I bought a new 1999 RX300 from a dealership in northern N.J. Don't remember the name but they were the only Lexus dealer that wasn't asking sticker price. They were about a mile outside of N.Y. Maybe Prestige Lexus was their name.

My nephew had the front half of a 240SX shipped over. He pulled out the engine, trans, turbo, etc. and dropped it into his. You might want to consider that route if getting it certified is too rough.

Anyone have their automatic transmission rebuilt? I'm curious as to what it would cost for my 95 SC300. It feels like it has a shift kit in it. Also leaps into gear after I back out of the driveway and shift into drive.

I've heard bad things about extended life coolant. Go to corvetteforum and do a search on coolant. I'd stick with the green.

What offset wheels are you guys using? Could I use the 17 inchers from an IS300? Or 18 inchers off SC430? Also, who has a decent price on waterpump and timing belt? Thanks

What is the verdict on these tires? From what I have read they have really thick side walls to enable you to "run flat". Is that bad? What is the ride quality?

Anyone else using this oil filter: www.trasko-usa.com. I got one a few years ago when I had a RX300. I took it off after the vehicle was t-boned and just put it on my SC300.

I can't remove the cartridge from the cd changer. Is a crowbar in order or is there a secret?

Never heard of rebuilding a starter solenoid. I took one apart on a 240Z years ago, cleaned it and put it back together and it worked. Probably need a new one.

Is the battery new? If so, the problem could be the starter solenoid. Have the battery tested under load to eliminate the battery. If the battery is indeed good then it could be the ignition switch or the starter solenoid. Also check the connections on the starter.

Anyone know if the rear brake calipers from a 95 Supra TT will work on a 95 SC300? I found a wrecked 95 TT and have first crack at the brakes.

Just picked up Pearlescent White SC300. Wow, what more can I say other than "HOT DAMN". Windshield has a star burst on driver's side and one stone chip (about 3/8" in diameter) :( on the hood. Anyone here use that windshield repair kit that injects a hardening liquid into damaged area? Recommendations? How about that king sized stone chip? Will touch up paint do the job? Also only got one key, where can I get spares other than the overpriced dealer ones? Thanks Jeff

I am getting a 93 SC300 with 90k miles and one of the first things I would like to do is change the timing belt. Anyone here done that? I changed one on a Honda Accord a few months ago and got to be quite intimate with that engine. Not a lot of room to work on it with the engine being sideways. Also, any ideas on getting parts? I usually find it better to use factory parts under the hood.
