna sit in the garage and i will drive it once in a while. i'm having a hard time lettin the legend go :( if i had space i would keep it as well but lex is here to stay, no questions asked.
  2. yeah, true that, you should also get one with a big radius, i have a 1.5 mile radius it also makes u sleep better at nite:) i mean in my case i have a 2way alarm, it communicates with the remote and shows the status of the car on the screen
  3. this knocking is prolly valves, its ok to have it like this, but if you really want to fix it, valve alignment job will cost you around 400$
  4. Hey, welcome to the club, LS cars cost the fortune outside the US for some reason:) Transmission problems are not common for LS, they were built to last forever. howewer, leaking power steerting system is really common and not fixing it will lead to the dead alternator so this is a good thing that you fixed it. suspension is also pretty durable except the bushings which might require change at the age of your car. You are right about the radio, you cannot use the amp if you change the headunit, you will not be able to use CD changer as well so you will have to change evertyhing, you might keep the speakers but considering their age if you will change whole system you better change them as well. I really dont know about the trunk safety feature, i can open mine even when i'm driving:) Good luck and let us know if you have more questions.
  5. ripoff, dont beleive them when they say some cool computer gear to do the alignment, it is still been done with hammer:) not more then 60$ for all wheels
  6. i have clear corners, check my car inthe garage :) i have clear tail lights as well click here to check it
  7. plenty of those here in NYC area as well, ppl just drive to the ground, my friend works at the dodge dealer and he got one as a trade in for 300$ dead tranny, ruined interior etc.... it was a pityful view......
  8. did they remove your door panels for tinting? if yes they might have shorten smth, you should check all the fuses and all the wiring that was in touch with the tinting ppl.
  9. reliability wise, you cant compare lex to any other brand, it is simply outstanding plus the ride comfort is also much better especially in 2005 LS.
  10. nothing special about the exrerior IMHO, looks a lot like new maxima
  11. what kind of warning light? is it in the shape of the engine or is it like a circle with lil things on the sides?
  12. sounds good to me, i'm sellin mine with 135k miles for 10k so 11k seems normal price for the 97k
  13. i tried all kinds of shims and all kinds and types of brake pads and all kinds of disk quiet products, nothing helps, i dont want to change the rotors but i will have to....
  14. rotors my friend, i got the same problem with the same year car, OEM shims and pads didnt help, so i think the problem is in rotors, i'm going to change them soon
  15. i have it on my 96 ls its not dyi, 4 guys installed it in 4 hours.
  16. thanx, checked it out already, no no leaks, plus i cant really hear the noise on idle, it can beheard only during first minute or 2 when i start driving in the cold morning.
  17. nah i dont think this is valve tickin, if it would be a leak then how come it goes away after a while?
  18. did some more testing, its like a ticking noise which can be heard only during firrst 1-2 mins of driving under moderate acceleration. it is dependent on the rpms. weird....
  19. i was thinking, if its a hole then noise should always be there, while when i drive the car for couple of mins and it heats up completely the noise is gone. might be the heatshild i will check it when i will get a chanse to lift the car

    2005 Mustang

i was thinking about camaro as well and my friend even had one and it he crashed and burned it. it was x8 or smth, and i have to tell u that yes, camaro is faster car but mustang beats camaro in maneurability and handling and i'm getting the stang for the casual driving, no racing so those things are more important to me and that made up my decision. as to the interior i might rennovate it a bit, ricaro seats, DVD/ navigation, etc...
  21. hey guys, when i was driving to work today i notice a weird noise when i was pushing the gas pedal, sounds like.. i dont even know how to ddescribe it, like a hole in the exaust or smth, it dissapeared in couple of mins and i would check it again on the way back home butwhat that might be? any1 had this? is this a exaust leak somewhere? bad seal? cant reproduce the noise on idle.

  23. avtually 6l MB engine is single turbo 5.5L engine is twin turbo. my distant relative works on the MB plant in germany where they make rear differentials and engines and he showed and explained all MB engines to me when i was visiting last jan.
  24. DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT follow that advice and disconnect the battery while your engine is running!!!! you are risking of frying your ECU and bunch of ECMs!!!! NEVER EVER do this!!! there is a special tool to check your alternator, just go to the shop and ask them to check it for you!
