  1. i made it on my lathe. it was quite simple actually.
  2. oh i forgot to mention that there are two of these bushings on top and in front.
  3. ok recently my steering was really bad. when the brake was applied and the road would dip the car would pull to one side and when turning the car would straighten out and i would have to turn even more meaning that there would be delayed steering turning from left to right. so today while changing my oils i took a look and the rack mount and on the driver's side the bushing, or what seems to be left of it looked like this: and well it was too late to drive down to the dealer so well i just made the bushings myself. i figured that nylon will hold up to the task so this is what it looks like: well the end product looked a tad different because it needed minor adjusting. and after the install the steering was as responsive as new! and my sports coupe was a sports car again :D
  4. on an IS its probably the second one down the exhaust.
  5. it is normal for an engine to burn oil while running thats why you should check your oil level from time to time. and if it bothers you and you find that with synthetic there is little oil consumption then you should use synthetic.
  6. isnt that one line great where it says "though the japanese dominate" :P hehe
  7. hope these help.
  8. yea i know you just lengthen the tie rod and it will slam :D but well thats a semi permanent thing
  9. well if my motor plans dont work out then i just might have to.
  10. well then just change it every 80-100k miles or so
  11. hehe i said the exact same thing well i like turbo more too but well if speed is a must then an already made way of force induction is the way. oh and i have a pic of the twin turbo 430. let me post it in a bit.
  12. yyeeeaaa race gas all the way baby!
  13. you cant buy R-12 unless you have a licence. you can charge it your self if you know what your doing. and a 30lb can goes for about 800 bucks...i have one! :P
  14. hmmm how about you send me a motor then... :P
  15. not sure how long they last or at what interval they are recommended to be change at but eventually your car will flash a check engine and if you pull the code your car will tell you when she wants an new one
  16. a tad under 9000 shells
  17. man your car doesnt have air sus? too bad because they sell ride hight controllers but in japan. and i recently found a LOW mode on my LS. it clicks in at around 90 and cornering the freeway seems to be much better and responsive(but an artificial responsive) than my SC but then again i badly need to change the shocks on my SC but have been procrastinating maybe you can find all of the air sus stuff from a junk yard and put it in. i hear you can hit the ground with the chassis B)
  18. well i didnt have mine new either we bought our 90 in 94 but the exhaust was still polished shiny( it was really low miles) and in the advertisement of the car they showed the underside of the car and there was the blang blang polished exhaust. :D and yes from toyota the mufflers and stuff will cost as much as or more than ones from greddy or hks. because they are made out of the same stuff.
  19. cool! but 12000 canadian doesnt sound good even if its canadian ;) out in the islands we pay in clams and shells but it sounds like you had the whole car body worked and painted so the price seems right. but that drive shaft angle thing makes me want to do it too. i looked at that on the manual but didnt think it would make that big a difference. so maybe the next time my cars at the dealer(which i will try to avoid ) i will do it. great news and enjoy the ride!
  20. i havent ever had a problem either but its just added assurance for an extra dollar.
  21. hey bean didnt you say that the wiring for the 2j and the 1j are the same? so you could use the 2j computer on a 1j right? so all Jc has to do is get the ecu and wiring done for a 2jzgte and connect it all up to the 1j....or am i wrong?
  22. the higher octane is for added insurance from knock and ping as well as performance and as SK says for better milage.
  23. TOM's and Blitz in japan offer blower kits. or does your costomer specificaly want a turbo....
  24. yea i know but sometimes the dealer doesnt have the gasket so you have to do that.
  25. i found soaking grease with simple green then just brushing off while rinsing works wonders. as for the exhaust all (newer) toyotas use stainless steel in the exhaust components. if you bought the car brand new you would have seen that it was polished like those high performance exhausts and thats part of the reason that these exhausts last a life time. you could go ahead and sand off the rust and it will last another life time.
