i've had suspension checked by 2 different dealer shops. one reported that strut bar bushing had minor crack. the other reported rear carrier bushings are torn. i will be replacing ball joints next week. should i consider replacing either strut bar bushings or rear carrier bushings? or both? thanks..

i noticed some anti-freeze leaking/seaping from the antifreeze resevoir. it is not coming from the radiator cap. there is a plastic cap that has wire connected to it(next to radiator cap) and the antifreeze is coming out here. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

i recently had dealer inspect my 91 ls400. i was told the strut bar bushings are cracking. are these the same as the rear carrier bushings? also, i've read some other postings which suggested to replace the strut bar instead of only bushings, since bushings are hard to replace. it's easier to install strut bars since bushings are already installed? does anyone know what difference in cost would be? should i also consider replacing sway bar bushings when i have this work completed? they seem inexpensive and dont require a lot of labor. they also said rear axel bootsare leaking grease? it seems the labor time for this is 5 hours ??? any advise/suggestions is very much appreciated... thanks in advance sg

i'm sort of new in la and have a 91 ls400. can anyone recommend a mechanic?(besides the dealer) i need some front-end work and 90k service? also, i need new tires. i currently am using the stock 15 inch rims w/205 65 15 tires(per lexus). i notice extra space in wheel well and would like to go with a larger tire, but am not sure of which size. any suggestions??? thanks. sg

thanks for all your help, at my last service i was told about my P/S rack. It was beginning to show some seapage. when i called dealer to ask about smoking at start-up and losing fluid he said it sounded like problem was VSV switch or valve? quoted repair at 350.00. havent taken it in yet. Does this sound right? Also, if anyone in LA can recommend a mechanic i'd appreciate it a lot. havent been here too long, and have always gone to dealer. thanks

hello, i have a 91 ls 400, 95k, which is leaking power steering fluid. i already replaced the p/s pump last year. i was told now that i need to replace the rack and pinion unit? i've also noticed that in the last week or two, that when i start my car after its been idle, overnight or an hour or so, i see some white smoke come from exhaust. it does not smell like oil or anti-freeze. could this be the p/s fluid? i am also replacing the p/s fluid more frequently during this period. Also, my A/C stopped working right after p/s pump was replaced. someone mentioned to me that the mechanic may have hit something while installing p/s pump. any ideas? i'm new to LA area and dealer here charges 100.00 just to look at A/C. thanks in advance for any help sg
