  1. it is more than liekly the headlight switch since it can cut the fog lights off when the high beams are turned on i would say it is miss aligned rather than buying a new peice i would try and clean or adjust it to make the contacts again it may have been a bad arc removing some of the contact and the carbon finally wearing away to get covered up again
  2. go to speedy or midas or one of those for a free estimate use only toyota exhaust parts not there cheap ones it is more than likely a bad flex joint that is leaking and getting worse the y pipe usually breaks because of driving over something or more often because of a broken engine mount causeing too much flex and breaking it about 350 for the part and 100 labour
  3. usually here a reman cv axle is about 300 the dealer is close to 700 it also depends on why you are changing it is the boot ripped or is the joint clicking? if a ripped boot then it is real easy ( yah right) it includes the same amonut of labour to take the damn thing out anyway to change the boot as it has to be off the car for a good proper repair it is also a real pain in the !Removed! to change i have ,and have all the tools check previous cv threads for other prices always ask for a camry alternator never the lexus one there are lots of assssses who prey on others because of an L MB or BMW and the such on the car use its cheaper cousins name i had a place quote me 60 over a camry price to tint the windows yet they have the same window surfaces and angles except mine is easier as they are pillar less windows
  4. if the engine is getting to normal temp but the hvac system is changing easily the air temp then it is more than likly a blockage or the valve which is controls the flow of coolant to the heater core a common problem for leaks it might even be a vacume leak but highly unlikely but i doubt it as vacume drops with load and usually does the opposite of it
  5. it can do no harm to have a magnetic drainplug just like the ribbed fins to go over the oil filter to lower its temp or the magnets people use on the back of some filters for extra metal retention no clue if the original one is magnetic but i have yet to clean any metal off mine
  6. short arms are crap loss of power ,mileage just added noise and slight increase in inital powerband as more efficent flow than a stock intake, but it sucks hot engine bay air which lowers the overall input of the engine a cai is the only way to go cold air so increase power and mileage and a nice noise also
  7. if the 215's are snow tires then it is perfect to be narrower the speedo would never know the difference it is so small in rolling diameter you would never be able to tell the 60 refers to a percent of the overall width so 60% of 225 is 135mm while 60% of 215 is 129mm hardly a difference ,but one none the less.
  8. should be able to find any old red neck to cut the springs i thought i would only see this kind of question on a civic board not here
  9. easy to change just a couple of bolts with the right tools i have no dea where you should look as you haven;t filled in the location part of your profile
  10. they look idential but the es one has the above and below option harness which the camry does not you might have to bite the bullet or pull yours apart and use the camry one to rebuild yours ,if you are into custom mods
  11. i thought the gx and 4 runner were different truck platforms? the sequoia looks identical as the 4 runner is lower in head room and you are sitting almost parellel to the floor for greater clearence but icould be wrong we don;t have the gx here yet
  12. it is a normal way of shifting in all toyotas mentioned a few times of high rpm cold shifts
  13. use a good flush every 3 months or so, almost any $20 dollar one is good get a motorvac done about 130 and makes the car run like new it cleans the system out perfectly
  14. If it is a cheap beater who cares if the heated seats and a/c work?
  15. most pressure swithces are just dirty but can be cleaned with brake cleaner rather than replacing it also how is the oil level
  16. change the gasket always but dropping the pan removes about 33% of it only the rest is deep inside and needs to be flushed i clean my filter always when i change it i also use a machine to flush the old fluid out when it reaches operating temp
  17. what you are asking for is a comparision ,which noen can be draw to understand its severity unless the vehicle is inspected. Your are going to have to take it to a service center to have an estimate done to see how bad they really are. any leak is just a leak until enough fluid disapears to cause metal on metal
  18. i would disagree with your statments and also counter with the reasoning that no where in your post did it state what the difference of the red and green is beside oraganic or not it only mentions the green make up but not the difference who has had a problem with the red anyone? i think not,at least not with a lexus a gm is a whole different animal if you feel better saving a couple dollars for the green then go ahead
  19. a little more than the angle but it really is just the setup of the fins being resized and angled to allow a lower coefficent of liquid friction
  20. sure which ever colour it happens to be in your area from the toyota parts desk maybe the pink if for hot climates only
  21. did you ever check to see the other posts where the power steering pump leaks on the alternator?
