  1. wow! jpi did you or your people make that headder?...nice ;) i eventually want do do that. where do you get flanges?
  2. wow the guy just drove off? well you got screwed if you dont have a police report or his info. spot repair isnt that expensive, as for your rim well what can you do...
  3. do you think the oil is causing the problems? there is a crank angle sensor at the bottom of the crank case right under the main pully. and if your main seal is leaking oil on it then it could be reading wrong.
  4. hmm... my bad
  5. you wont find a non vvt-i obd 2 motor it started in 98. and you can only get a 98 supra motor if you want vvt-i or aristo motors from japan.
  6. i think 98 started the toyota vvt-i thing maybe 99. the gte came with the turbo supras they are twin tubo and have 320hp with power potential to the quad digits.
  7. no lsd makes it scary. but i did start to drift on a wet day going 70 on the freeway too. but most other times on this car the diff gave way to either side swinging the car but these were more powering out kind of deals not really drifting.
  8. you can pay me to think some bellof HIDs would be top notch. go for HI and LOW
  9. 5 speed from92-97. 6 speed needs a lengthened drive shaft (different lengths depending on the rear end stock or supra) any year is good but i hear earlier ones are lighter. and turbo kits for this car come with thicker head gaskets to lower comp.
  10. oh yea i for got which side rear bearing it was but one of them go out under stress and time. i read this about the supra and i am assuming that its the same with the sc. and its worse if you wear S tires
  11. 6 speed, LSD?
  12. well at least you know your components belt is good
  13. unfortunately turbo cars ar much quieter than those that are NA
  14. definitely both. in the tutorial section i did a replacement and i showed a picture of what the old bushing looks like maybe you should take a look for more convincing its in the important topics at the top and the pics are on the second page.
  15. hehe you really havnt had an auto well thats cool. when you change rims (my choice would be volk GT-C's or GT-7's) your tire becomes a lower profile so the actual circumfrence of the tire doesnt change by that much. maybe like 5% or something minimal depending on the tire. as for your cute questions about 2nd and L :P you can just keep your foot on the brake at the light. L and 2nd are mostly for going down hill for long periods of time. or just having fun blasting around in 2nd :D but i found before shifting in to second if you push the overdrive off button first its a smoother shift because it goes in to third before second and not directly to second so you get less of a jerk. oh and congrats on the buy! i am the opposite i am looking for a 5 speed project car but i am still a bit short on cash.
  16. go with some nice bridgestones or michelins. i like the SO-3's with bridge but they might not make in the LS size maybe... or you can get mvx-4 energy from mich. i use the mvx's for my LS but they are 15s <_< wish i had the 94, 16s but well what can i do
  17. yup a couple of people here have done it
  18. after 10 years rubber parts begin to deteriorate so try lookig at your arm bushings
  19. for one you can try to determine what is wrong by looking at it and seeing what is worn and replace it. my guess is that the sway bar mount/bushings arent holding the sway in place anymore. you can also try to change the links to the arms.
  20. you would think by this day and age the size of your engine could be written down in liters <_<
  21. this is my first 4th il like 15 years. because most of the time i am in japan during the summer ;)
  22. well if you compare under the hood with a car that doesnt have the cover and one that has had it its whole life you can definitely tell because everything inside stays so much cleaner
  23. the sc430 must have big brakes too like the LS so it has a good chance of clearing. well like the man said try it or ask someone that has.
  24. yea the car is a joy to drive again. and today i started to change the motor mounts and front shocks. when i changed the shocks one side bled oil when i put it on its side :o
  25. once on my previa van the starter stayed engagedeven when i pulled the key out and the only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. upon inspection of the starter the plunger was heavily pitted which are signs of resistance and it seems that the plunger fused it self together and the return spring was'nt able to disengage the plunger. a little turning on my lathe, cleaning the contacts on the plunger and replacing the other side solved the problem.
