The runflats are becoming a problem on a lot of cars. The new GS has runflats and I don't think it has a spare either. I know the SC has runflats and no spare. Thats how I have always felt when I have driven a BMW or Mercedes. I like the look and the idea, but when I drive them they always fall short of the Lexus to me. I even drove an S550...and just didn't care for it. I'd honestly rather have an LS460. I'd really like to have one...I admire them on the road...then I get behind the wheel and its just kinda...ugh. I don't feel that way in an Acura or Infiniti...the Lexus is nicer but they I don't dislike them. I guess German just isn't for me. I'd look at the Infiniti FX. Infinitis have God-awful resale value which is a huge plus when buying one used. I really like the FX.

For a long, long time I agreed with you. However, due much in part to the urging of people here I went to H rated tires on my car when I bought the Primacys. There is no handling difference. Going one speed rating down isn't the end of the world. I would tell you never to put S or T rated tires on the car...but to go from a V to an H rated tire isn't an issue. Much of the construction of an H rated and V rated tire are exactly the same...its not like looking at an S rated tire and a V rated tire. Don't trust tire shops automatically. I've had tire shops tell me and do some crazy things over the years like mount directional tires backwards, use clip on weights under trim rings so they stick out...crazy stuff. For instance the LS430 came with tires with an H rating from the factory when the LS400 always shipped with a V rating, and its heavier and higher powered than the ES. The Camry also comes with S rated tires in some trim levels and much of the suspension is the same as on the ES. Even if it weren't...the suspension is the same on all models of the Camry...so how can some have S rated tires and some have V rated tires? I absolutely would not pay $50 more per tire to by the Energy S8 which is a crappy tire with poor treadwear, no treadwear warranty, and poor survey results when I could buy the Primacy which is a MUCH better tire. I've run the H rated Primacy on my ES which shipped with V rated tires for 40,000 miles with zero issues whatsoever. The Primacy comes in a V rating in my size...but I'll replace mine with another set of Hs. Google and find a case of an accident that happened because tires of a lower speed rating were installed on a car...there aren't any.

Probably nothing since the 2010 is all new. You're going to get killed on that trade...I would keep the 350 myself. The hybrid isn't *that* different.

100% normal. Every car I have ever had makes a clicking sound when turning the wheel when the turnsignal is on, its part of the mechanism that turns the turn signal off when the turn is completed.

Thats a shame...I think you paid way too much for an inferior tire.

Let me say first I would not switch to Synthetic oil in this car with that many miles on dino oil. I'd be worried about leaks...and its just not worth it. However, I disagree with the statement that Synthetic oils do not lubricate better than dino oil. That may be true when the oil is fresh, but dino oils break down much more quickly than synthetic oils. When you look at oil analyses with Synthetic oil and dino oil even at 5,000 miles (the recommended severe change schedule on a Lexus) the synthetic oil is much healthier and better lubricating at that point. Synthetic oil also has less paraffins that stiffen up when cold, so cold viscosity is better for cold startups. Synthetic is just a better product. However, if you change the oil every 5k...you probably see no benefit to synthetic oil. I have changed my oil every 5k with Mobil 1 synthetic since the first oil change...but I'm aware its probably not worthwhile. Now if I wanted to try and do 10k intervals...I'd see a big benefit...but I'm not willing to do that. On the new Lexus and Toyota cars they use synthetic oil and the reccomended change interval is 10k miles FWIW...

Its definitely the starter. The exact same thing was happening to my Dad's 98 when he traded it for the 04. Sometimes it will work fine, and sometimes you'll have to try it 10 times before it will turn over. The cheapest quote he got to replace it was like $1,300 which he could never bring himself to do. Luckily it was starting when he traded it in. It will gradually get worse and worse...

2012, not 2011. It will come out in October of 2011 as a 2012. We won't have pictures of it until right before it comes out...Lexus is very tight about such things.

I would buy the Michelin Primacy MXV4...The Dunlop is a smooth quiet tire, but very short treadlife. The Michelin Primacy is the only tire I'll ever put on a Lexus again...they are that good.

You said it was time for Lexus to develop F series versions for all their sedans...the ES is their most popular sedan. I think that was his point.

I have honestly never heard of such a thing... Can you post a picture of the mirror? I wonder if its a Gentex mirror... Keep on Lexus...I bet you can get them to cover it...

Is voice command so huge an issue for you that its the only thing you care about in a car?

Thats a terrible deal with the financing. Lexus is offering 1.9% for 60 months on CPO cars. The dealer fees and all are probably pretty normal...

The Collinite is a good long lasting wax, but anymore there are waxes that last about as long but have better optics and are easier to work with...

Thats a great deal! Make sure its not a salvage...and make sure it hasn't been bought back by Lexus for wind noise...that sounds too good to be true.

If its going to take a couple days they aren't fixing it with PDR. I would not accept the car.

They don't make noise now, but the ceramic pads will cause premature wear of the OEM rotors and they will become noisy...

Yeah but out of the box the user interface is not as simple and elegant as the iPod's. Whatever the iPad may be...its been an incredible hit so Apple must be doing something right.
