  1. There is a TSIB for the "rocking" feeling at 40 and 70mph. Software change. As for the noise after the car is shut off, it could be the electric motor (mg1) spinning off excessive power from the HV battery. If the HV battery charge is higher than the ECU wants, it will run mg1 to bring the state of chage down.
  2. There is no "freeze plug" on these 1uzfe blocks. There are 2 drains, one on each side the the block and 1 water plate near the right motor mount that is sealed with 2 nuts and FIPG. By the looks of where the leak is, I'd say the heater control valve, or rear water bypass that connects each of the cylinder heads is leaking. If either of these are leaking it will run down to the bottom between the engine and trans area.
  3. Possible they didn't bleed out the air from the system. There's a 17mm bolt/plug on the top thermostat housing. It's in front of the "L" on the intake manifold and the small black plastic plug wire cover. That's where the coolant should be filled to purge out any major air pockets. Then the overflow bottle will purge out minor air pockets with the cap off and engine running.
  4. A new master key cannot be programmed with a valet key. I new ecu is needed.
  5. Michelin Pilots are the best that I've seen for road use and wear life.
  6. The 2 systems are different. The A/c dryer has nothing in common with the TRAC accumulator. Different parts, different operation.
  7. It's worth it to me in the long run. I've seen better MPG, less pressure changes in the tires. Lower tire temps which equals longer tire life. I've been running it for about 2 years now and it's well worth it in my opinion.
  8. A glowing cat. would indicate it's working too hard from raw fuel going into it. Sounds like you have a ignition misfire on the bank that the cat. was glowing on. You may have damaged the wires/cap/spark plugs when removing them to check the timing belt.
  9. I'm sure all the starving/homeless children across the world are upset that people can't input destinations while driving. What a horrible thing! Boohoo. :cries:
  10. If the wind noise is so excessive, then how could anyone not hear it on a test drive? The window is right next to your ear. Sounds like buyers' remorse and internet hysteria, tricking people into thinking there is a problem. I don't understand why someone would test drive a car without observing all characteristcs of the car. How quiet it is, engine/powertrain noise, stereo quality, etc,. I don't think the burden is on Lexus. They designed a car for YEARS, test drove it for over 100,000 miles and were happy with the level of "wind noise" is exhibited. The burden is on the customer for not paying attention to the cars characteristics before spending over $70,000, and now they want something fixed that isn't a problem in my mind. I would totally understand if the problem presented itself AFTER the vehicle was bought. This "wind noise" was ALWAYS there.
  11. It's amazing how many people cry and complain about wind noise this and that. "It's not acceptable". "It's time for a class action lawsuit"? Why would you go buy a new LS460, and then start complaining about issues such as wind noise, road noise, etc,. Did you not TEST DRIVE the car before you bought it? I can understand a rattle or dead battery, broken door handle, etc, causing a problem after you bought the car, then complain all you want. The wind noise was always there, before you bought the car, before it got delivered to the dealership. So why cry and complain that Lexus needs to do something about it? It's the way the car is. All cars create some type of air turbulence noise that can be heard from inside the car. If you don't like it why did you buy it? If you bought the car without even test driving it, then I'd have to say that you're foolish.
  12. There is a TSIB for GX's that don't cool well in hot areas, especially at low engine rpm. TSIB AC003-06. You're condition sounds like a low charged system, but this TSIB repair will fix it.
  13. What year is your LS430? There is a TSIB for 2001-2002 Ls430 for this problem TSIB#El006-02. Updated rain sensor.
  14. The system in the LS460 is extremely accurate. The display on the combo meter is rounded to the nearest whole number. The actual reading as viewed with the Lexus techstream PC is accurate to to +/- .1 psi, and +/- 2 degrees F for temperature.
  15. Not sure if we have the same letter. Mine car was a lease and if you are 6 months from the end of your lease you can get out early if you lease/buy any Lexus/Toyota/Scion vehicle. I got out of the lease on mine, and if you stick with the same model you get an extra $1000 bonus cash. Pretty good deal. I got out of my lease and into another with no drive off $$$ due to the bonus cash offer.
  16. There is a 2 wire connector on the p/s pump. It controls the speed of the cooling fan, make sure it's plugged into the pump or the fan never reach full speed.
  17. I'm sure starving/homeless kids across the world are also worried about the Nav lockout. I think kids with diseases and cancer are worried about it also. Good God! If the Nav lockout is such an important issue in people lives then I think their priorities are in the wrong places.
  18. Good luck, production will stop next month for the US market.
  19. You need to use each window switch and manually run it down and up to relearn the auto feature, then they will all work from the master switch
  20. Why increase the amount of fuel to reduce pinging, and increase emissions, when you can change ignition timing. These days it's about lowering emissions, not keeping power/torque at it's peak. WWest you should read a live data list from a Lexus ECU and you'll see how much more timing changes than injector pulse width, especially during detonation.
  21. I was trying to stay away from this topic, but I can't resist. Ignition timing will change to compensate for fuel octane, as will pulse width of the fuel injectors. Ignition advance constantly changes and you can see it using a scantool, especially when pinging/knocking occurs. I don't know about Bosch systems but Lexus ECU's will change ignition advance all the time. Lower octane fuel will reduce engine power and the quality of the trans shift. ES350 or RX350 engines they have short skirts on the pistons, & cold start piston slap does happen on these GR engines, and most people don't notice. All the cases(86 cases) of piston slap I've seen have been from people that use regular fuel, Every single complaint for cold start piston slap has been aleviated by using premium fuel. I work for a dealer and have dealt with many issues regarding regular and unleaded. Use what you want, premium fuel will make driveability better.
  22. You'll need 22mm and 24mm for the control arm removal.
  23. did the vibrations start after the water pump job?
