  1. Sounds like the VSV that controls the EGR is partially stuck open.
  2. Cam seals do leak on the VVT-I V8. I've changed 2 sets, and seen many leak. They are not like the older 1uz-fe engine where you can take off the cam gear and replace the seal. The VVT-I V8 cam seal is behind the cylinder head . You have to remove the cam from the head and disassemble it to remove the cam seal. Lot more time consuming. If yours leak down the road, you'll have to remove the timing belt, valve covers and cams to replace the 2 seals
  3. Bad TPS can cause all kinds of driveablity problems.

  5. EVERY Lexus model that have wood trim uses REAL wood. How? Because I saw a video on how the make it!
  6. Hmmmm....................Sounds like you hammered them on prior surveys so the dealer changed your address ( a digit on the zip code, etc ) so it never gets delivered. Seen it many, many, many times.
  7. Buy,or borrow a dial indicator and set it up on the steering knuckle/ wheel hub area. Then try to move it. If you see the indicator move, you need new bearings. If not move it to the lower and upper ball joints and check those. 5 minutes to correctly diag. the problem.
  8. Use a 19mm, 12 point socket and pound it on with a hammer, it will take of the wheel lock.
  9. Without the alignment angles, it's impossible to tell what is the problem. I'd run 40psi in the tires (cold) and rotate every 5000 miles. See if you can get a printout and post the angles.
  10. You have to remove the valve cover to replace the plug tower seals.
  11. Basically it is the high spot of the tire that would cause a vibration since the tire is not round. Matching the high spot of the tire to the low spot on the wheel reduces road force variation and is measured in lbs. Anything over 12 lbs will cause some abnormal feel in the vehicle. Your tires are way over and I would have them matched for a smoother ride. Do you have an alignment printout? What are the angles?
  12. What if you decel in "B" mode on the trans? Will the power meter dip into the blue?
  13. Invoice, I bet 99.9% of the invoice prices people are quoted or find online, including Edmunds.com are pure B.S. The only true invoice is straight from the dealer daily website. Only dealer GM's have the real numbers. They will also B.S. the salesmen as to the "invoice" to keep profit in the deal.
  14. Will be affected by the state of charge of the battery and the speed at which you're traveling. If the S.O.C. is high and battery temp is high, you won't regen.
  15. If you have the motor off, here's how to retime it. Plug the motor to the harness, from the door window switch, run AUTO down until the motor stops. Then hold MANUAL up 6-9 revolutions, I use paint marks on the gear teethto help count. Unplug the motor and count the teeth on the regulator, find the middle and bolt the motor there. You can only get one bolt started and will have to take the assembly to the car and plug the motor and drive it to move the regulator to access the other bolt holes DO NOT HIT AUTO UP OR DOWN during this step. Once the 3 bolts are tight put the regulator/motor unit back into the car. When it's in hold manual down until it stops, then manual up until it stops.
  16. I've seen many rear motors fail. No TSIB's or info other than I've done about 10 motors in the last year.
  17. Check the charging system and parasitic draw of the electrical system.
  18. Sound like worn motor and trans mounts. Front lower strut rod sounds like a problem too.
  19. That is the CCV, canister close valve. You need it or you will have CEL problems.
  20. Just do the head gasket yourself. Really easy motor to work on.
  21. Unbolt the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve, instead of removing the EGR valve. Loosen the engine removal hook on the passanger side from the block and remove the bolt in the manifold. Will help in aligning the bolt later.
  22. The cover are not all for looks, they actually are for aerodynamics. They help reduce negative pressure in the engine bay, improving fuel economy and wind noise.
  23. TRAC will store a code without a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. It's in the factory repair manuel page BR-162.
