  1. The ONLY tire I would put on that car is the Michelin Primacy MXV4... Get ready to pay though, those 18"s are very expensive to replace...
  2. Congratulations!
  3. Water spots are REALLY hard to get rid of. If they did not come out with wetsanding...I'm not sure what to tell you. It must be a chemical stain that has etched through so much of the clear that you aren't getting down deep enough to remove them. The polish you are using must have some oils in it, the reason they look gone and then come back is because the fillers evaporate out of the etching in the heat of the sun. I think you should take it to a professional. If you keep attacking them with abrasive polishers and even worse, sandpaper eventually you're going to burn through the clear and then you'll REALLY have a problem. May be one of those things you just need to live with... What wax/sealant are you using? I've found carnuaba waxes protect against water spots better than sealants.
  4. It is certainly not normal. I would request that the lamp be replaced under warranty. Did they wash it? One of mine has condensation if it gets hit with a pressure sprayer. I wash at home so it almost never happens but if I run it through a touchless wash or something you'll see it. As infrequently as that happens I do have some staining inside the housing which annoys me. Its so old I wouldn't spend the small fortune it would cost to replace the lamps...but I would definately make them replace that since its still under warranty.
  5. I am 99.9% certain if you replace those tires with better tires the issue will go away. I would put the Michelin Primacy MXV4 on the car. I have them on my ES and my Dad has them on his LS430. Air them to the PSI on the doorframe and you'll be happy. I would imagine the suspension and sound isolation are the same on the 04-06 as they are on the 01-03.
  6. What kind of tires on the car? Do you have the 16" wheels or 17" wheels? The tires are VERY VERY important to how a Lexus rides. If the wrong tires are on the vehicle or they are overinflated there is a huge impact on the ride.
  7. I have had the exact same experience with mine. People LOVE the color.
  8. Hey Micah, Do you have experience using a rotary polisher? If not I wouldn't learn on that car, the paint is so soft you can do a lot of damage. What you need is an orbital polisher, like a FLEX. Have you read the tutorials I've posted?
  9. Why would you want a tire that is very noisy on a Lexus that one purchased in a large part because its so quiet? I like the Primacy's because they are smooth and silent...thats what I bought the Lexus for.
  10. Yep, my ES is Black Garnet Pearl. I have ALWAYS liked the BGP though, to me some of the shades in the Peridot are unflattering army-type greens...
  11. My money's on the dimmer knob...
  12. I think too when you look at these incidents, a lot of them are from smaller...foreign airlines...To me the cheapest flight is not always the best flight and I think about that when I book tickets.
  13. A lot smaller than the RX too...
  14. Gee, thanks.
  15. Looks pretty good...
  16. My guess is battery. Does it start with a jump?
  17. I like it...I've always liked the previous generation too though...
  18. Yeah try almost twice as much oil, the LS460 holds 9 quarts the ES holds 5. So if its $7/quart Synthetic oil thats going to be $28 more just for the oil, no shop will do that for the same price. Everything is more expensive on the V8 than the V6. The dealers have an entirely different cost schedule. I'd try finding an independent shop. Insurance and such will probably be about the same...tags and such will be the same...
  19. Yeah I can't decide whether or not I like the Peridot or not. Green used to be all the rage on the Lexus in the 90s, all luxury cars actually. When my Dad bought his Cadillac in 95...Cadillac had three different dark greens. Lexus has always had a green...
  20. Yeah its not the battery, its the starter...its notorious on this car. Everybody we asked when it was happening to my Dad's 98 said "Its the starter, happens all the time and they are a !Removed! to replace" It'll be fine for a while, bad for a while, fine for a while but it will gradually get worse. My Dad drove his 98 for 20,000 miles that way before he traded it...
  21. Really well deserved IMHO. Ford has really been building some great cars over the last couple years, qualitywise thats just a fact. Obviously you're seeing the results. As for the Taurus SHO...I mean...its a LOT of car. The ONLY thing that would keep me from buying one vs an ES350 is the brand issue. Its bigger, faster, has a lot more amenities. Its a really nice car. Still...for $40,000 the Lexus is going to have better resale and of course the prestige of the luxury brand. The Taurus is more car though.
  22. I know a bunch of people with GX470s, its a popular vehicle in the real estate industry...everybody's been 100% thrilled. Its a really nice vehicle.
  23. Just got it back yesterday, turned out great! $2,100 just for PDR.
  24. I've driven my Primacy's for hours at 80MPH. They are speed rated to 135MPH...the issue is not with speed at all, its with how the different tire construction affects the handling. I understand where you are coming from, but what you are describing is just as likely in a V rated tire as it is in an H rated tire...and that is extremely unlikely.
  25. You're a hall of famer here SRK!
