  1. i was born the same year of my member number. isnt that kind of cool?
  2. you know the funny thing with me is i live in hawaii but i only go to the beach like 1 or 2 times a year. alot of people in japan dont believe i live in hawaii because i am so fair. anyway as far as i have seen i havent seen any board racks on an SC.
  3. now isnt that a coincedence!
  4. ok ok this will garantee winning ;) turbo push a safe 12psi and you will kill him but hurry you only have a day till friday!
  5. yup got to change them but are like 100 bucks a piece. but yea do the search you will find a cheaper way to do this.
  6. the tranny mount is about 60 bucks. and is easy to replace dont need much more than a jack and normal tools and jack stands. its a matter of removing liike 8 bolts or something like that if done at a shop it they should charge you half an hour (if they do that) to an hour of labor fees.
  7. it depends onwhere you got the remanufactured compressor. my neighbor got a "remanufactured" compressor for like 350bucks at napa or something like that we changed all of the seals in the system, and in case it leaked again we put a dye in. sure enough the ac didnt last a day. after taking the compressor appart the first thing i noticed is that the clutch bearing was gritty(not a good sign) and well of course before taking off the compressor the UV light determined the leak at the shaft seal. and well it seems like they just cleaned up the outside and re sold it. and of course my neighbor got his money back and we ended up rebuilding his old compressor which is fairly simple anyway. a remanufactured unit from the dealer(if available) should not be a problem. anywhere else could be sketchy. just rebuild the one you have now. most of the time only the shaft seal goes bad anyway, and that can be bought online for like 20 bucks.
  8. oh forgot to add that it was the secondary coil right off the driver side bank above the ac.
  9. just swapped coils and problem solved!. will buy coil tomorow for 75bucks at the dealer.
  10. ok just swapped coils with my LS and sure enough the secondary coil was out. as soon as i changed it the car ran a bit rough at first because it had to burn off the extra fuel but i revved it for a bit and the smoke cleared but as soon as i started i could tell and it purrs like a kitten again!!
  11. yea i have a tip. nos by friday
  12. having the same problem. it happened all of a sudden but im going to try and swap coils and igniters with my LS
  13. that thing about the drilled rotors cracking doesnt happen unless you heat them up alot like in a race application
  14. that rumble going away at higher speeds is classic symptoms of bad trans mount. i went through it all. i changed all of the front suspension and motor mounts which made a big difference too but the thing that topped the cake off was the trans mount instanly you could feel the difference even on startup, and that rumble was gone. oh and 1200bucks seems a bit too much to change upper arms. i know they cost like 2-300 bucks a piece but that is still way too much. i did mine in like 2 hours both sides.
  15. ok this all happened when i was pulling out of my driveway and got out of the car to put mail in the mail box. when i got back in my car had a rough idle and when i accelerated my tack went to zero which is funny too. my engine seems to be running either extremely rich or there is weak spark. i can smell lots of raw fuel out the exhaust and i thought the caps rotors wires and plug needed replacing. and i did but well no luck but it seems to be running smoother so i am guessing im on the right track. i am going to swap coils from my LS to see if the coils are bad. i remember one of you guys saying that you had a bad coil and had problems. and i looked at the wiring diagrams of the coil and the primary sends a signal to the tach so if thats malfunctioning than that would solve everything. any thoughts guys?
  16. 0-60 times for AWD cars is a different class. of course those high power cars have rediculously fast 0-60 times. now dont get it wrong at the time and still now toyota probably has one of the highest, or the highest naturally aspirated 4 liter v8 now 4.3 v8. and then you have to remember there is 300hp in the 430 models, but it is the quietest engine in the world. its easy to make power but not easy to make quiet and powerful. and if you turbo these cars the v8 will make more power than the i6, according to lextremes site.
  17. mmmmm......agagaggaggagagaggagggg looks sooo goood! year after year car mags to sound system tests, and year after year mark levinson/lexus beats all. thats bose in bmw, merc, kardons in jags. no competition .... its just that good
  18. was your car recently in HCI ? well it must have been one of the three that were brought in cool! whats under the hood besides the stock 1jz
  19. yea i agree with bean. its not as easy as it looks or as i described. you should try mold off of smaller things first to get the hang of it. i hear its really hard to get the weaves even and un kincked
  20. yea but 300hp to the wheels against a bit over 200 to the wheels is a big big difference. and if he is doing 12s then you definitely have no chance.
  21. well the nut holds the hub right so if it will torque to that then it is tight enough.
  22. well its just like fiber glass. you lay the carbon cloth, then brush on the epoxy resin. there are different resins for different applications and you repeat the resin and cloth laying a couple times untill you reach the desired thickness.
  23. or you can use 95+ LS400 brakes, they are 4 piston too and you can probably find them cheaper than supra stuff.
