  1. yah the light on the dash or the light on the roof are tehy on with the door open? if not your switch is stuck
  2. did you ever check to see if somethign fell in a cylinder and is locking it up? a new starter usually always works does it start to turn over like a machine gun after a while? btw you payed too much for the optima sam's club has tehm for 190 canadian ,so about 150 usd
  3. you have got a lot to lose with sealers ,like your whole engine. "do it right and cry once" no clue who said it but it makes sense the sealer can seal holes that are supposed to be open as many cars have very tiny water jackets around the pistons and other high heat areas for reinforcement. it is not as expensive as you think to change a gasket
  4. just for kicks i was thinking about your problem today and thought maybe it is the speed sensor or the throttle cable to the trannny not being in the right position
  5. they almost never need to be replaced 90% of the time they can be cleaned as eaisily and quickly with brake or throtle body cleaner
  6. It is saying the oxygen sensor is defective for the engine, not the hvac system. So you are running rich right now and wasting gas until you fix it.
  7. lexus gaskets are one peice so you have to replace the glass as well it needs the shims added to get it back to close perfectly the easiest way is to use meguires tire endurance on all the seals in the car from the doors to the trunk and windows also make sure there isn't a leaking grommet on the firewall letting air in the passenger compartment also maek sure the plastic in the doors are stillsealing well by resiliconing them especially if you feel cold air throught the door handle or speaker grilles when driving
  8. i agree we may never seee a difference but there is one
  9. ahh i think i now understand what you mean ,i wasn;t thinking of the round knob passing the switch. Thanks i now know .
  10. the 92-93 with their steel blocks tend to warp and need new headgaskets more commonly , as well as a constant overheating problem. trannies don;t fair much better once it gets a good does of extra heat either
  11. it is great but has little to no benfits that will be realised on a car that is not raced or stressed in a high heat enviorment
  12. i am in the currently unempolyed tax bracket but i also have a true custom performance /modification buisness meaning if you can dream it ( and pay for it) i will find a way to build it
  13. all lexus vehicles have the ecu logic built in to start in auto with a/c on once you turn the button off it still works the same as in auto but with out the a/c or auto light on anymore
  14. the 1mz -fe engine has always been obd 2 since it started in 94 it should fit but hell they don;t even know there years possible as the engine bay is 100% identical in 94-96
  15. front and rear which lights do still work or not
  16. you want to hear the stupidist part about this whole thread I OWN A CIVIC i do all sorts of performance mods except rice so it is like the kettle calling the pot black ( as my mother used to say ) i don;t think i am better it just seems more of a statment that belongs to a more entry level vehicle and a mind set of getting a look while losing major handling and control issues so you can just simmer down because i am a mod don;t mean i know !Removed! about !Removed! , i have always said that i spend about as much time here as i do no the honda boards local and north american i am glad you didn;t take offense as i meant none , it is always a good thing to have an open mind and ask questions as that way you can learn easily. lexus owners....... honda owners.... they are both great cars in a different price bracket and a niche each there own i didn't make any statment that wouldn't have been reacted the same on a honda board but after i mentioned i own and love my civic that kind of shut this up incase you were wondering 89 si wings west kit painted nissan skyline r34 gtr blue/purple volk te 37 bronze rims with dunlop graspic 17 inch snows gsr brake mugen zc ecu strut bars ,cai, intake ,plug wires header 2/14 cat back angle muffler momo champion wheel SK2 shifter race nuts and my pride a zc dohc integra engine with a zc 5 spd tranny in it suspension is still stock as i havent made my mind up on what i will do more with it track /street with good ol'e recaros does this change your mind relax .........life is short
  17. sure which part? glad the squakers worked as mint as they did 5 years ago the last time they were used before storage
  18. he will get back to me by monday as i have no idea on pricing for sure he used to do a swap of old emblems but now sells it was part of the core instead of a return/exhchange
  19. i usually go for a quick oput around the block at about 20km 3500 rpm
  20. 92 -93 junk ,engine and tranny became noticable in the engines in 97 or so tranny in 99 for breaking down 94-96 engine bullet proof, tranny not as great for 94 - 01 same became noticable in 99 for most owners 97-01 engine is great but has a tendency for gelling from under maintance 02-03 time will tell but the tranny is still kind of being worked on
  21. redline products are great but it won;t help him stop losing coolant
  22. you just posted the same question already
  23. could even be a hole in the intake hose check it for a rip or hole it can cause the maf to read wrong and cause misfires and running lean or a bad coil
  24. the laser is off alignment and is moving away or closer as it nears the outer edge of the disc making it harder for it to focus you can try cleaning it but it might help at a minimum
  25. it is a charcoal canister that is used to trap gas vapour until the engine sucks it back in so it does not go into the enviormentas part of emmision controls get a new one as it should increase your mileage as you aren't evaporating fuel in the air or possible going to start a fire
