  1. Sounds like there's going to be a new Lexus added to the family huh Steve? B) BTW, I got the pics from our vacation......awaiting for the all clear on LOC. ;)
  2. A 'UL' car?
  3. Lmao! :whistles: B)
  4. Congrats! B) Sharp looking ride dens. :D
  5. Well some of the pics turned out really good (we took 300+ on our trip, but relax......it won't be anywhere near that amount I'd like to display). My guess is around 15 - 20......is that reasonable or too many? I'm not sure if they need to be resized though.
  6. I concur 99, no issues either with my wife 03 Forester. B) When I was on vacation, I picked up some Mobil 1 synthetic 75w-90 gear oil (on sale for a very good price!) for my 06 Turbo Forester which I will be putting in, in the fall........I've heard pretty good things about this too. B)
  7. I've been trying to post some pics of my trip to Washington D.C. & Gettysburg including a pic of Steve & I (SW). Can anyone tell me if something is still wrong with the site? I was told there were problems a while ago but not sure if things have been fixed yet.
  8. I like the silver personally.....very nice choice! B)
  9. There is also a Canadian Lexus mag published.......but to be honest it's lame. :whistles:
  10. If I was choosing a set of summer rubber, they would be (by far) those steviej! B) An excellent choice!
  11. Anytime Impala........if you still want the tranny plug gasket & oil plug gaskets that I have (all Original equipment from the Lexus parts department) you can have them.......like I said my treat, I have no use for them anymore (I traded in my 01 ES) & I don't want to just throw them out. B)
  12. I hear what your saying......but to be fair, not matter what model Subaru Forester or Outback one purchases (as an example), it does not come with the darker 'privacy glass' (which I think should) one see's with more popular SUV's & Minivans. I wish they did.......it would only cost me for the 2 front side windows. B)
  13. My great Aunt was in a pretty bad car accident about a month ago (her life long friend was badly injured in the passenger seat, but will be OK in time I'm happy to say) in her 1986 Murcury Marquis station wagon (she lived in Florida until 1995 so the car was in excellent shape actually) just purchased a 2003 Toyota Camry LE 4 cyl on my advice & she loves it & couldn't be happier (she had her eye on a Buick Allure......Lacrosse for my American friends.....but fell in love with the Camry after test driving both). I personally will not go back to domestic anytime soon & this is coming from someone who was GM for years. ;) I don't know what it is.....but Detroit did loose their way along the line somewhere........pretty much every statistic supports that for the last several years.
  14. One thing is for sure Josh, tint really enhances the appearance of a car whatever shade one chooses bud! B) No question about that! ;)
  15. Thanks mburn.....so it was the 99 MY that started using the Toyota type IV fluid....well I was close. :whistles: Impala, go nuts with the synthetic tranny fluid then lol. B) I would suggest you replace both the tranny pan & plug gaskets however........If memory serves, I have an extra plug gasket around I can send you (my treat!) It should be the same size as the 98 as it was for my 01 ES. I also have several oil plug gaskets for the ES too. I also have a pair of Stealth bulbs (compliments of my good friend steviej) model # 7440 which I could not use because of the type of tail lamps I had on my 01 ES......they will also fit your 98 (which have different lenses so they should work quite nicely). They are also yours if you want them........all no charge. If your interested, PM me your mailing address I will be happy to send them to ya. :)
  16. There has been chat on this in the es forums, I got chewed out for stating my opinion on the new camry ( because I stated that I would buy a camry before I bought a new es B) ). Look back in the es forums. Anyway, I stand by my statement. I would buy a new camry over an es. dc, I was part of that discussion & if memory serves I agreed with you & still do. ;) I like the 2002 - 2006 styling better personally. One shouldn't get chewed out because we have a differing opinion on vehicles........at least the 2 are on the same team. B) I doubt many will cross shop the two anyway.......but I know I wouldn't be able to afford the new ES for about 2 - 3 years.
  17. Agreed dc B) I did make the switch however to the new Amsoil Ea air filter on my new Subi.....wanted to give it a try. Much cheaper than the K & N (about half price & that does not include the 'cleaning kit' for the K & N filter as there is no cleaning kit needed for the new Amsoil filter), easier to clean, better filtration & lasts 100,000 miles. I've noticed a pretty big increase in my fuel economy after swapping out the OE paper filter. If anyone is interested, here is some more info..... http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx
  18. I might give nitrogen a try when it's more readily available out there........and free lol. ;) B) It's cool that you notice such a difference though sk. I skimmed over some of the replies.......and may have overlooked it.......any fuel economy differences?
  19. I hate to say it, but I think the new Camry V6 SE in dark grey (Phantom grey pearl?) looks sharper than the new ES. Just my opinion. ;)
  20. That happened to me with my pearl white Riviera & Maxima back in the day......also got one with my ES when I first got it. Nice feeling. B)
  21. For the life of me, I can't remember if it's the 98 or 99 that needs Toyota type IV ATF (correct me gents if I am wrong but the 97 takes Dexron III?). If that's the case, go with a synthetic ATF......but if it's Toyota type IV, use only that......and do a few flushes to get the bad stuff completely out of the system........many are on the fence with the T-Tech tranny flushing machines. B)
  22. Some colors look better than others for it's styling I guess was my point. ;)
  23. Sk, did you say it cost you $20 do have the 'switch' done?
  24. Agreed, a very sharp color! B)
  25. Several different & closer angles on a sunny day help as well. B) I find the 5% (limo) extremely dark at night personally.
