  1. what has the daeler said when these issues have been raised
  2. once you pick the car up just brush it on since it is nice and clean no rust or mild corrosion to worry about oh ayh the stuff it 4 times more expensive about $45 here and $8 for the can but like we all know you get what you pay for
  3. i am worried you seem to think the 1mz-fe engine is not obd 2 jpi if you are a lexus tech or are you a tech who is not at a dealer? i know the obd 2 became the standard in 96 and up vehicles but eh 94 1mz-fe was the actual first use of the obd2 plugs and codes odd? lexus does warrenty its service usually i think 1 year take it back they will resolve it for you nothing to worry about unless tehy are 89 miles away
  4. the dealer is the place for mileage otherwise check your local yellow pages and search the cluster and hvac is a dealer or wrecker part and the radio is up to how you want to replace it there are some differences in decks from 92-96 but nothing major some cdrs work in the changer but the laser has to be dead on easier to buy a new deck and change and get it put in oh yah the 92-96 hoods are the same but not the front grille they just look different ** hey bbsal** this is how you add something to what you are saying when you remember not doing another post 2 minutes later :D
  5. 1 glad you like the club and welcome 2 the engine is made for premium for timing , any thing less and you are short changing yourself on mileage and performance 3 leave it in d no need to change around ( some people like to talk just to hear there own voice ,by saying do somthing weird they think they are specialists) d will make sure the torque convertor is engaged when needed the tranny has a computer let it figure it out,the options are for when there is extra load or a need to use the minimal engine brakeing properties 4 a new car especially from lexus doesn't need cleaning they clean it at the dealer and when it is built befoer shipping from japan in the plant only possibilities are for fabric or paint protection 5 enjoy the club and steviej has the most answers on your model year
  6. the colour is pretty much standard toyota/lexus colour code but the pearls are slightly tweaked and the lower valances are the exact same colour as the rest of the car even though i use the original code i have never seen another es with the saem kind of twinkle to it at angles
  7. oem colour is 4000-4500k they also have up to 8000k but they are just rellly blue looking luemens or candle power which is the actual brightness of the bulbs output
  8. i don't think it is part of a seam origanally intended like the webbing just hope that your car gets a real bad sludging of the oil and tehn lexus will give you a new engine then no worries sorry i have no seam on my 94 es with the same 1mz-fe aluminum engine which have identical blocks just some upper improvements but castings can be modified from origanal design
  9. didn't you already post this??? and if you have had mechanic look at it then how come it didnt' get fixed?
  10. i don't mean to sound like i am talking down to you as i am not but some of the things mentioned are basics of cars i think before you go opening up a car and its internals again ask for instructions or you may get real screwed up,like i am with spelling and grammer a lexus is not a firefly or a cavalier it has many parts that can be easily destroyed by removing parts or components that seem redundent with all its electronics even the stereo is not the simplest to change after all the only stupid question is the one not asked an ecu is Electronic control unit it is the brain of the car and many other elctronics no unpluggin it will do nothing for you you will probably will only be told you have to replace the whole unit by lexus as many dealers today are replace parts not repair parts the assembly is the part you pulled out that is located above the radio with the controller
  11. sorry the ls is too pimp for me i like to drive and drive hard so i need to feel the road not fall asleep lol but i feel the same way white just doesn't do it for me the blue or black that is it or nothing else for me with black interior also
  12. imo if lexus made a starlet version sure but otherwise leave it as it is for the badges, it kind of like bmw angel eyes or z3 fenders on a japanese car they look amazing on a bmw but they don't belong on a supra or a civic because it matches there german theme get rims for her but i am more sure they are really for you ,like all good husband gifts are lol
  13. yah it would have to be in the tranny as you can spin the gear and get a change in readings
  14. oh yah funny enough that fat bald guy in the one pic is me in case anyone was wondering
  15. funny enough the car is dark mettalic green with purple and brown pearl but unless the light hits it ,it looks black i wondered that myself after lookig at one pic that mcv took i have never seen it that dark thanks mcv i have more pics but won't waste bandwidth on cheap thrills of seeing half naked women draped on my car i might try and get them hosted somewhere
  16. as a thought i don't see that much activity on the section to need seperate areas also there is a topic description to fill in the model availble to as well it make is easier for looking to buy parts as there are many cross vehicle parts liek rims all of them have 114.3 x5 but the trucks just different offsets and sizes
  17. drilled rotors are more common to cracking but only under extreme stresses, tey are mainly good for removing heat by letting the gass excape through the center vents slotted rotors cause a little more brake dust but also keep the brakes fresh by removing a thin layer of pad and heat with every pass they have designs that have both int he rotors i prefer a good slotted rotor only the drilled ones are pretty much good for the track where there might be temps needed for that i have had slotted for about 1 year and they are fantasic i have slotted and drilled on my wifes car and tey improved it amazingly get the power slots and you will be happy i am not sure on the companies quality as many companies make parts but a few actually R&D them first like slots are much better when curved than a straight line as it keeps the noise of rotor chatter down also a good beveled edge to also reduse noise by allowing a smotth edge for it to come off of and lastly a full slot going from inside to right off the edge of the rotor alowwing the heat to dissapate good luck
  18. you may not belive draining you system and swithing the coolant from red to green is no problem but you will soon find out the system you have is not compatiable with green coolant make sure you drop us a line and tell us how much it cost to replace every thing
  19. yup sounds like some one used the wrench to tighten the filter uinstead of only removing it i have done the screwdriver a few times and it is easy enough
  20. if the car is turning over i am not sure it might be a charging system problem at all more than likely it is the fuel pump pressure when you turn the key forward and listen carfully before the key is turned to start so you hear the whrrr of the fuel pump? also if it doesn't start right away try just turning the key forward to the on ,not start position a few times and leaving it in position a couple of secs and see if it helps if so then it is a delivery of fuel problem probably the pump but maybe the filter but reading it again you mention it is after refueling possible over filling of the gas tank loss of vacum pressure try the fuel pump first
  21. the tornado is junk as stated i had a friend who sold it in his performance shop and he even told me it is just a gimmick it rotates air there by reducing turbulances for combustion only problem there are many openings and the throttle plate to block a twisting flow which would only create more turbulance since it would be spinning also the stupid demo they have of the chinese guy and the water bottles showing how it doesn't let water flow natually untill he starts a tornado action it is only because the water is now swirling it leaves a little gap in the middle for the air to get by thus not causing the air to bubble up from the water
  22. tell us how much the new headlight assembly costs when you melt the one you have from over powering it you have almost doubled th power a regualr filament powered bulb uses halogen gas inside it it is very innefficent and produces a lot of heat to make output of light ( canlde power) you are now adding to it so the heat will now cause the insides to melt and the light assembly to be a big pice of scrap plastic i have seen it many times over where everyone wants a better bulb and brighter but only create more problems the high beam is always brighter as it is a 65w cuircit and the front of the bulb does not have a light deflector you want brighter than a silverstar then spend the money and get real hid's other wise don't blind other motorists with exessive light and save your self a few bucks on a new headlight
  23. the ls handle is not the same as the es one i had checked a few years ago for a chrome cap and they are a different shape
  24. the denso's are real pricey but are good for the forced induction engines but minimal differences in any others ngk's are also good
  25. :whistles: get the ls and i will come down and buy the gs :D 260 in 95 and 97 i can't find my 96 book so i am guessing it is also the same 260 by the way what colour is the GS?
