  1. If you have 2 belts that both dies quickly it is usually installed improperly not the belt. I prefer an OEM belt as many others do for the peice of mind, i would only upgrade it if i could get a greddy/trust or a kevlar belt built for twice as long an interval.
  2. Yes the stock pipe is restrictive but compared to aftermarket ones it is built much better in the flex joints. So i prefer a oem over aftermarket especially considering it has sheilding which is not present on aftermarket ones to kep noise and heat down.
  3. Basically it depends on who makes the suspension. What kind of ride you want how much you want to spend With my JIC i need to take off my rims, i probably could adjust the collar up and down with the rims but it would be much harder to get the wrenches around the collars to loosen the locking perch and adjust the seat one up or down. Not something you want to do at the side of the road since anyway you put it you have to jack up the car.
  4. Once it gets heat cycled with the brakes a few times they are not going to go anywhere. Just don;t spray a power washer on them and have painted calipers first.
  5. Glad you like it. Chevy still does make a good truck but a different league.
  6. all depends how big ,how many and how steady your hand is. With light layers it can come out pretty good.
  7. Rust check is great but the number one prevention is to use a power washer 2 times a month. On my 94 ES i used to go to a power washer and spray the crap out of it under and inside the wheel wells every other weekend. I still have no rust and it has never been rust treated. Also make sure the paint is kept waxed
  8. It is not really a new one ,it is basically you removing the rubber insert blade and replacing just the rubber not the metal arm. It is cheap and works wonders especially with the rain X i have.
  9. I would go and give it a nice country drive for about 2 hours without traffic to get the oil to clean up. Motul is race oil ,it is total overkill for me but i want this car to resist wear. not sure where in NYC it is found. G2 is one of the best caliper paints sold and is form tire rack which rebadges it from foliatec in germany. My calipers have an anodized coating now but paint is good .
  10. As long as you know we are just having a good laugh and not making fun of you . :)
  11. did you find the other posts about the fuel filter in the ES section. Please watch this short movie before making more threads.
  12. Your expert is a moron. There is only 2 before and one after the cat on your version of the 1mz-fe engine..
  13. How do you know you need a cat?
  14. toy ,what does" rear yes" mean?
  15. I ordered some parts from the dealer as i needed to do them. Acessory belt was squeeling first thing every morning so i ordered a new one from lexus for $60, i thought it would be a pain by taking off the fan or shroud but it took me a whole 3 minutes to remove and replace. Changed the oil to motul full synthetic 8100 syn based ester with OEM filter. It sounded alittle too loud under idle for a Lexus so i decided t give it some nice cleaning oil .I wanted to flush it with a cleaner but with 250 000km seals can easily start to fail so i stuck to normal stuff as i don't have a single leak right now. Lexus filter 3 for $15 ,motul 8100 10w 40 $70 .After changing the engien sounded slightly better, now after 3 days it is much quieter. Can't wait to hear the difference after i go to lexfest this weekend for the long drive again. I got new wiper inserts from Lexus which are now grey and are imprgenated and covered in teflon. For $10 , 6 and 4 each it was a great difference ,alittle weird swapping the metal inserts to them but it works amazing ,i always heard oem toyota inserts were great but for the price they truely are. Redid my calipers with an anodized finish so now they look like Bembro orange. They look very nice to me behind the rims. Also added my rims which are OZ Opera's 2 peice 20x8.5 front and rears 9.5 . They have a polished lip and a painted silver center.I only have the rears on as iam having the front 2 refinished and waiting for spacers as they won't clear the front calipers. I'll put picks up whe i get the other 2 rims on as i am not proud of doing the half rim thing but the car isn;t moving anywhere and i won't get the other rims back until i am almost ready to go to lexfest so it will reduce the overall install time.
  16. If the resistance is spot on then it probably is just dirty as the reading is the resistance of the filament which is cooled by passing air which increases voltage over it thus letting the ecu know the injested volume
  17. COuld be your kickdown cable could be a bad tps what have you checked, cleaned or fixed?
  18. SEARCH !
  19. No body panel from a lexus to a toyota is a straight swap without replacing the whole clip.
  20. please enjoy the forums but ALWAYS SEARCH FIRST ! This is a very common question
  21. Sorry , but members who contribute to the forums regularly are only allowed to post one topic in one forum not every possible .
  22. It doesn't need to be reprogramed everytime you change the battery, the car alarm is coded to the key not the key to the car. Check the FAQ for the frequency of the remote to see if it is working.
  23. To clean a MAF basically spray throttle body cleaner wash off with small amounts of brake kleen ( non clorinated) then compressed air. You really have nothign to lose.
  24. Your right it is hard to do it on the road driving. It is easy as pie to walk up to a car and write down the VIN never mind just the plate.
