  1. UCF3 is correct. Fing the water leak first before fixing anything else
  2. http://www.lexus.com/models/bluetooth/index.html
  3. I really doubt the problem was from the ecu to the solenoid. Since you had valve cover gaskets replaced, the engine wire harness has to be moved to get the rear valve cover off. During the repair you have to unplug the connector for the fan motor from the p/s pump. The shop never plugged the connector back in the p/s pump after the wire harness was put back on the rear valve cover.
  4. Hey GaryA, so if you run over a nail and get a flat tire,or a blowout, do you want Lexus to pay for a new tire? Or a rock flying from a truck tire that cracks your windshield, you want Lexus to pay for that also? Your claim of a design flaw is ridiculous. How many Rx's are out on the road? How many have people have holes in the condenser from road debris? You got unlucky and need a condenser. All cars need open scoops to allow the condenser and radiator to get airflow. You were in the right place at the wrong time.
  5. Buy a cheap voltmeter and connect it to the battery. Run the high beams, flashers, blower on high, wipers on fast. The voltage should not drop below 12.4 at idle.
  6. poor quality, cheap bulbs will also cause the indicator to stay on as the bulbs draw the incorrect amperage
  7. I think the warning triangle refers to the one on the combo meter to warn you of problems, seat belts, brakelights, door open, hood open, etc,.
  8. I have seen photos of a coupe and couple convertible which are on paper for release in 8-16 months. No hybrid yet that I've seen.
  9. Tires have allot to do with stopping distances. Tire pressures and wear will change how the RX440h brakes.
  10. The wireless code and immobilizer code can be erased at the dealer so only the key(s) you have will work. The thief can still open the door with the key cylinder, but not start the car. You'll have to get the cylinders and keys replaced to stop the theif cold.
  11. That is the overdrive solenoid. It could be plugged with debris or the tranny is falling apart. You dont have to remove the valve body to replace it. I have attached a picture of the valve body and S4 solenoid that you need to check out. Cant add an attachment. Email me and I can send you the pic.
  12. Just because your address on the repair order is correct doesn't mean your address is correct in the national database. Repair orders are written with a different program that doesn't match to Lexus's "dealer daily" system. Surveys are sent from Lexus "dealer daily" info, not from the dealerships repair order info.
  13. The procedure I described is without removing the throttle body. All work done on the car. I learned the procedure from an Japanese engineer, it'd different from the repair manual. You want to lose conitinuity, not have .40 resistance. It will give the best off throttle response.
  14. You are on the right track. Put a .014" feeler gauge between the throttle lever and small stop screw on the thottle body. Where the throttle cables connect to the throttle body you'll see the small screw, usually has yellow paint on it. Once the feeler gauge is between the screw and lever connect an ohmmeter to the bottom 2 pins on the TPS. move the TPS until you lose continuity. Move the TPS back and forth a couple times slowly to find the "sweet spot" where it breaks continuity and tighten the set screws for the TPS. Clear the code and you're done.
  15. Has anyone seen aftermarket carrier bushings for the GS400's? Similar to the ones for the LS400's?
  16. If you have a pre 1998 V8, with over 120,000 I can almost bet money they a few valves are out of adjustment. I've adjusted every V8 that i've ever had the valve covers off of. Out in CA, it's about $600 to do the job.
  17. The blinking ac light is due to a compressor revolution sensor not seeing the compressor rotate. Check power to the clutch and spin it buy hand to see if the compressor is seized or the shaft is broken.
  18. Low side port on a es250 is well before the Evaporator which uses liquid R12 to "evaporate" and absorb heat. R12 liquid will not reach the compressor.
  19. Yes, the crap TOYO tires were the summer option tire. Bridgstone was the all season
  20. Since you have a vacuum pump, pump the system down as low as you can. Then charge through the low side only, you will get in some charge due to the vacuum in the system and pressure of the charge cans. Once you have enough in to runs the compressor start it and let the a/c compressor pull in the rest of the charge at about 2000 rpm. Low side will take liquid or vapor, while charging without damage. Make sure you have added compressor oil to the system.
  21. Why would you wash the filter and reuse? It's gray color is from carbon in the material and all you're doing is reducing the filters ability to adsorb( not absorb) odors. Just replace it.
