I have been toying with the idea of selling my SC300 and getting a muscle or classic car that will hold or appreciate in value. Was told they would give me $7,000. YIKES. I'd take $9,500. Guess I'll rethink this.
You could try sealing it from the inside. Take off the trim and get some silicone sealant and caulk around the back of the window. Or ask Lexus to get a new window seal and install it for you. I bet that wouldn't be cheap.
Same thing happened to my passenger side. I can't find a clip but I've heard that an electical twist connector will work if you can find the right size. I'm going to be doing the passenger door one of these weekends.
It's personal preference. I used to use Mobil 1. I would change the filter every 5,000 miles and add a quart. Now I use Amsoil and an Amsoil filter and change the filter every 25,000 miles with a complete oil chage every 50,000. It's up to you. I've got 5 vehicles and the oil changing was getting old.
What is your mileage? You may need to clean your throttle body. Change your fuel filter. How's the air cleaner look? For $350.00 you should be getting new plugs, cap, rotor, spark plug cables, filters and a kiss!
Cars trade hands through auctions all the time. Carfax should show this if the title was transferred. If you're worried you could get an extended warranty although that's a crap shoot. Sounds like a good deal though.
You are going to have to pull the door panels and watch the mechanisms while using the key. Hopefully it's adjustable. Have you tried spraying WD40 in the keyhole? On the latching mechanisms?
I have a rebuilt, unused one in my garage. I paid $750.00 including shipping. Turns out my problem was a TV cable. Let me know if you're interested in buying it.
