I knew that Amsoil has a compatible ATF to meet Toyota Type IV fluids specs.....was not aware of M1 having one now however. I thought this was a question on conventional vs. Synthetic diff fluids? I installed Castrol Syntec 75w90 (meets GL-5 classification) in my wife's 2003 Subaru Forester for both the F & R diffs.......never had a problem before on conventional, but it's even slightly quieter now that I put the synthetic in. What does your owners manual say to use? B)

On May 6th, my wife & I will be taking a 2 week vacation to Washington D.C. Some of the places we will be visiting are..... The White House, Pentagon, Smithsonian, Arlington cemetery, the war memorials, Capital building, Washington Cathedral, International spy museum, National Mall, Washington Monument & Ford's Theatre..... Does anyone have any additional suggestions for other 'must see' places to check out while were there? :) We hope to meet up with Steve (SW) while we are there as well. B) Thanks in advance.

Most laser platinum & Iridium plugs come already 'pre-gapped' so your mechanic was correct. B) All one has to do is use one of those gap tools mechanics have to prove it. B)

Not that this is gospel or anything, but I checked the Amsoil website......you key in the year, make & model of vehicle you have & it will tell you the capacities & part numbers for filters etc......it says Engine oil with oil filter capacity is 6.6 qt's. B) How can Lexus make a mistake in their owners manual & not at least send you a letter updating the correct capacity? It sounds like 6.5 qt's is the correct capacity with filter change to me bud.

Sonic, When you start the car.......do you turn the key & fire up the car immediately, or do you turn the key to the point where all dash lights come on & wait a couple of seconds (during that time you should hear some faint noises under the hood) & then start the car? The ladder is the perfered way of doing things as this pretty much 'primes' & readies things before start up. B)

That would be so cool if Lexus did that......eat more into Honda's market share. ;)

I concur.......in addition, take any heavy items out of the vehicle that is not needed.......reduce weight (keep the spare in the trunk however). Little things too like 'coasting' to a red light instead of waiting until the last minute to brake hard......saves gas & your brakes. Beleive it or not, they had a news article on this week & also suggested a good wax job helps as well......not much to be sure but every bit helps & hey, your ride looks sharp too!
