  1. Its all relative. Can the car be replaced with something as reliable and safe for your son as it is for $1200? Does it really HAVE to cost $1200? Where did you get that estimate?
  2. I would be very surprised if they could...
  3. Oh man...I can't even imagine what it must be like to have a child sick and in the hospital. He'll be okay...we're all pulling for you. If they find this "Meckel" what are the options for removing it? Are they talking about Surgery? If it should become neccisary, I know several Doctors at Children's Hospital in DC... Keep us posted...
  4. Yep, the multiple policy discount...
  5. I have the same rims as on your '04 ES, the car has 145,000 miles on it and mine are fine...
  6. Try slamming both doors when the car is running. Sometimes the rear windows need to be "reset" in this manner...
  7. I agree, however the issues with Toyota/Lexus and degredation of product quality doesn't only come from US based construction or parts. Your GS for instance G Man is built in Japan and I know you've had a lot of quality problems.
  8. Yeah the umbrella policy is VERY cheap, I think mine is maybe $130 a year as well...
  9. Its not really that you're expecting too much, but I don't think its unreasonable for them to try and find good like new parts vs new parts for this kind of repair. Does that make sense? So basically...you're both right. I thought about the age deal after I posted that... Be sure to get what he said about the parts in writing... Keep us posted...
  10. Check out www.vaistech.com
  11. Lexi is so so right. This is exactly what I have. Its especially scary for me because I drive clients and their children around. You're better off to keep your insurance in TX with a real insurance company than to move it to WA with some company nobody has ever heard of and reduce the coverage. You have to think about the viability of the company when it comes to paying claims. What if you hit someone and kill everybody in the car...is this "American Family" insurance going to be able to pay out that claim? Its not like you have nothing anymore, you've got cash in the bank...going to buy a house at some point. You need to be protected. If you need to save money, raise the deductibles don't lower the liability limits.
  12. I literally have no idea...try shooting "Steve" a PM...
  13. By the very nature of a CVT its going to be more reliable than a standard transmission, fewer moving parts...no gears...etc.
  14. What a mess... The used parts in and of themselves don't bother me, as long as they are in like new condition and they will be covered by your warranty. It makes sense for you to only contact him also so everything is going through one source. The fact that they are !Removed! around without having you in a loaner is really infuriating. I wouldn't pick the car up personally...I would tell them you demand a loaner, or for them to rent you a car from an outside source and leave your car over there until its fixed.
  15. That was my experience with sprint, and my buddy's experience with Sprint also. In fact he was arguing with them about something the other day and I remember thinking how silly the whole thing was. Something they did wrong and he had to open up a new account because the computer wouldn't do something to reverse it...crazy.
  16. My deductible is $1,000 on collision for the very reason Lexi mentioned, I'm not going to turn anything cheaper than that in and it really lowers the premium.
  17. Yeah that guys no longer with us ;) I literally have no idea...nor do I remember that specific thread.
  18. Remember what the 80's were like? I'm pretty sure you weren't even alive LOL. This has been fun and all...but I think its time we move on. I suggest you find another forum to post on...its just...not a good fit for you here. Bann-o.
  19. You have to be reasonable. You can't blame the dealer because they couldn't program bootlegged or used keys that you bought from what you admit was a shady source. Once you bought a legitimate genuine key then it programmed right up didn't it? Its a $40,000 car with high end technology, it has a smart key system with sensors and computers with sophisticated code scrambling and anti-theft devices and yes, keys aren't cheap. Its not a 1990 Ford Aerostar you can just go to Sears and get keys for. You want the latest technology its not free. It was only difficult for you because you tried to take the cheap route instead of making sure you were buying the right parts for the vehicle. Had you just ordered the right key online it would have been easy and done. Not the dealer's fault. I think it was very nice for them to program the key for you the second time without charging you.
  20. Values?!? Do you mean valves?
  21. LMAO...what in the world are you talking about?!? Jesus...everything you write is nothing but incoherent ramblings. You can say whatever you want...but this isn't America...this is the Internet. If you're going to post like you post...you are going to get crap from people about it. Can't handle it? Stay off the Internet. Being "different" is one thing...being a moron is something else entirely. You need to take an english class...please. LMAO! What does this even mean? Riiight...you are obviously a scholastically slow teenager who valet parks cars for a living...have a 17 year old Lexus you paid $1,800 for that, according to your own description, blows blue smoke and the A/C comes on when you turn on the headlights, with Superman stickers all over it and can't even put a coherent sentance together...but we're "hating on you" because you're "doing better than us". Do you actually believe that? To be a teenager again...wow...really...do you think that thing or you impresses anyone who isn't 14 and doesn't have parents that are cousins? You have to start somewhere, and I realize that you are young and excited about your Lexus...but come on. Its a ghetto hooptie that cost less than I paid for my television...get over yourself LOL If you didn't have the attitude everyone would welcome you with open arms. Since you're acting like a punk though we're going to tell you how it is.
  22. Thats one of the most ignorant things I have ever seen...
  23. The alternator sounds plausible to me too...
  24. Unfortunately, if they are red they probably cannot be removed. Have you tried a good carpet cleaner like Resolve or Folex? Red stains are almost impossible to get out of light carpet.
  25. So it begins ;)
