My question is,what year do you have? You should already have a full sized spare, if not someone stole it.

New Radiator & Now Ac Inoperative
SKperformance replied to Zim's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Have someone press the a/c button to confirm the relay works. It has to be wiring related as if it was mechanical such as the freon lines broken the clutch would still engage. -
Well you know the basics, rotors warp from heat. You have a big truck so it makes them heat more than most vehicles. Is it a problem ,not really if it is only at high speed braking. When it gets to the point of everytime you hit the brakes at 30mph and over is it something to really worry about as it will cause balancing problems with the whole corner . Also when a rotor gets warped it heats the pads up more as it is always pushing and pulling the pads on the calipers back and forth al the time now. So the pads heat and wear faster and may tend to squeel. BTW never bother cutting your rotors, it only makes the surface even but the actual thickness of the rotor changes and it gives you high and low spots causing the warping to increase and happen again faster.

Anyone ever thought that the reason they don;t have wood in the RX400h is because many enviormentalists would buy the car. So if they are saving trees they wouldn't want it shown as a measure of opulance in their cars.

Each are different, take them out for an hour or 2 drive to know for sure.

Are you planning on selling this part? It doesn't fit flush and the angle of the pictuer doesn't help at all. In its current form i can't see many wanting them the ones posted on other sites are much better pictures and they look finished. This is my opinon. I would rather see something of that nature in a response ,not just a remark with no value other than be childish.

The pump is in the bottle which is near the front of the car by the bumper. Check to make sure a few things first does the pump make any noise when you press wash? if not then look under the car where the bottle is to make sure it is plugged in then the fuses as well.

You should always turn off the a/c and run it in fresh not recirc for 3 minutes before shutting off the car especially when it has been running more than 30 minutes. This will help remove the excess water that builds up and smells from the water turning to mould because it does not dry

It depends on why the previous owner took them out. Did they have aftermarket fogs in there? If so the wiring has probably been hacked off ,so getting oem fogs will be easy to mount then you have to splice wires. You can always get a new set of recatngle fogs and install them instead for less if you are handy.

The styrofoam is just to keep the shape of the skin. If is deforms then the bumper skin would need replacing before it would. If a rebar is bent you will know it for sure as the bumper cannot sit straight after.

I would like to know why you think it is a joke ? Can you please expand on your opinion? What a joke. ←

Clean you maf and you should be fine for not getting the CEL on. A very simple 10 minute fix.

It depends on where it is broken. the Y-pipe has 2 flex joint which is probably the source of the leak. The reason why it costs so much is because your cats are connected to them. I have not seen the LX exhaust system so i cannot say with any confidence what can be done. If possible a good exhaust shop can remove the broken flex's and replace them by welding them in. You need to get it checked by an exhaust shop to get options though.

I wouldn;t blame you for being paranoid but many parts places especially the dealer always ask for the VIn to make sure you get the part you need as their are many variables in models and owners are not even aware of them. If you feel funny cross reference the part maker with other hitch makers for diffrences to validate the need for providing it.

Doesn't the egr work by returning the exhuast gases which contain Co2 which is used to stiffle burn temps which lower the overall exhaust temp to reduce the Nox production at the end of the burn cycle? "Smaller effective displacement means less fire, and less heat and thus lower temperatures, thereby controlling NOx emissions"

How long have you had the truck? Is it day or night is the stalk in auto or full headlight mode. do the brake lights or reverse or signals work? what side lights? try and add as much info when trying to resolve a problem which fuses did you check

agreed, clean it first

On my 98 LS400 all i have to do it loosen a small bolt on my rear suspension and slide the bracket down to adjust it to raise or lower the headlights angles.

ALL bumpers from every single car maker is made of a "bumper skin" and a styrofoam backing to keep its shape. The rebar under neath it is steel which is what is used for impacts not the bumper skin. It is made to be easily replaced under minor collsions without affecting the actual truck. Only a heavy impact will cause a replacment of a rebar which normally always sets off the airbags. There is nothign wrong ,infact it is the way the car protects you.

I agree again with Lexls. Get the bushings which are cheap but takes a bit to get them installed. The SS lines imporve the pedal feel by stiffening it from the rubber lines that have aged andallow too much flex under normal braking never mind emergency stops. It requires less effort to brake and a more equal distribution by only pushing on the calipers pots not the only other flexable point which is the brake lines. If you think an LS is hard to do bushings. Come over i still have half of my eneregy suspension bushings for my 89 civic, unbelivable after what i have changed but after the first 10 it is a peice of cake to burn and drill them out. I prefer the torch to loosen it a long screwdriver to make a small space to work a hacksaw blade in . Then after the blade is pushed through the bushing then reattaching it to the handle and pushing down in a weird direction. It makes changing them a 10-15 minute process each.

removing emblems ,just do it when the car has been warmed by the sun and some dental floss. Evrery so often you will come across a pin that you have to get around. The headlights are not a simple procedure, it requires you removing them and baking them in an oven to open the adhesive. Which just getting the lights off is a pain since you have to remove the bumper to get to the bolts.
