  1. It depends on the format you have burnt on and whether that would be acceptable in the GX. Very early on I use to have as I used a Dual layer format to burn Cartoons for my kids on long drive. And I used to get these error messages, And I was told by Sewell to use DVD -R and not RW versions, And after that I never get as I started to use Sony DVD-R and format was using Nero Burn. As sometime Software compatibilty could have problems not allowing the DVD to play and then you hhave the dreaded message "DISC ERROR". Especially when you want them to play. So try out this as one option.
  2. Yes ! There is a fuse, it is situated in the Engine Bay compartment. The fuse is ear marked as ECU-B Fuse 10A. This fuse controls Anti Theft, Headlights,Interior Lights,Power Windows,Mirrors, ( Both Driver / Passenger) Navigation,Electronic Power Steering,Power Seats, Instrument Cluster, Electronic Suspension, Wiper Washer, Antilock Brakes Systems. Now my question to you how did you derive that this fuse in other words is what has effected your mirror. Because the above related functions would also have cascading effect too. Do a test to the wire of this fuse box, they are color coded White / Red, Check out if there is any continuity with a voltmeter. I repeat do not touch the Driver Side fuse which is marked as IG1 2 Fuse 10 A. The wire is color coded Grey / Blue. cheers
  3. The knock is due to the Knock Sensor. There are 2 Sensors which needs to be replaced and also the Exhaust Valve Clearance ( Cold Shims. The Engine is perfect. The sensors needs to be replaced and cannot be adjusted as the readings stored on the ECM has different values. Now coming to the Exhaust Valve the clearance on the shims that has been installed ask the dealer what exactly are the readings. There is a chart reference which the dealers have. I believe there was Bulletin issued for replacement on your model with a higher value mm shim. I exactly do not know the values .
  4. Could I know what prompted you to change the sensors, Before you change the sensors , Could you look at the EXhaust HEight Control Solenoid VAlve, Sometimes due to moisture intrusion, these sensor go bad, effecting the height Control Sensors. All you need to replaced the solenoid valve. These were a problematic ones on the 2003/2004 model GX. It is also called as Compressor Height Control Assy and the Part # 48910-60020. This once replaced will only be reset thru a Diagnostic Kit which is available at the dealer. As lot of interface is done to the ECM to understand the part number installed and clear the previous codes installed. I am bit surprised if the dealer say he does not know, try to change you dealer from your area to another one. Only one important thing the dealer should remember that there is Code DTC C1735 is not removed and it should be retained in the Suspension Control ECU.
  5. I wonder what happens to the engine is such depth of slush!!!
  6. nopes.... there has been no revised TSB so far. Will keep on look out... But this is concern you can raise to the dealer and tell them they are beginning to fail periodically, maybe he would do something about it.
  7. Guys you will surprised the mirror is a problematic area, and lexus knew this problem wayback in 2003 and then went on to issue a TSB on this reverse tilting problems faced on the GX. So here is the TSB for it it. get going to the dealer and have it replaced if need be. So Long !! Mirror_Memory_Reverse_Tilt.pdf
  8. Welcome to the GX forum... and congrats on buying a GX. If it is dealer maintained check out the service history and check if the famous clunk issue was there, if it is have they done a replacement of it , you would see it in the service history with the TSB number mentioned. Have a visual inspection of the below chassis and check steering linkage ball joints and dust covers, drive shaft boots, chassis bolts, check all if they are good condition, check the time belt for any warps. Check on fluid inspections. Check out the last service when it was done. so long !!!
  9. check out the engine mounts and the suspension mounts
  10. Kid Here is the seal replacement method for the actuator leak. Also there is a TSB issued. cheers TRANSFER_CASE_O_RING_SEAL_LEAK.pdf INSPECTION.pdf CENTER_DIFF__LOCK_SYSTEM.pdf
  11. To make the long story short there is TSB issued for GX on the Dreaded Drone...have a look. With regards the actuator it is a very simple job. Replace the O Ring which I did, all was solved. Steering_Drive_Line_Vibration_issue_Feb_2008.pdf

  13. This TSB was issued when the ATF WS was introduced for lexus vehicles, make sure you read the said note para. cheers ATF_WS_Introduction1.pdf
  14. I do not know what model is your GX but the dealer looks at the following criteria way to change the Shocks. Read this TSB it will improve your knowledge. Shock_Absorber_Replacement.pdf
  15. The ATF ie the WS fluid as per Lexus, does not require change as far as the life of the vehicle, only requires topping up at once in 10,000 mile if ever required. This was the information given by Sewell to me. I do not have the manual, but if somebody has can let you know. But to experience, The WS ATF is one of the best ATF ever technology given by lexus for its vehicles.
  16. The ECU requires change, This is done free by the dealer himself. There is Vendor exchange program for replacement of ECU . Check out with the dealer and Order the Lexus link ECU thru the exchange program via the vendor exchange program application at the dealer. I do not know if the offer still exist with which dealer across US. If I am not wrong there was a TSB issued for the exchange program of analog model, maybe if somebody has the copy they can publish on this forum.
  17. First check out whether it really requires replacement. There are criteria involved as to how much leak is involved. Check out this document as how the dealer does if it really required a replacement. This was the TSB issued by LEXUS for Shock Replacement Criteria. Shock_Absorber_Replacement.pdf
  18. There was a TSB issued for most of the models, check it out. TSB_for_LS400_on_Engine_Bank1_and_Bank_2_AF_and_O2_modification.pdf
  19. Goto this link, and you will have all the information for rebuild of PS pump. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/steering/pspumprebuild.html
  20. check out the water channels on the body frame, a complete inspection would reveal the water flow leakage, because if the storage is happening into the Spare Tire compartment, these are definetely channeled from the water drain out points on the body frame. Just check out the hood seals by removing them, and have it resealed using a good silicone sealant .
  21. There was TSB which was issued..have a look may help you. Ball_joint_TSB.pdf
