  1. Hi. Is it possible to upgrade the 05/RX330 navigation/screen display? I don't like the display in the navigation computer screen since it looks very dated and old. (The look and feel of the screens.) I like the navigation, climate, info screens in the newer RX 350. Is it possible to remove the old navigation computer chip (or computer) and install a newer one without buying a newer RX or am I just stuck? Is it very costly to date the screen? Thank you!
  2. what is the difference between air filter and cabin filter? If it is two different things, is it easy to change the cabin filter? I'm going to ask my husband to do it for me. :) thanks for the advice.
  3. I'm looking for recommendation of where to purchase the CD (or DVD?) to update the maps for my navigation system. I believe the dealer price is about $400. Is there anywhere to purchase for < $200??? Thank you.
  4. Does anyone have any idea when the new body style / model will come out for the Rx series? 2008? 2009? (Hmm, I did not know that the Rx 330s are not longer made starting in 2007, just the 350s or 400h's now.) Thank you.
  5. Last month my car was in the dealership (15K service). I had the RX 350 as the loaner car. I loved the car's navigations system. My 05 rx330 seemed old compared to that one. For your entertainment humor...Not being technically familiar with the RX 330 other than just driving it, I asked my brother if getting a DVD for my car would bring me a better picture (like in the Rx 350). I came to find out the Rx 350 has a better chip or computer program for the navigation. Other than the navigation, I really like the 350. I do agree that the gas pedal is very sensitive; however, on the other side, I found that the "get up and go" on the freeway was better than my car.
  6. Everyone, thanks for all the great information. I'll take a look at the suggested web site for lease versus buy. :)
  7. If the lease versus buy discussion on posted already, pls refer me the read. Does anyone have a recommended site or dicussion area for me to educate myself on whether I should lease or purchase my next Lexus. I currently own my 05 RX 330, but thinking about switching to another vehicle like the RX 400H. (My parents are interested and want to buy my Rx 330; thus, my thinking about another Lexus.) I usually switch cars every 4 years and drive less then 15K a year. I've always purchased vehicles, but keep hearing from others that it may be better - financially - to lease vehicles instead. As always, thank in advance for your prompt replies. This is a great forum.
  8. Would you please share or direct me to the list of bluetooth phones that are compatible with the 2005 RX 330? I'm thinking about getting another phone, but I am not sure what to look for. I'm interested in Motorola phones. Thank you.
  9. I have a ’05 RX330 in the Sacramento, CA area. My car now needs 10K service, which I found out costs $225 and includes oil change, rotate tires, and cabin filter change. This will be my first “paid” service to Lexus; the 5K service was complimentary. I wondered is it really worth bringing the car there or find a local place with experience working on Lexus. I am also looking into if others received an “employee discount” through their family and was there a big price difference? (My family member works for a dealership and inquiring on any “employee discounts” if any. ) I need to get the car serviced within the next week, but wanted to find out what people on the forum thought. I appreciate your thoughts/feedback. Thanks.
  10. I've gone to Lexus of Roseville for my car maintenance and *never* experienced the problems that you've mentioned. As I've said before, I've always had good experience with Lexus of Sacramento and Roseville. I'm not the average misinformed consumer. I wonder whether you did not have a good tech? It happens sometimes.
  11. I've brought my 05 rx330 to the two dealerships in the Sacramento, CA area (Lexus of Roseville and Lexus of Sacramento). I had my 5K service and received great service. I have brought the Lexus in to the Sacramento dealership just to get it washed. Always great service and clean car.
