  1. The metal tube is pressed into the water bypass and sealed from the factory. I would replace the bypass.
  2. The one closest to the engine is the TPS, the other one near the plastic intake tube is for the TRAC system.
  3. There is no recall on 2001 ES300 transmissions
  4. Sounds like the blower motor linear contriller has failed. I've replaced many of them. You need to remove the glove box and it's near the blower motor, towards the center of the dash, the blower motor wiring comes from the controller.
  5. There is a bulletin for 2006 gs300 to replace valve liftere due to misfire codes. It also applies to is350's, same engine. Just because the bulletin says to replace lifters for a misfire isn't the only time it applies. Sounds like your lifters are dragging enough to not cause a misfire, just create noise.
  6. :chairshot: Sounds like the mass air flow sensor has failed.
  7. The LS460 has a digital Lexus link, older models have an analog system which will soon no longer work due to the FCC mandate that communication systems must be digital, not analog.
  8. The noise is the expansion valve, normal noise.
  9. The 2JZ motor is onr of the best Toyota/Lexus engines ever made. Using a flush to "clean" the insides will almost result in oil leaks soon after. Just use good oil and change if frequently.
  10. After the sesnor is replaced you must still clear the code using the steps in my last post. The light will not go off on it's own.
  11. The MPG regular vs. premium posts have been beaten to death. Bottm line use premium in any Lexus that has VVT-I. You will get better MPG. I have a 2005 Es330 that gets 280-295 with regular and 330-343 with premium. Baseline 50 miles per tank more with premium, $4.35 more to get at least 50 miles per tank, with better performance.
  12. Yes, rear spring/shocks can be removed without removing the axles. An extra set of hands is helpfull to pull and push the carrier to pop out the shock/spring assembly
  13. Common for fuel pump ECU's to fail on these coupes. Behind the the drivers side quater panel trim. Near the seat belt assembly.
  14. Yes I have. They are from the repair manual. I did some head gaskets a couple months ago and followed the specs.
  15. Lower intake is 11 ft/lbs, the plenum, or upper intake is 32 ft/lbs
  16. PO 125 will go away, pops up when the A/F sensor is almost failed.
  17. I work for a dealer, so we get to go to the product launches. Drove the LS460 vs BMW and Benz on a road course to see how the Lexus product domniates the S-class and 7-series last week.
  18. Too much stuff to type, my hands would cramp up. Lots of options, best one is the executive rear seat package with the recliner chair and shiatsu massage, infrared body sensors for the rear A/C, power trunk opener/closer, VGRS, EPS. Nice brake HOLD button. Push it and it lock the brakes, so you can release the brake pedal at a stop, step on the gas and it releases the brakes. Electric parking brake that releases automaticly, when you go into gear. Lots of torque from the motor. over a hunderd horsepower more than the 430, with .3 liters bigger motor and better fuel economy. Electric intake VVt-i, hollow cams, 0w-20 oil, engines are balanced, balanced with a trans, then with the drivetrain, then with the car, 4 times total. Lots of stuff, too much to list.
  19. Check all the fuses under the hood, Check the big fusible links too. Your efi fuse is probably blown. Doubt you need a new ECU. Your cig fuse inside the car is probably blown also.
  20. Just drove a LS460 and the 8-speed is killer, super low 4.59 for quick takeoff, closer range 2-6 gears for almost seamless shifting and 7-8 overdrive for better fuel economy. Great LS.
  21. Replace the l/f speed sensor and it will fix the problem. Code 35 pops up because the ecu uses signal from the l/f to match to the r/r, Code 35 is a bogus code as it has no reference signal to compare to. When you get a code 32 you will get a code 35. L/f and R/r work together as the R/f and L/r work together. Replace the l/f, that is your problem. Use a wire and jump pins Tc and E1 of the DLC connector, turn the key on and press the brake predel 8 times within 3 seconds to clear the code.
  22. This topic has alignment and rotate in almost every post. What about tires pressures? Low pressure with a normal, negative camber setting will wear the inner shoulder of the tire.
  23. Plugs should come out by hand tools easily, the wires may break if they are old.
