  1. My GX on the recent service with Greenville and managed to look at the service, I was amazed to see that they were using WYNN'S Service Kit. Why would they use it? Any ideas ? Why would a Lexus dealer use a non OEM brand product on the Lexus vehicles, Are we saying Toyota do not have such kit or products. Here I am not against Wynn's product, they are good, but what does it mean, dealer is saving costs to get vehicle serviced at lower cost products available in the market than using toyota product.
  2. There is no way I would let them to take door apart after seeing the previous job they did. The so called actuator is placed within mirror housing, and there is no need to rip the door apart. If the dealer has said that the door needs to be ripped apart, believe me, he is taking you for a ride explaining that the job is a long one. The job to replace the actuators ( both) takes max 30 minutes. If you have the parts you can even do it at home. All you need some scotch tape and (-) screw driver. Thats about it. I have the TSB if need be I can have posted on the forum.
  3. The OEM pads are conventional pad, but not good enough when u compare them with Ceramics one, You get the best braking performance on the Ceramic pads when you compare with the toyota OEM. I feel the OEM ones have high quantity of graphite and Asbestos. I have used both, And i rate the ceramic ones better. The really last longer than the conventional pads any day. I have presently installed Rear Pads with Akebono Pro Act, and the front one OEM, Waiting for the front to wear out and will have that too replaced with ceramic.
  4. In order to have the oil wrench rotate easily once you you get hold of the filter, and in order to that you should have the Front Engine under cover and the Engine Main under cover removed. This would make things easier.
  5. Sorry mate to hear about that, the mirror is slowing dying, ie the actuator assy needs to get replaced if it is not important, you can run the show, continue till they die, otherwise have it replaced, The part number are as follows - RH side 87908-60841 & LH side - 87909-60731. The cost is 154.24/-$ per actuator. I had the same problem few months back. I had the CPO to cover it, lucky me !! The Service manager was kind enough to give me a piece of advise..Whenever you have a high pressure wash of the car, avoid a direct hit to the face of the mirror, the actuator is quite flimsy meaning the motor. The tend to break away that is they have some kind of clock gear, which just slips over a period and then fail once and for all.
  6. You voltage inverter relay is fried, nothing else is wrong, tell the dealer or any auto electrician to replace this stuff, and you are good to go.
  7. This maybe dumb answer... but could check the battery by using a 9v Torch lamp bulb, if not you need to replace from a watch repair shop. The battery is Panasonic CR .$$$$ :( something,, just can remember on top of my head... :o jeez getting old!!! :chairshot:
  8. There is a TSB issued for oil leak from the cam shaft, I do not know if this is of any help, And i unable to post this TSB as it is huge file of 3MB. I can post it to the admistrators who inturn can post it for the RX330/ 350 members
  9. Ok guys Lexus issued a TSB for all models in relation to Audio issues, here is the copy, what it seems is these repairs are not covered under warranty. Anyway you can do your own troubleshooting. Cheers RX330_Audio_Issues.pdf
  10. check the fuel cap if it bit loose, it generates a VSC light, Diagnostic Code P0455, P0456. Evaporative Leak. Check the gasket under the lid, sometime this wears out, you may have to buy a new cap, otherwise just rotate it hard. IF the warning still there, then try getting under the vehicle and check the hose clamps between the Fuel tank and the Charcoal cannister, this sometimes becomes loose. Give it a shot !!
  11. This is cut paste from one the members earlier one on the similar issue had. This is how the Lexus rain sensing wiper works: The auto wiper system operates when the wiper switch is in the AUTO position. The rain sensor is connected to each ECU through the multiplex communication line. When the rain sensor detects raindrops in the detection area of the windshield glass, the sensor sends a wiper control signal according to the amount of raindrops to the windshield wiper relay assembly. When the rain sensor malfunctions, DTC of multiplex communication systems can be seen at the same time. The cause can be a blown fuse, loose harness/connector at the overhead junction block , a broken rain sensor circuit or rain sensor itself. Now coming to you since you have replaced the windscreen, I suggest put the Rain wiper s/w to Auto mode and goto a service station and have the wash done. Sometime there is a thin film which is inserted onto the glass as a protector to the sensor by the Manufacturer, you need to look at it really close.
  12. Absolutely, this is to ensure that there are no air bubbles or any vacuum in the SS lines.
  13. No probs, you are welcome. :D :D
  14. There is a TSB to replace the actuator ( motor ) if you are covered under CPO.
  15. You have done a good job, but you have forgotten to check the fluid pressure of the master brake master cylinder As sometimes there is lot of air build up on the brake SS lines. For this you need to depress the brake pedal around 25-30 times till the reaction force becomes light and stroke becomes longer, this will allow to bleed air out, this engages the booster while you depress the pedal. All this should be done while the ignition is off. Now switch the ignition to "ON" and wait till the pump motor has stopped. You will hear a whirring noise for a few seconds > Just depress the brake pedal once, you will see the pressure build up and the master cyclinder is perfect for the run....
  16. Replacing Tail light bulb is quite easy. Once you open the rear door. You need to remove the 2 bolts and then the release the claw. This claw is located on the outer sides of the car body. Take a (-) screwdriver, tape the edge of the screw driver, and insert into the gap and have someone pull it out. Dont twist and turn the assy, just pull the lamp assy towards yourself, the claws will release the lamp assy. Now disconnect the connector and now twist the bulb holders and replace the bulbs and insert the assy the reverse of what you have done. Now the most difficult part will be to remove the Lamp assy of the RH side as the cargo door has got a bit of obstruction, you need to keep the door open is an angle to do this job. Cheers
  17. Ok Agro... after a lot of research.. finally I have located the relay.. the relay is in the engine Compartment bay Fuse box. Now this Relay is located exactly behind the CDS Fan Fuse(10A) & Towing Fuse (40A) . The relay is third relay if you looking towards the Engine Fuse box from the Right to left. Another identification to this relay it is exactly right in front of the Heater Relay ( bigger boxy looking "plus shape"). Let us know, after you finish the job :D
  18. Nopes, there has been no TSB issued in repect to the wheel Rust. There could be minor issues, I suppose the dealer would solved thru their smart option kept under the sleeves. Where you do not have choice left!
  19. I may sound stupid, but just check out your Service records initially whether the mirror defect which had occured in the earlier models, they had TSB issued for a replacement of a part, check it out has it been done. Here is the TSB for it then which was issued. Hope it helps LX470_REAR_VIEW_MIRROR_TSB.pdf
  20. This is the wiring diagram... check it out . Before you goto the relay do a wire test leading to the fuse. They are color coded. The wiring diagram shows the colors. cheers Power_Distribution1.pdf Power_Distribution2.pdf
  21. wow ! could someone tell me what is the retail price. I would prefer this over Diehard if they last so long.
  22. I suppose for the headphones... you need to purchase new headsets, as I have never come across someone selling those ear foam pads seperately, maybe somebody reading this could give you leads. The seconds stuff is quite easily available at Sewell. Email them and they give you the quote and part number.
  23. Check out the actuator behind the mirror and check the pins by a volt meter. Normally the actuator goes bad fast...
  24. I guess not, battery are not covered under warranty. You could try your luck with the dealer
  25. If its the Front wheel, then it should be the Wheel Dirt Guard Plate which are behind the rotors, It is round shape, IF you have done your break job recently, sometimes the plate gets altered, just realign it, it should do it.
