  1. I have been toying with the idea of selling my SC300 and getting a muscle or classic car that will hold or appreciate in value. Was told they would give me $7,000. YIKES. I'd take $9,500. Guess I'll rethink this.
  2. You need service manuals or a CD.
  3. I would suggest that you clean the top end with throttle body cleaner, change plugs, cap, rotor, and plug wires.
  4. Check and make sure your power steering pump isn't leaking onto the alternator.
  5. You could try sealing it from the inside. Take off the trim and get some silicone sealant and caulk around the back of the window. Or ask Lexus to get a new window seal and install it for you. I bet that wouldn't be cheap.
  6. Same thing happened to my passenger side. I can't find a clip but I've heard that an electical twist connector will work if you can find the right size. I'm going to be doing the passenger door one of these weekends.
  7. A common problem are the battery cable ends. Make sure they are clean and tight. You can buy replacement ends from Lexus.
  8. $14,000 was at the bottom because they still wanted to clear $3,000. Let it sit there for awhile and then offer $11,000
  9. You can get away with loosening the inner fender panels at the front and pull them back to gain access to the fog lights.
  10. It's personal preference. I used to use Mobil 1. I would change the filter every 5,000 miles and add a quart. Now I use Amsoil and an Amsoil filter and change the filter every 25,000 miles with a complete oil chage every 50,000. It's up to you. I've got 5 vehicles and the oil changing was getting old.
  11. What is your mileage? You may need to clean your throttle body. Change your fuel filter. How's the air cleaner look? For $350.00 you should be getting new plugs, cap, rotor, spark plug cables, filters and a kiss!
  12. 22's? What's the point? You going for that buckboard look?
  13. Cars trade hands through auctions all the time. Carfax should show this if the title was transferred. If you're worried you could get an extended warranty although that's a crap shoot. Sounds like a good deal though.
  14. Leave the car stock, buy some oil stock and hold it for a while, then buy a new car.
  15. Simichrome paste and plenty of elbow grease. Coat of Zaino.
  16. You need to remove the plastic inner fender liner to gain access to the back of the fog lights.
  17. Saw one for sale in today's Arizona Republic! $46,000. w/30k
  18. You could pop the distributor cap and check for moisture.
  19. You are going to have to pull the door panels and watch the mechanisms while using the key. Hopefully it's adjustable. Have you tried spraying WD40 in the keyhole? On the latching mechanisms?
  20. The cheapest and also the best is the BFI. BFI
  21. The alternator is probably on the way out. Is you P/S pump leaking onto the alt?
  22. I have a rebuilt, unused one in my garage. I paid $750.00 including shipping. Turns out my problem was a TV cable. Let me know if you're interested in buying it.
